Lutetia38, Allées Léon Gambetta, 13001 Marseilles (Show map) Good, Score from 224 reviews“The staff were very friendly and helpful, and recommended some amazing places to eat at. The hotel was well located, in between the train station and the centre (Vieux Port). The rooms were small but comfortable - and the prices very reasonable (the reason we chose the hotel).”

The room was clean. It is located only a few minutes by foot from the Old Port, however, the neighborhood is not the best and you may feel unsafe to return to the hotel at night. I would also not recommend this hotel if you are travelling by car. It is almost impossible to find a parking place on the street and the official public parking is far too expensive. You can buy a 24-hour parking pass from the hotel reception for the cost of 10EUR/day, but be aware that, although it is a 24-hour pass, it expires at midday. Because of that, at the end, I had to pay two days of parking pass for staying 24 hours. Besides, the hotel has only two parking passes for all rooms and you cannot book it, first come, first serve. Finally, the curtains in the room were not thick enough and we were not able to make the room dark enough for a good sleep.

The hotel is clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When my beachtowel was accidentally taken by housekeeping (it was also white), I asked at the reception and they already had it safely stored. The rooms are small, not much view, and claustrofobic small shower, but that's ok. (It's what you pay for..) It was very noisy with the closing of doors. The doors and our neighbours were pretty loud.

Friendly and helpful staff; reception etc. with good local knowledge and advice. Excellent location and price. Comfortable bed and adequate heating. Adequate storage/wardrobe. Good buffet breakfast (extra charge). Small quibles only = Tiny lift. Bedroom was small for two people. No powered extract to bath/shower room. Missing knobs on air conditioning controls. Cursory bed making (just pulling covers over). Cleaning of shower room not very thorough. Shower head leaked.

Although on a main road it was very quiet inside. The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. It was good value for money and the staff were friendly and nice. Central,y located near the train station and city it was a ice stroll into town, or a quick tram ride if we wanted to take public transport.

Nice, no-nonsense little hotel. Tiny room and cramped bathroom but both were comfortable enough. AC in our room worked great. Staff was very nice and all front desk people spoke English. Seemed like a good location. Room was non-smoking (I think) but smelled like smoke...was rather difficult to find a parking space.

Location of this hotel was excellent for seeing the city and shopping. Price was also good. The room was a bit small, but very European. Perfect for me alone, but it would be tight for a couple or family. The staff were really friendly. I'd stay again.

Nice hotel to spend few days in Marseille. The room was clean and the staff cleaned it every day to my surprise (I thought for two star hotel it's kind of optional). Internet worked fine, too. The shower room was also clean and even had a bidet. It's worth to mention that the conditioner worked perfectly in the room - that helped as the temperature outside was about 30 C. There are few. Breakfast is to expensive for that kind of service: it's really better to go out and have a real "petit dejeuner à la francais" in one of the numerous cafes near the hotel (it's really in the center of the town!). And yes, the lift is very very small; actually it's like a normal lift being cut to make it twice as narrow. The surroundings are really gloomy. But this is typical for the center of Marseille. The main avenue (Canebiere) is very gloomy in the evening.

The hotel is very centrical. It was easy to find it and walk the the port. The staff was really nice, and helpful and as we have arived early in the morning we didn't expect to get the key to our room after 10. However, as soon as we came the receptionist call the cleaning staff and confirmed if the room is ready and we recived our keys. In my opinion the breakfast is quite expensive for what it was, Instead paying 8 eur person we decided to go for much cheeper brekast to the little french cafes. What was really uncomfortable was the fact that room was very humid and nothing would dry. The suronding of the hotel are not the nicest one, but we felt safe ( however we were back to the hotel always around 10 o'clock just in case ).

The location. It's quality: The roof was leaking badly in our room. The pipes and drains made terrible noise and stuff was bubbling UP from the toilet. Breakfast was below any standards (rotten eggs, no tea, "buffet" self-service from refridgerator).

The hotel is 5min walk from the main marina area, 5 minutes from the train station. Very central. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The entire central Marsaille area is not the most tourist inviting, that said the main tourist areas are only a short walk away and really worth visiting!

The staff was great. Always friendly and helpful. Our room was fairly small, but a big room wasn't needed. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The location was great, located by a beautiful cathedral and just down the street from the train station. Also a pretty quick walk from the port. Also located near a metro. We had a great stay.

The staff were brilliant right from the start. We asked them for a map and they went through everything that we should do on it and suggested good beaches to visit. They were really helpful. Bed was too soft and the bathroom was fine however if i was a little larger it would become a very tight squeeze.
