Le Flamboyant  

I have stayed in several French hotels over the years, and much to my surprise Le Flamboyant exceeded my expectations, the room was large, clean ... unlike some other hotels you wouldn't even use the shower with confidence. So I can recommend Le Flamboyant.

I would have liked to have a restaurant either in the hotel itself or close by, you actually have to take the car or walk for about 15 minutes before you can find anything to have dinner at.

A good choice to visit Annecy if you have a car. Situated just outside the city centre, 10 mins drive. Quiet and peaceful.

- We only booked a double room, but with an additional cot (free of charge) and a camp bed (charged), we could stay together in one room together with our two children (7 months, 3 years). - Room was spacious, bright, and very clean (including nice small terrace). - Child seat was already at arrival for breakfast.

Bus connection to the city is problematic (throughout the week): the last buses from the city to Annecy-le-Vieux depart before 20:30 (weekdays) or before 18:00 (weekend). There is a night line bus during the weekend; however, the first night bus to Annecy-le-Vieux departs only after 22:00 (not ideal for young families).

The room was very comfortable

The literature in the room suggested that the hotel was part of an association of hotels and that each one would have a guide to area restaurants at the front desk. When I inquired, I was told that there was no guide and the clerk told me that she could not recommend any restaurants.

L'accueil sympatique du personnel, l'aménagement, le calme.

L'exposition de la chambre au rez-de-chaussée avec vue fermée par une haute haie proche, chambre que l'on nous avait réservée mais que l'on a accepté de changer à notre demande.

Hotel un peu excentré du Centre d'Annecy mais présence d'un parking public gratuit. Le Lac n'est pas bien loin et la route pour l'accès aux stations de ski est rapidement accessible. Personnel agréable. Les chambres sont propres et spacieuses (du moins pour les grandes chambres). La terrasse ou le balcon sont bien utiles lorsqu'il fait beau.

La "vue" jardin limitée depuis le rez de chaussée. Le mobilier un peu vieux et surtout les matelas creusés par l'usure.
