Extremely helpful with how to get around town and with restaurant suggestions. It is in a good location off the main roads so not too noisy. All in all a very pleasant stay.”

It was nicely located, close to the beaches and the tourist area, not far from the train station and sights we could walk to. Hotel staff was very helpful. Room was large. Hotel and rooms were very clean. The shower enclosure/doors were tiny even though there was space for a larger unit. Thank goodness we are 'fit' people! The air conditioning did not work well. We needed to duck our heads getting to the bed due to the low slope of the ceiling. The windows were dormers, very high up. We could not see out of them. It was expensive for what we received.

The only positive comment we have is that the hotel reassured us about its 24 hour reception service when we were in communication about our late arrival, caused by an accident on the line which delayed our TGV by more than 2 hours. Small, basic room with tired furnishings did not provide for money. We saved €40 by switching to a much nicer hotel for our second night in Nice.

Very helpful staff - supplied map and discussed places worth visiting on arrival; great location - all places within easy reach: public transport, beach, restaurants, shopping etc; hotel and room very clean, crisp bed sheets, comfy bed and pillows, bathroom with both bath and shower - maids in daily to clean and with clean towels etc. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend to others for the above reasons. Breakfast was expensive although there was a range of items to select but comparing with prices in surrounding cafes it was highly priced.

The hotel is well located, near to the beach and the old town. The walls from the rooms are no so good soundproof so you will hear all the annoying sounds from your neighbors.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They recommended places to eat, lent us towels for the beach, answered our many questions, and generally made us feel welcomed. The location is close to shopping, dining, and the beach. A charming and affordable boutique hotel! The only shortcoming was the poor (unusable) WiFi reception in our room. Better in the lobby, but not so convenient. They plan to improve this in the next few months.

Front desk was wonderful & welcoming, explaining sights etc. Appreciated the safe in the room. Our room was tiny, corner shower was tiny! Could hardly turn around at all in the shower. Looked at the breakfast, decided to go elsewhere as offering was limited & expensive. This hotel did not live up to the reviews I had read.

Central location was appealing. Rooftop terrace was a nice place to relax. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Shower cubicle was cramped. Shower doors were difficult to operate. Absence of bidet. Room was small.

The hotel was just what we wanted. We were given a very quiet room, the facilities in the room were more than adequate. Would have been nice to have a kettle for a cup of tea or coffee. Breakfast was okay but a little over priced for what was available. The front desk staff were very friendly, obliging and helpful. The location is fantastic, close to everywhere. The train station is about a 15 minute walk, better to catch a taxi. Check the price when going from the hotel to the station though. Nice itself was wonderful. The old city was very interesting and enjoyable to walk around, a lot of history. The beach is great and the closeness to Antibes was a bonus, a quick local train ride. Places such as Grasse, St Paul de Vence and the mountain village of beautiful Gourdon are worth a visit. A half day tour incorporated these places. Overall I would recommended the Les Cigales Hotel.

The hotel is in a convenient location, close to the main attractions of Nice, as well as an easy bus ride plus walk from Nice Airport and an easy walk to the train station. Everything worked well in the hotel. No problems with the hotel itself, though I should have requested a change of room from the one directly off the hotel lobby near the elevator. Future guests are advised not to stay in Room 3 or 4.

Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Excellent location. We three adults shared a large family room with more than enough space for our luggage. Buffet breakfast good - all in all it was our best stay of the three hotels we stayed in. Nothing

The Cigales is a clean, comfortable hotel in an average location for Nice. The rooms were well furnished and large, it was in easy walking distance to a small pedestrian area and the promenade. (Though it was quite far from Vieux Nice and the port.) They had beach mats and umbrellas to borrow, and the staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. It was just fine, but that's it. I debated and debated about where to stay in Nice, and chose this based on reviews and it's recommendation in Lonely Planet. I think it's over-hyped. It's basically just a totally fine hotel. The location was fine, the room was fine, etc. When booking I was also seriously considering the Le Royal, Albert 1er and the Mercure Nice Marche Aux Fleurs. They were all around the same price. Obviously I don't know what the interior of the other hotels looked like, but I'd prefer all of their locations (the Mercure MaF in particular). If I were to do it again I would stay closer to the Promenade and Vieux Nice. I don't mean to put the Cigales down, as I said it was a perfectly adequate hotel that was clean and furnished well. It just wasn't anything special and I think overpriced for what it is.

Friendly, quiet, close to everything and all. The price was right for us. Willing to work out problems. I booked a room for 2 and was given a double bed. No where was I asked if I wanted 2 single beds. The person I traveled with was very upset when she saw just one bed. We were given a folding bed and all went well.

The rooms were clean, and the staff was helpful. We took this hotel based on the fact that it was among the top 10 hotels in Nice on tripadvisor. Unless the quality of hotels in Nice is downright abyssmal, this cannot be true. The room was tiny, and the bed tinier. On the first night, we were given a room with double bed, and we were hardly able to sleep. The fact that the ac was not working properly made things worse. However, next day, after we got ourselves shifted to a room with twin beds, it was possible to sleep.

Very nice staff, very good location and quiet, room and specially the bathroom was pretty clean, They don't provide any parking for your car if you travel with your car and the nearest public parking is too expensive (24 euro /day) but its relatively close to the hotel (4 blocks away).
