Very comfortable night's sleep in a peaceful location. Good size rooms. A very formal hotel that will not suit everyone. Place lacks atmosphere and staff seem cold until the engage with them. Restaurant (Michelin starred ??) is nothing out of the ordinary for France and not good value in my opinion. Even with my deal on this site an expensive one night stay.

The staff were fabulous, spoke English and remembered what you'd ordered previously and how you had it so they didn't have to ask you again. The meals in the restaurant were amazing, couldn't fault any of the food that was presented to us, they also have an extensive wine list. The lounge area was warm cosy and the perfect spot for a cup of tea in the afternoon. The bath/shower would be my only dislike...the shower hose was not wall mounted so you had to sit in the bath and hold the hose over your head. These facilities could do with updating.

Our room was located in a building located across the street from the hotel and was very nice. The decor was beautiful and the room was very large. The front desk personnel were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is located very close to the Chateau which you could easily walk to if you so desired. The village is small so choice of restaurants for dinner is somewhat limited. We found one around the corner that was very reasonable and very good. Parking was in a gated area behind the hotel.

Lovely inn, friendly staff, excellent location. Sitting rooms in the main house especially pleasant. Dinner at the highly rated restaurant was not as good as expected and not in line with a Michelin star. Staff and service were great, but the room in which we were served (the same room as the breakfast area) was over-lit and echoingly silent and did not feel very luxurious or festive a place to have a good (and very expensive) meal. Lamb was undercooked (rose does not mean extremely rare).

Excellent location if you want to just spend time to visit Chateau Chenonceau but Chenonceau itself is basically just a one-street village. The hotel has very elegant lounges and it would be a pleasure to use if you have the time. Being a 4 * hotel, they could/should provide tea and coffee making facilities to make their guests stay more comfortable, especially in such a quiet location. The price is only good if you can get a special discount, as having breakfast in such a location is imperative to enjoy the hotel experience, which fortunately we did. Afternoon tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice.

Outstanding hospitality and personalized service from the entire team -- from providing a baby monitor so we could eat dinner while our son slept -- to letting us get drinks at the bar, dinner in the restaurant and breakfast without ever having to sign a slip -- we had a great stay.

The owners of the Bon Laboureur are professional hoteliers and their attention to detail means that whenever we stay here our every requirement is catered for, and often surpassed. Excellent service, comfortable rooms and delicious meals are provided without fuss or pretension, enabling guests to totally relax and enjoy their stay. We always hate leaving and having to say goodbye.

The best things about the Auberge were: the grounds - we gave our 20 month old daughter a picnic dinner on the grass by the chickens. I'm not sure what we'd have done if the weather had been poor - perhaps the staff would have let us use a table in the restaurant. The food - we had a lovely dinner. The staff - offered to put a fridge in the room for milk and other foodstuffs. Also happy to warm milk in the microwave morning and evening. Proximity to the Chateau is perfect. The only thing we didn't like was that the room was a bit small for us plus a cot - although the square footage was good, we were under the eaves and the sloping ceilings meant that we lost head-room. We didn't mind really - we hardly spent any time in the room at all. Had we been there for more than once night, we might have asked to change.

Whilst cheaper by using booking.com, it still did not offer value for money,we seemed to get the smallest room in the hotel.

The high cost of accommodation which was average. No in-room tea / coffee making facilities. Although a shower head in the bath was available there was no position on the wall to fix it or any shower enclosure or curtain. Inevitably the bath room floor was flooded each time you wanted a shower. Unacceptable at this price for a "Privilege room ". Glyn r Williams

It was very close to the lovely Chateau Chenonceau and well placed to visit many other Chateaux in the area. It is a very attractive, old hotel and our room was off a lovely courtyard. Safe off-street parking for our classic car, locked up at night. Good breakfast, but charged extra. A gourmet restaurant, but expensive, so we opted for another restaurant in the village - all within very easy walking distance. Room very comfortable & spacious, nice big double bed, and very clean nice bathroom. I have a walking disability, so they very thoughtfully gave us the choice of two rooms & showed us both before we checked in. The staff were helpful, but a tad on impatient side, and although they did their job well & in a business-like manner, it was not very friendly and lacked the 'warmth' of some places we stayed in.
