The 2 staff members we had contact with were very helpful, the receptionist even moving her car to allow us to park in their car park- we had not realised there was a need to book it- . its position on the riverbank was ideal for sightseeing on both the river and for the old town. Plenty of bars/bistros nearby. The bed was comfortable, linen and bathroom furniture all clean. The decor is tired, whilst we had a room facing the river with a balcony , it was noisy during the day with busy traffic and outside patio doors that did not close properly so left with single glazing. No air con and would not have been safe to leave patio door open. The room was very small but adequte for a nights stay. Carpet fraying around the edges and tiles above shower were broken. If booking the carpark you would have to have a car less than approx 180cm high as we just scrapped in at 175cm.

We used this hotel as a stop over from a trip back from the south of France. We selected Rouen as it only left a 2 hour drive to Calais the following day. This hotel was selected on price and previous reviews. We couldn't have been more pleased. The staff were fantastic and the secure parking an added bonus. The hotel is convenient for bars & restaurants which are only a short walk away. I would strongly recommend this hotel, it's not the Ritz but certainly good enough for any short break.

Good compromise between price, comfort and location. The family room was comfortable and clean, with a nice bathroom and ample wardrobe. Free WiFi was appreciated.

The location was great just a minutes away from the city centre. As we were driving it was great to have access to secure car park. Our room was one with balcony that we have requested overlooking the river. The road in front of the holiday is very busy and some may find it very noisy. For us it was fine as we live in london (we are use to busy roads) and once the balcony doors was closed it was fine. The staff at the hotel very pleasant and we got great good night sleep.

The fact that the hotel has it's own secure parking so you don't have any worries about your vehicle or it's contents. The hotel is only a 2 star hotel so bear this in mind when booking. It is clean and comfortable with a good hot shower - which is basically all you need for an overnight stop. For a city centre hotel it is good value for money and if you have a room at the front of the hotel you have a balcony and overlook the Seine. As to be expected in a city hotel there is some traffic noise but there are double glazed doors onto the balcony which screen you from most of this. Walking distance to centre of Rouen, so good if you are wanting to explore the city. Very efficient friendly staff who also speak English.

The location was excellent. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Seine. The Manager came to our assistance one evening. Unfortunately, we did not have enough cash to pay the bill in a local restaurant after our credit card could not be used during a power cut and ATMs were also out of action. The restauranteur accompanied us back to our hotel and the Manager settled the account on our behalf instantly. We were extremely grateful to Mr Pierre Durieu (the Manager) for coming to our aid, as he was not obliged to do so.

We needed somewhere to stay for one night on our way back from our holiday to Bordeaux. L'hotel Angleterre fits the bill! Reasonably priced, good location and well-presented. We had a family room which was spacious, clean and very well received after a very long drive from Bordeaux. We were going to arrive late (desk closes at 10am so code needed) and the staff could not have been more helpful to us. Our host was attentive and we had a lovely breakfast to start our second part of the journey home to England. Many thanks!

Excellent budget hotel for a short stay, good location local to old city center. Safe underground car parking real bonus with bikes on back of the car and roof box. Good breakfast selection. No air con so warm at night. Was hoping to get a view of the Seine, however looked out over flats at the rear. Room was actually 2 doubles and 1 single so was a little cramped.

It was right in the city. No frills. An overnight stop on the way to a holiday. There was no shampoo, soap, etc. We had a family suite- 2 rooms next to each other and couldn't prop the doors open which was a pain. No restaurant. No hot breakfast.
