“I have stayed at this hotel many times now and the owner Richard and his partner continue to impress. The hotel is simply great - right on the square with the markets at your doorstep several times a week. And the rooms are fabulous. One of my truly favourite hotels.”

This is a lovely friendly historic (built 1628) beautiful basic-but-with-absolutely-everything-you-need village hotel at the heart of lovely Valbonne. Highly recommended. Ideal as a base for touring nearby picturesque Alps-Maritimes towns & villages, or Cannes, Antibes, Nice, etc. then returning to eat at one of the restaurants in the surrounding streets literally a few steps away from the hotel. Being at the heart of the village, you can hear the buzz of the local cafés until nearly midnight, but it isn't a problem.

Location, location! Ideally placed in the centre of the town adjacent to the main square, the rooms (we had a deluxe and a standard) were clean and comfortable and quiet at night. The staff were kind and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfasts were quite large and the coffee was excellent despite a lack of choice (see below). Overall a great place to stay and explore the area. The breakfasts were sufficient but the lack of choice - no cooked selection - could become tedious if you were staying for a week or more.

I like the historic building and is in walking distance of where my son lives in Valbonne. As it was a special occasion my son did not have room to accomodate too many people therefore the need for the hotel room. It is very friendly and accomodating, and is the second time I have used it and will do so again in the future.

The hotel was in the best location for us, we could walk to my brothers house! The beds were really uncomfortable, very soft, bad roll together... We had to ask to be moved and that room was better but not great. Shame because otherwise the hotel could have been idyllic as its so central, and valbonne is so pretty especially at christmas.

The decor is great and unique, and staff most friendly and helpful. The internet needs some boosting as I have very weak reception in my room. Also The room is not recommended for big/tall people as they are not big.

Interesting and attractive old building located right in the town square of a historic and picturesque small town. Not easy to find, and located some distance from nearest car parking.

Good location in the village of Valbonne which is only a short drive to Nice. Parking nearby. Good restaurants available. Our room was rather small but fine for a couple of nights.

Location is very cosy, on a little square in the old city centre, Breakfast was served outside on the little square. The lady at the reception was very nice. The hotel needs some maintenance.

All the staff, including the owners, were most helpful, co-operative and willing to provide advice. They assisted with medical problems and helped with flat tyre. They were flexible in allowing changes to itinerary. They were very proud of their small town of Valbonne. This is a delightful, small country town, with a central square, only half 20 minutes out of Nice. It provides access to the surrounding countryside and is a good base for relaxing and sightseeing. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast and advice on the nearby restaurants.

Location, as we had no car the bus service was key and was excellent value only 1 euro to Nice airport or 58 euro by taxi! In fact 1 euro to anywhere. Also many local restaurants to enjoy in the evening or for lunch. Excellent Friday market! Also local sign posted walks along the river or up along the hills! Also hotel people very helpful providing bus timetables and local knowledge! Felt very safe and everyone very friendly. Brilliant and very ample breakfasts served. Although in the brochure there was no mini bar.

The hotel is in an old armory built in the 1600s. It is located right on the town square, where you step outside the door and are right in the middle of the square with outdoor cafes, shops and restaurants all around. There are several restaurants within a few short steps, located on tiny side streets which branch out from the square. The cobblestone streets and limestone buildings put you into a by-gone era. I had a "superier" room which was a good price compared to other hotels I checked. The room, however, was very, very small. Adequate, but not much more. On the plus side, the internet connection was excellent, although there were not very many electric outlets. I found 2, and one of the 2 was used for the TV and mini-bar. I was traveling on business with 2 other colleagues, and they had rooms on the first floor which were very roomy - almost palatial, so it is possible to have more space for a higher price. If this is important to you, get at least 1 level higher than the lowest rated room. Because of the age of this hotel, I still find even the small rooms quaint and charming in their own way.

Lovely medieval hotel in the village of Valbonne, just minutes from Cannes, Nice and Antibes. The Hotel is located at the beautiful main square, surrounded with cosy restaurants of high standard. The hotel offers a nice atmosphere, the service was excellent, nice and generous breakfast and the room I stayed in was great. High standard and comfortable beds. The owner's dog Enzo was one of the best portier I've ever met;)

Intimiteit.
