The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture.
The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture. Compact and yet full of little surprises, Annecy is a charming French city that should be in every traveller’s bucket list. Plenty of excellent dining options, the majestic Alps before you, the Lake and the river around which the place weaves its spell. Late March, early April werent as packed with tourists as summer, so the pace is less harried. Prices, too, both for food and accommodation are very affordable. Three restaurants we tried : Cozna, Saba and Le Bouillon, all Michellin recommended - provided excellent food and service.

Beautiful old city.
Beautiful old city.
Gorgeous views of a pristine, clear lake.
Old town area was lovely and the Sunday market seemed really authentic.
Have a trip on the boat to admire the substantial houses dotted along the shoreline, enjoy an ice cream and take lots of pics.
There is a good bus service if you want to go further afield. We visited Talloires Montmin on the other side of the lake by car but I noticed it is on a bus route too.

Maximum charm in a small footprint: the Old Town is pedestrian-only, small streets that wind around and across the river, farmers markets, cutesy shops, plenty of cheese-y dinners... the place is a picture-postcard for France.

A beautiful town with lake and waterways.
A beautiful town with lake and waterways. Historic buildings and narrow streets within the centre giving a really good feel. Unfortunately it rained a lot the week we we there but didn't spoil our enjoyment too much. Lots of lovely shops and cafes and friendly and helpful people.

The hotel is well located away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to easily stroll into the old town.

The staff were amazing, very attentive and explained everything in detail and very kindly. They also helped us with hot water for our baby food which was smuch appreciated.
The family room was very spacious, clean and great for our 2+2 family.
Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Annecy.
Room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The young lady at the reception was extremely helpful and courteous at all times. We did not know that the hotel offers parking so we had to find free parking in the adjoining streets. It should be noted that the hotel is a 20 mins walk from the old town but it’s a nice walk along the lakeside and there is also a quicker bus option.
We enjoyed the location of the apartment (COUR). It is in the city center, but our window faced the inner yard, so we didn’t hear the noise from outside and church. The apartment is modern, well equipped and dog-friendly. The Wi-Fi there was the best we had experienced in all the hotels and apartments we stayed at in southern part of France. The host was friendly.
Best location in Annecy old town, overlooking the most prominent landmarks and the canal. The view from the little balcony is unrivalled! Loved the classic French decor of antique furniture and art in the rooms. The staff consisting of the family who run the hotel were very friendly and helpful; Joel especially had the warmest smile.
This spacious apartment was charming and very well situated in the old town area. We loved the views and enjoyed having a balcony. The hosts are exceptionally pleasant & helpful and added greatly to our enjoyment of the city. They have a wonderful library which includes excellent books about essential things to see & do in France.
1. The location- it’s in the heart of the old town in Annecy
2. The character and authenticity- its interior is modernised but you know you are in an old building
3. Space- the main bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The living area works well.
4. Booking and response from agent/owner.
5. Nearby parking- good value and easy
The hotel is a close walk to the train and bus station and just around the corner from Old Town. The terrace had a lovely view and the location made touring Annecy very easy. Though we stayed during the hottest time on the top floor, we were provided with a fan.
This apartment ‘La Philosophe’ is a work of art, combining modern comfort with period features of the old building. Right in the heart of the old town: very convenient for a pleasant holiday in the heart of Annecy. Managed by a helpful and pleasant host.
Fantastic central location next to station and old town. We had a big airy room overlooking the courtyard terrace so it was super quiet. Very comfy beds.
Annecy hotels are expensive so this offered very good value for money.
Would recommend it.
Hôtel du Château was a lovely place to stay, right next to the Château and right in the heart of the beautiful old town of Annecy. The views from the hotel were amazing. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The staff was very nice. Hotel very well located and cheap for Annecy. They even have a location of bikes for 13€ half-day which we did and that was amazing. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful contemporary hotel, situated at the lakeside.
Breakfast excellent - restaurant very good - staff throughout extremely helpful
Easy access / walk into Annecy old town
We had a corner room overlooking a small canal. Windows on 2 sides. The staff was wonderful and anticipated our every need. The hotel was amidst the old town charm of Annecy.
The hotel met our expectations. Its location was like the starting point of the old town area. You find yourself at the heart of all the beauties of Annecy within minutes.
