The hotel is situated in a nice area, within short walking distance from the old town, seaside and the train station. The room was of good size and comfortable.

We had a series of issues with the hotel staff. One day they didn't clean the room at all, although we were out the entire day. Then we had a fire alarm one morning because someone serving breakfast burnt some toast in the kitchen, which triggered the fire alarm. We ran downstairs in a haste, and it turned out no one was too bothered with the alarm or at least with explaining us that everything was safe and we can return to our rooms. The lady serving breakfast (probably the one that burned the toast in the first place) didn't speak a word of English (!), and after our agitated questions as to what happened started yelling at us! The icing on the cake was when we were checking out, and found that someone had put the additional breakfast item on our bill, although we never set foot in the breakfast room. We had to argue for a while before that was taken off our bill. The only voice of reason among the hotel staff was a Ukrainian receptionist, but the overall impression with the hotel is still bitterly disappointing.

location is great, minifridge in the room is a plus. Intermarche just 50 metres away.

Personal can't work quickly and good during Saturday and Sunday's breakfast. There are a lot of peoples and haven't free places in breakfast. Need to wait about 25-30 min.

The very helpful Reception staff and the hotel's location being within walking distance of most of the important sites, the station and principal shops. Its value for money.

Nothing as it was perfect for our 4 night stay as tourists.

Very central location, small and quiet hotel. Good value for money and very good for lone female travellers.

Rooms were a little old fashioned and on the first night felt a little cold - but it was December! Also not particularly well sound-insulated.

The location.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. It's 2 star at very best. There was no breakfast service. You had to pre book it and have it sent to your room. There was no bar service. They could not provide an iron and ironing board. The place was like a ghost town with none of the 4 star amenities that you would expect. The Grimaldi markets itself way ahead of what the reality is. Buyer beware.

Kind and helpful staff, great location, felt very safe. My bargain of the year - a lovely, large room with an EXTREMELY comfortable bed. Will be back... often!!!

Leaving! If I were picky (which I usually am), the bath may have been a bit difficult to get into had I been elderly, but - knowing this hotel - they probably would not have given the room to anyone who would not have coped. This is a great place - just hope I can get another room there next time I need one.

The location was excelent , only a short distance to the shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were also excelent in p ointing out places of interest to visit, which we would not have picked out ourselves, also good places to eat. The room was very good and traditionaly furnished, and cleaned every day very well and we would certainly stay there again.

We had the breakfast one day , and we were slightly uncomfortable that they did not clear the table as you went through , so as the table was not very big it got rather messy trying to arrange and prepare the food (we are both not big eaters) but there was not enough room to enjoy breakfast properly, so we didn,t use it again.

Le Grimaldi is in an excellent location. You can easily walk to all the major sites in Nice & can get the tram or bus to Eze Village or Monocco as only few minutes walk away. Bus stop to & from airport is only 5 mins walk from hotel too. This hotel is good value for money in my opinion. I did not have breakfast however it is available at an extra charge & there is a restaurant & bar next door. I had a room with a balcony on the church side which was really nice.

Who said this hotel is a 4-star??? it has nothing to do with 4 stars and can barely be a 3-star hotel... Those pictures at booking.com are really exaggerated... This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in... Room #30 to be exact, but I'm sure all others are not better: 1. Walls are in mildew 2. No hot water in the morning, be prepared to take a shower before everyone so you have a chance to use it hot... 3. Old room, old hotel. It looks like it has never had a remodeling 4. The paint in the bathroom is peeling off 5. Spots on the bedcover 6. Even a body lotion in the bathroom wasn't new, someone used it already:)... 7. The sink had flaws...

Breakfast was served in a very small area and at Euros 15 per head was rather expensive for what one got.

The location is relatively quiet, right in the city - one does not need a car to come there. The bathroom was surprisingly beautiful compared to everything else in this hotel. The room had a minibar/fridge; the closet space was useful.

It was our second stay in this hotel - we stayed in 2007 and unfortunately booked here again. My impression from the first time was neutral, but this time the hotel managed to astonish with extremely poor cleanliness. We were assigned room 55 on the 5th floor, and when the elevator first took me there (alone) I thought I arrived at some housekeeping floor - the door would open into a narrow passage in almost total darkness. Well, the light got turned on and then VERY DIRTY carpet greeted the inmate. The dark brown carpet, all stained and worn out made a health-hazard impression. In the USA one would have a problem to find such carpet in the cheapest motel, and here it was a rather expensive hotel in a seaside resort...The room was quite small and very poorly furnished; the balcony had no chairs. The hotel's quality came as a shock compared to our previous place, Grand Hotel del Mare in Bordighera, where we paid slightly more but got so incomparably more! We booked Le Grimaldi for my husband's departure next day from the airport, but looking back, it would be much better to stay in GHM in Bordighera - the drive to the airport would be only 20 minutes more, but we would spare a shock of staying in this seemingly poverty-stricken property. On Saturday night September 8 there was a great carnival in Nice, the town was festive, and it is the thought of returning to the hotel that aggravated the mood somewhat. I felt lucky that we stayed only for one night. It is probably one of the most expensive hotels I've ever stayed considering what you've got for your money. Needless to say, the car parking is in the public garage for the additional pay, and breakfast is extra (we did not take). But it is the souvenir of the dirty stained carpet in the room that still makes me shiver with disgust. Avoid.

Lack of toiletery products in bathroom. Did ask for gluten free bread, but none was available for breakfast.

Central location, staff polite and excellent english, rooms immaculate

We stayed for 3 nights. The first night we were in a room where the air conditioning wasn't working properly. We complained 3 times before being moved to another room for the second 2 nights.

The location is excellent, near to everything.Staff is very -very friendly!!!! Clean room. Fair price for the Cote d'Azur. We will certainely come back!

Bathroom is very small. Not very much fresh coverage of furniture.
