The architecture and history of the building and its surroundings was unique and beautiful. They also offered a nice petit dejeuner each morning (although we were never up early enough for it). It was also very quiet there. LaRochelle also offers a variety of experiences from shopping to swimming to bicycling to simply walking its beautiful, historic streets. We loved our stay there. The only suggestion I have is that they extend the petit dejeuner time to 11:00. |

Apart from the room, which was small but comfortable, we appreciated the ground floor room found for us at the last minute and the fact that there was safe parking in a very crowded town. Reservation staff were lovely. We were only there for one night, but it would have been helpful to have had a bar or a small sitting area if for only a short while during an evening. In other words you had your room and that was it, facilities outside the room were minimal. |

La Rochelle is a great town. The staff was great. There was one very helpful lady who spoke several other languages--English, Italian, Portuguese. The hotel is close to everything in the old city, shopping, and places to eat. There is on-site parking inside the gate; be sure to request a parking reservation before you show up. It was difficult navigating the room around the bed. The hotel was difficult to find. Most of the streets are one-way and street signage is hard to find. Get there early before the crowds build up in the early evening. Wifi was problematic and the staff did not know much about it or have any instructions. |

Its a lovely cosy hotel, near all amenities, decent sized room with good shower en suite. All in all, good value for money. Pity about the road works at 8.00am when you have a hang over! |
