We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival. Most staff were able to speak some English. The French decor of our junior suite which included an additional lounge furnished with antiques. Breakfast, which was an additional cost was very generous and delicious. They even delivered one morning to our room upon our request. The dining room service was exceptional and the food quite good but expensive. The wine list was most impressive.

The setting of the host facility in a beautiful part of the Loire region, in a picture-perfect village. We were treated in a quite unfriendly manner on our arrival. A staff member at reception expressed her impatience and disinterest at our enquiries concerning wi-fi connection. Later the same person spoke to us agressively and rudely when we requested a hot-water jug for our room. This is the only instance of rudeness we have encountered in several weeks touring France. In general we found the other staff members to be aloof and formal. We expected something better for a two night stay at a premium venue.

Beautiful huge room and en suite, sheer luxury. We were over the road from main building which did not detract at all. Brilliant offer of 95 euro per night b&b, put this hotel to within our price range, and glad it did. Stroll to chateau and other restaurants made location excellent choice. Excellent breakfast - meat cheese fruit yogs etc far more choice than usual bread/jam. Did not use restaurant - a la carte just too expensive for us, and basic set menu at 49 euro looked uninteresting and again appeared pricey. Choice of 4 other restaurants within 100 yards - we used La Relais, which reasonable price, very good standard of food and service - packed every night. With locals and tourists alike.

It was perfect! Just down the street from the Chateau de Chenonceaux. Beautiful scenic area. Free parking was great. Complimentary breakfast was great. Hotel staff was friendly and the hotel was unique and cozy (bathroom was nice and new). Of our 11 nights in England, Belgium and France, this was our favorite!

Excellent hotel in Chenanceaux, a few meters from the castle entrance. Not a cheap hotel but the price is consistent with the quality. We stayed in a huge room with all the comforts of a luxury hotel.

Apart from the excellent location, unusual accommodation and peaceful atmosphere, the main reason for staying here is the food. We went for the gourmet menu and were not disappointed. Every course (and the additional between-course dishes) was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Our bathroom looked beautiful but was somewhat impractical in that it was impossible to take a shower without flooding the floor. The price of pre-dinner drinks comes as a bit of a shock.

Rooms were well appointed and clean, and the hotel itself had a charming air. Staff were correct but did not project too much warmth. I would overall rate it better than the hotels of a competitor hotel association that I have tried.

Very comfortable night's sleep in a peaceful location. Good size rooms. A very formal hotel that will not suit everyone. Place lacks atmosphere and staff seem cold until the engage with them. Restaurant (Michelin starred ??) is nothing out of the ordinary for France and not good value in my opinion. Even with my deal on this site an expensive one night stay.

The best things about the Auberge were: the grounds - we gave our 20 month old daughter a picnic dinner on the grass by the chickens. I'm not sure what we'd have done if the weather had been poor - perhaps the staff would have let us use a table in the restaurant. The food - we had a lovely dinner. The staff - offered to put a fridge in the room for milk and other foodstuffs. Also happy to warm milk in the microwave morning and evening. Proximity to the Chateau is perfect. The only thing we didn't like was that the room was a bit small for us plus a cot - although the square footage was good, we were under the eaves and the sloping ceilings meant that we lost head-room. We didn't mind really - we hardly spent any time in the room at all. Had we been there for more than once night, we might have asked to change.

The high cost of accommodation which was average. No in-room tea / coffee making facilities. Although a shower head in the bath was available there was no position on the wall to fix it or any shower enclosure or curtain. Inevitably the bath room floor was flooded each time you wanted a shower. Unacceptable at this price for a "Privilege room ". Glyn r Williams

It was very close to the lovely Chateau Chenonceau and well placed to visit many other Chateaux in the area. It is a very attractive, old hotel and our room was off a lovely courtyard. Safe off-street parking for our classic car, locked up at night. Good breakfast, but charged extra. A gourmet restaurant, but expensive, so we opted for another restaurant in the village - all within very easy walking distance. Room very comfortable & spacious, nice big double bed, and very clean nice bathroom. I have a walking disability, so they very thoughtfully gave us the choice of two rooms & showed us both before we checked in. The staff were helpful, but a tad on impatient side, and although they did their job well & in a business-like manner, it was not very friendly and lacked the 'warmth' of some places we stayed in.

It was like in fairytale! The hotel is situated near to the most elegant and beautiful castel of Loire. The hotel is very cozy and nice. The staff is the best staff I have ever met before. And of course restaurant of the hotel is another wonderful story. The nature is very calm and climate soft.

The staff was absolutely attentive from the very first minute. Since I'd broken my leg I had to change the type of room and they were very helpful and quick to solve the problem. The hotel is incredibly charming and perfect for a romantic weekend escapade or for a family stay. Relaxing and very comfortable. The restaurant moreover was great: innovative food, excellent presentation and service. We've loved everything about this hotel!
