Le Magnan  

We tayed at Le Magnan for 6 nights and found the atmosphere relaxing and the staff friendly. Rooms lead into a pleasant garden courtyard which is well buffered from the noise and bustle outside. Breakfast is served here when the weather is fine. The location, just within the south side of the city wall, is handy for both the Central Station and restaurants towards the city centre.

This hotel is located nearby a coach station, so we can easily go to many good place around Avignon such as Pont du gare (and very cheap). The hotel is very quiet and nice atmosphere.

A bit expensive...

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are small and ours was very hot with only a fan. The bathroom exhaust fan did not work so was very hot. The room was so small they should remove the desk so there is space for the luggage.

The room is very simple. Needs a thorough renovation.

On arrival in the evening and for 2 days thereafter we had no hot water, after a very long journey. We were offered a free breakfast each (8 euros) as compensation which we considered derisory and did not use the offer. We intend to seek financial compensation. Bed linen smelled of cigarette smoke. Bathrooms have no ventilation whatsoever, nor anything to hold soap or shampoo in the shower. We asked for an early wake up call on our departure date and the manager said he would programme the telephone in our room to achieve that - there was no wake up call and we nearly missed our 7am train. Sound insulation is poor - we were wakened by the noise of flushing toilets and ecstatic sexual activity in nearby rooms. In our view this is student accommodation (we are over 70) and at 96 euros a night grossly over priced.

Efficient staff, clean hotel and straightforward services

External appearance of hotel is disappointing. I am not sure I would have chosen this hotel if I hadn't make reservations in advance.

Le petit dejeuner sous le patio et la proximité du centre d'avignon font une bonne adresse pour visiter la ville. Acceuil trés agréable. Un parking non payant à côté est un +.

Prijs/kwaliteit korrekt

Personnel de l'hôtel bienveillant et soucieux de rendre service demandé. L’emplacement est très bien.

L'hôtel et les chambres mériteraient un rafraîchissement, voire une rénovation totale. L'isolation du bruit n'est pas bonne.

Fomos recebidos eu e minha esposa, muitíssimo bem pelo recepciosta da noite, e bem atendidos pela da manha do dia seguinte, todos muito empenhados para a comuniação multilingue. Muito bom. Esforço que não encontramos em muitos hotéis turísticos.
