Le Grimaldi  

The hotel was located in a central area close to all amenities, but in a quiet and elegant street. The staff were very friendly and unintrusive. Our room was tastefully furnished and larger than most French hotel rooms we have stayed in. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We intend to return to this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recomend it to friends.

Location Staff were very kind and helpfully

We were traveling with friends and we were separated in two different hotel buildings. This made it a little incontinent, although not major.

Not a lot. The position is good for restaurants and not too far from the sea.

I complained at the time. Room: furniture broken, washbasin cracked, no view of mountains as promised. Lift broke down but we were not told so waited in vain. Alternative was a spiral staircase, very old and narrow, with handrail on the wrong side. Nobody seemed to care or help people down with luggage. They tried to charge us for breakfast we hadn't had and had to undergo an identity parade by the waiter to prove our point. A cramped reception/ lounge area. This is not a 4star hotel.

Pleasant area, enjoyable location, comfortable rooms, pleasant staff.

I would have liked breakfast served even if the price of the room was a little more. I found it unwelcome to add a sum to our daily price. Restaurant also seemed uninviting. To add to this, the neighborhood did have many pleasant restaurants.

The friendliness of the staff; the size of the hotel, the location near everything

Le Grimaldi was very well situated, close to shopping, restaurants and a few blocks from the beach front and the famous Negresco Hotel. The location was very quiet and our room faced onto a beautiful little church. We were also quite surprised to find available parking in the surrounding streets every night so did not have to spend unnecessary euros in a parking garage. Our room was beautifully decorated and beds were very comfortable. The room was very clean and the service was good. Although we did not take the breakfast option, the spread looked very nice. It was also great to have free internet access so I could communicate with my family regularly at home.

The only major problem was not having a proper shower cubicle - the shower attachment over the bath did not stay in place when water pressure was applied and sprayed water all over the floor.

A very cosy and romantic hotel with an excellentily situatied

The location was perfect, just far away enough from the action and yet still easy to access it. We had requested a room with a view of the church and we got it.

I was attacked by bedbugs at Le Grimaldi in room 603 on August 17 - 20. I just today returned to my home in the U.S. and saw my doctor, who prescribed 3 separate medications. I had to throw away most of my clothes.

The hotel was in a good location for sight seeing, eating out or going to the beach. It was only a short walk to the bus and rail stations so travelling to other places was extremely easy. The hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms were cleaned every day to the highest standard. Our room overlooked a church on a side steet and was very quiet at night. I would certainly go back to this hotel and would recommend it to others who wanted to stay in a good, clean, quiet hotel in Nice.

Near beach and old Nice

We were very satisfied with the room (#16). Good size and very clean plus a personal balcony. (not all rooms had that feature as we could sea) Good location, not to near the beach and friendly staff. Will for sure recommend this hotel to friends and book a room here next time in nice.

The only thing I can make a small complaint of was the entry to the hotel. I understand it is for safety / air con but it should be able to open up the door from the recepeption while handeling other guest. We were waiting outside for quite some time. I repeat.... small complaint so no big deal for me personally. We would stay at the hotel at any time in the future.
