We stayed here overnight so that we could catch the early morning ferry. The hotel was basic, but very clean, comfortable and friendly. We would certainly be happy to stay here again for an overnight stay The side door of the hotel is left open overnight as the reception is only manned from 8am till 8pm

Location and price were great for traveling to visit the beaches of Normandy. It's a step up from a bed and breakfast, no major amenities (wi-fi, etc) but for a basic room you can't beat it. Nothing about Le Canada per se but be prepared to eat on the locals time, there aren't many food establishments in the area and they all open and close for lunch, then again for dinner. Just plan accordingly and you'll be fine.

Good location and friendly staff A room was advertised as for 4/5. I mentioned in my booking notes that I wanted it for 5 but it wasn't prepared for 5 as I hadn't asked for the extra bed. It was not clear that you would need an extra bed if you wanted the "5" bed option. Should be made more clear

Location, close to beach, and not any beach, but WW 11 beach was stunning. We enjoyed the history and beach scenery of the hotel's location.

It was very close to the Caen ferry port and we had an early start for the ferry the following morning so this hotel was a quick stop over for us. We were 'bed only' and so the 'budget' nature of the hotel suited our needs for 12 hours. The 5 of us were in 1 Family Room (2 adults and 3 children) and this resulted in the beds being pushed next to each other in a tight row and you couldn't walk between beds! We could only just open the bathroom door wide enough to squeeze through (and we're reasonably slim!) as the beds were in the way of the door! All good fun if just 1 night though!

Nice large family room. Across the road from the beach and close to the busy port with a wide range of restaurants. Ideal if you are interested in the history of the 2nd world war. It would have been nice to have the option of an evening meal after a long day travelling.

It was convenient for the Ferry Port and easy to book through the website. We spent some time on the beach while we waited for our ferry. We had to walk about a mile (we were on bikes and didn't want to ride any more that day) to find somewhere for dinner but there were several places in Lion Sur Mer. Cramped attic room in the annex with no lock on the front door. Noisy, wooden stairs as people came in at night. Noisy, plastic mattress cover. The hotel was good enough as a one night place for the ferry but I wouldn't recommend it for more than that; the main house may have been better. It was expensive for what we had.
