Best Western Hôtel Richelieu  

The hotel is clean with very helpful staff.

The location is terrible and the wording of some of its description on this site is misleading to say the least 'This hotel, nestled between 2 historic pedestrian area. Best Western Hotel Le Richelieu is an exceptional establishment that offers calm and comfortable accommodation in a convivial atmosphere.' is completely untrue. The hotel is on a busy street with lots of traffic, there was no pedestrian area that we could see. Restaurants are a seriously long walk from the hotel. The rooms though clean and well kept are very small and cramped. The parking garage is fine when the hotel is not busy. But I would imagine it to be a total nightmare to park if it were not so.

Its location. The good welcome and recommendation for a restaurant. The room, although not very spacious, was comfortable.

Hotel was clean and utility - everything was there as needed. A practical and comfortable place to sleep in a location easily accessible to the centre of town. Staff were generally helpful.

1) The breakfast was 14 euros - we didn't take it up and went to cafes elsewhere for better value and more atmosphere. 2) The inner courtyard rooms have little or no view apart from the very small car parking area. Ask for a better view, (if there are any.) 3) Whilst perfectly acceptable as a hotel room, 'Superior' double room (room 4) did not 'feel' very superior and was quite small. It makes me wonder what the standard room is like. 4) Rather uninspiring look from the outside; booking.com shows pictures of a rather grand building. These are not pictures of the hotel as we supposed, but of the local town hall! Be aware that star rating in France relates to facilities, not the overall style and comfort of the hotel.

The room description of a superior room was not fulfilled and I felt very misled. The size and decor of the room was standard not superior.

The hotel was beautifully clean and well-decorated. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was substantial and very well presented.

Good central location. Cleanliness excellent.

We booked a parking space at a cost of 10 Euros a night. There was no information about the height restriction, which meant we had to take off a roof box in the middle of a busy city street, store it inside the vehicle as there was not space overhead to put it back on once in the car park. The space we were allocated was very small, there was insufficient space to manouver the vehicle and as a result we now have to pay for repairs to the bodywork. We would not recommend this hotel, which is unfortunate as we have not had any complaints when using Best Western Hotels before.

The room was quiet, clean, stylish and comfortable. The staff spoke good English and were very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is advertised as being 'nestled between two pedestrianised areas' which suggested that it would be close to both. In fact it is fairly equidistant but certainly not 'between' the two. My husband had walking difficulties at the time, and the hotel is quite far from the old quarter. I would recommend the hotel but would make it clear that is not as central as advertised.
