The 3-star ibis Avignon Sud is in a great location 2 miles from the center of the city, a few minutes from the Pont d’Avignon, and a 2-minute drive from Avignon Convention Centre.

everything is good if you drive a car.
We arrived by car and this hotel had a great secure lot. Location was outside the old city, so was easy to go in and out of town to access surrounding areas. But not too far out, could drive into walled areas and parking lots in a few minutes. Hotel is on one floor, great access for my husband who has problem with stairs. Friendly staff, some English spoken, helpful with map and directions. Pretty pool!
wifi was free but only worked well in the lobby. Breakfast was a bit expensive 14 euro.
Rooms a bit tight for 2 people and luggage
Restaurant for dinner/breakfast -very nice. Staff - very helpful
Toilet/sink - half step up Shower/Bathtub - half step up
the warm welcome and friendly staff, the very high standard of cleanliness, the comfort of the bed, the attractiveness of the room, a simple well designed evening meal.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Really quiet and spacious room (overlooking the garden). Plenty of hanging/storage space. Lovely shower. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of free, secure parking outside. If you have a car, great location for getting straight onto the main roads for touring.
No lift to second floor (but they are installing one at the moment) so make sure you book ground floor if you can't manage stairs Dinner at the hotel was a bit overpriced for fairly average food Not within walking distance of the old town but there's a bus that stops outside and only a short drive
Reception Staff is very helpful and friendly.
the room aircon is not cold enough. end up poor quality sleep since room is pretty stuffy.
Staff were really nice.the restaurant was nice and the food good
The hotel was a distance away from the town of Avignon out on a limb
Excellent service from staff, in particular Indonesian lady at front desk on our arrival and the man who took over from her to do the evening shift.
That our stay in Avignon was not longer.
Great location, easy bus ride to old city so no hassles with driving, hotel set in very pretty peaceful surroundings, great to relax and have a drink in the evenings or breakfast in the garden. Staff very helpful and eager to answer any questions. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Nice outdoor pool and lounger area; beds comfortable; staff super-friendly and helpful; good breakfast for reasonable price
No elevator, but they are working on putting 1 in; location - no stores or restaurants anywhere nearby
Staff Clean Comfortable Free very secure parking Great location with a car
Breakfast was average, a bus group had cleaned up the stocks
Private secure parking. Peaceful surroundings.
Bathroom was very small in comparison to the rest of the room. A bit outside the downtown area (there is public transportation that stops right outside).
Location is only fair with no nice restaurants or bars within walking distance . Very think else was excellent value. On the plus side, it keep the drinking down as you had to drive to the restaurants !
Really comfortable bed and pillows, beautiful garden and pool area to come back to after a day if sight seeing. Hotel restaurant exceeded our expectations - better than a lot if the food served in the old town. And free secure parking.
Need a car to get around. Too far to walk into the old town, so need your own transport.
Ease of on site parking.
No lift to take cases up stairs. Lack of space in the room. Very small bathroom Very thin towels
The professionalism of the staff
The location suited us, as we hired a car and travelled around Provence, using the hotel as a base. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Facilities at the hotel were fine, but it is not in the town centre and there is a lack of shops and alternative bars and restaurants nearby.
Beautiful back yard with a swimming pool. The building was in such a great shape. Well maintained.
no gym. Other than that everything was very nice
It is a secure and clean place to pass the night.
We arrive at the hotel at 13-55 and was told that there was no food available until 19-00, not even a basket of bread or crisps was offered we were told to go to McDonald's! When the food arrived at 21-00 it was burnt and un eatable , I told the waitress who just took the food back , said that she would give my complaint to the kitchen staff, and that was then end of that. The bill was £26.00 each for the food, needless to say that we didn't, that stay for breakfast , no one even apologised !!
Location, staff (Yann was especially helpful), food and room quality
This hotel has quite recently reburbished and it shows. It is within 20 mins of the City Centre which MUST NOT be missed. So much to see and enjoy.
My husband and I stayed at hotel du Lavarin in September. Everything about our stay was fantastic. Location is brilliant especially if you have a car. We chose this because assured of free, on site parking. Bus stop is almost outside the hotel and was very cheap to go into the Old Town. Bed was amazingly comfortable and room wonderful. Extremely clean. Meals were of a high quality. It was great after a day spent tripping around countryside of Provence in rental car to come to peace and quiet and eat dinner in the garden! We enjoyed our breakfasts eachorni g I. The garden. I would highly recommend this hotel and not hesitate to stay again. All staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Thank you Patricia and Simon for a Fabius experience. This was our first time to France.
There was nothing to dislike except that we had to leave to go onto Nice!
Very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent parking. Breakfast decent though not memorable.
Awful location for the old city. We walked into the centre through what can only be described as a very dodgy neighbourhood and chose to get a taxi back, which wasn't easy on a Sunday night.
