Hotel Meurice    

for the question that asks "which of the following best describes hotel meurice" i tried to check budget friendly and romance tho i dont know about calais being a romantic area. didnt have enough of a chance to check out the area. the hotel is beautiful, room lovely and well appointed, cool dog, helpful staff with good grasp of english, wifi, best breakfast ever!!! somewhat convenient to both stations and ferry. (tho 13 minute cab ride to the chunnel) did i say best breakfast ever?

im having a hard time coming up with something i didn't like about hotel meurice.

Helpful staff, nice interior of the hotel, resembles more a museum than a hotel, clean room, medium size, quite some choices for breakfast. Good deal!

This was a fantastic stay - the hotel is very comfortable and stylish and the staff were so helpful. Stunning.

Nothing - it was terrific value for money.

We love this hotel - it is comfotable and relaxed and everyone is very friendly both to us and to our two dogs. The food in the restaurant is wonderful and breakfast is excellent and sets one up for the day ahead.

All very old world very clean, comfty beds and breakfast was more than pleasant.

Tv volume was set way to low if you have not got good hearing. I think they need to up it a little bit I could hear the grass grow and it eas to low for me

Proximity to the car ferry and the value for money.

We liked the hotel very much but felt that the restaurant food was not very good in view of the price.

Lovely hotel. Good lively location, plenty of bars / cafes / restaurant nearby. Rooms clean and well decorated. Interesting old 'French' style hotel with lots of furniture items around. A very grand building with lots of character

The room was rather cold . When I asked about it I was told the heating would not Be switched on til 7 pm. I was however given a fan heater to warm the Room until then

I liked the charm of the typically French style. The staff are very friendly and helpful and accept dogs which is why I booked it. We will visit again.

the bed was comfy. the room was spotless and maid very good

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Upgraded at no extra cost and room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast very good.

What a find....old world hotel with the most fabulous restaurant attached

Rooms were clean.The staff were very friendly and helpfull. The Restuarant food was good and also enjoyed the breakfast. I loved the sweeping staircase and the decor. :-) We booked one night then went back and booked another two!

The typical french style of the hotel, very quirky, would definitely stay again!

Warm and welcoming reception. Interesting furniture and paintings. Lovely conservatory for breakfast. Best breakfast in France. The bedroom was stylishly furnished and decorated. Big bathroom with bath and shower. Window overlooked quiet courtyard with flowering cherry tree.

Really surprised by the decor inside. Independently run, beautiful antiques, lovely decor, friendly staff, lovely buffet breakfast including freshly squeezed orange juice. Immaculately clean. Will definately use again.

Faded and jaded splendour with a delightfully helpful staff. Everything works, it's location is superb for town and ferry and the Rue Royal, two minutes walk away, has many nice bars, bistros,cafes and restaurants as an alternative to dining in. One of the best and comprehensive breakfasts you will find in France.

The fact that the hotel was individual in terms of style and furnishings and it had a very French feel about it. The staff were all excellent combining friendliness with professionalism.

great spot for the Tunnel. quirky design and fittings, very much "faded", but still lovely. breakfast is the best in France. superb choice and beautifully presented.

the dog barking at reception. the shower fitting would not go up to a useable height.

Great staff. Beautiful hotel if old and elegant is what you are looking for. Great location.

A little pricey.
