Friendly staff, Nice location (subway & metro station are at a few door steps)

The staff is very friendly and the hotel has an excellent connection to the m1 and m9, which brings you directly the Eiffeltower or to one of the many museums around the River Seine. The rooms are lovely furnished. There is also a great breakfast to. :)

This was our second visit to the hotel - our experience was just as good as the first time. The staff are very good - they work together extremely well as a team - the manager has instilled into them the philosophy that the customer comes first. The atmosphere is very relaxed - we will be back again!

Staying at the GHF was a key part of a wonderful Parisian experience. The room, immaculate and, extremely comfortable with a shower to die for was small by American standard,s but was more than adequate to make our stay pleasurable. The manager and staff good not do more to make our 5 day stay better. They were extremely pleasant and helpful and provided many useful dining and sight seeing suggestionss. The complimentary chocolates and wine were a nice treat to cap off a tourist's day. Located within minutes of the Nation metro station made traveling about Paris very simple and convenient. GHF will certainly be included in our visits in the future.

Super slow elevator Bad smell from the bathroom but u can close the door... Very small shower.

The team at the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful offering advice about how to travel around the city to see the sites.They also booked meals at local restaurants, where we had 3 lovely meals but the outstanding one was at Au Petit Paniche where the friendly staff were helpful translating parts of the menu that we were unsure of and the food was truly delicious;with cerviche of tuna and duck livers to start,followed by the house steak served with chunky chips and a lovely pepper sauce. The hotel room was extremely clean and the bedding was very comfortable.The shower was great and revitalised us after a full day of site seeing. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to our friends.

The cleaners could be noisy early in the morning as their cupboard containing cleaning items was located next to our room-but this was a minor point and they kept the room spotlessly clean.

Great hotel with friendly staff and an excellent breakfast in a really good location close to a main RER and metro line with a good selection of cafes/resturants and bars in the area.

Location was right in-between two metro stations and easy to get to from the center. There were lots of restaurants and shops close by. The area is safe. Hotel staff was very friendly. Bed was comfortable.

The room was very small and the bathroom tiny, there were no towel hangers in the bathroom, just a small rack.

This hotel is located a short walk from metrostation Nation, which is a very good start when exploring Paris. The staff is very forthcoming and helpful, which makes a stay so much more pleasant. Rooms are small, which is typical of Paris, but the interior is so well thought through, that it is not a problem. Breakfast is good and covers most tastes.

We stayed at this hotel between13th and 16th December 2012. I booked this hotel for a weekend city trip to Paris for my partner and I and can say with certainty, should you decide to stay here too you won't be disappointed! We found everything to be of a very high standard, especially the staff, the room and the breakfast. The staff on the front desk couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. I emailed ahead for directions, ie: which metro stop to get off for our arrival at the hotel (by the way, this is Rue Des Boulet, approx 100 mtrs from the hotel, Line 9), which was kindly emailed back to me, I also asked for reservations to be made at a local restaurant Po.za.da. (which you really should visit, this is an excellent restaurant serving both innovative and delicious food, see the comments on Tripadvisor! This establishment is only 200 mtrs from the hotel and it certainly err's on the side of modest with regards to cost), which was kindly done and confirmed. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were given information from the more than helpful reception staff on things such as metro ticket costs, local restaurant recommendations, places of interest to visit etc. Our room was on the smaller side, but more than adequate for our needs and immaculately clean. In our room we found complimentary toiletries and bottled water. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom so no need to take one ladies :-) Breakfast is served on the lower ground floor and there we found an excellent selection of meats/cheeses/cereal/fruit salad/breads/pastries etc. Hot drinks and fresh juice are available from the self service machines. All in, I would highly recommend this hotel!!

Clean hotel, spotless rooms, comfortable bed, easy access. I liked the complementary Perrier, the nice massage shower and the french breakfast with quality products. A good way to start the day. A special remark for the breakfast lady, always smiling and sending a good vibe :)

This hotel is an excellent value for Paris. Although the Metro is required to get to the points of interest, there are two stations nearby. The hotel breakfast was a great way to start the day. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable so it is understandable why this hotel can be rated excellent.

We have stayed at Grand Hotel Francais on previous visits to Paris and we would thoroughly recommend it. The staff are very helpful...it is close to Rue des Boulets and Nation metro stations....Gare du Nord (for Eurostar) is easily reached as well. Rooms are well appointed, we ask for a fifth floor room overlooking the garden - always very quiet. The hotel is close to some very good restaurants...indeed one blogger - Simon Kuper of the Financial Times - has called Rue Paul Bert 'The most gastronomic street in Paris'!! We ate at Chez Mamy - very good indeed - Bistrot Paul Bert and Au Petit Panisse in the next street, also excellent. You will need to book in advance and the hotel will do that for you. We didn't have breakfast at the Hotel....like a lot of hotels, the price is sky high instead we went to Cafe Titon for tea/coffee and grabbed something to eat from the lovely patisserie just down the road from it. One advantage of the hotel is that there is a kettle + cups in the room. They provide some coffee and tea bags, but we usually take a handful of our own favourite tea bags and a small jar of coffee for late night/early morning drinks. We had glorious, very warm October sunshine on our long weekend and so we went to Versailles (go when the musical fountains are playing - usually a Sunday or Wednesday)....the Garnier Paris Opera House (we're fans of The Phantom of the Opera)...and a Seine river boat trip on Bateaux Mouches. Paris is one of our favourite cities and we would unhesitatingly recommend Grand Hotel Francais!! Ron and Julia - Ross-on-Wye
