We have stayed at Hippotel many times as we enjoy having the kitchen/dining facilities and patio/balcony. We prefer to be a step away from the town centre - but can still stroll into town Because we know it well, we know what to expect. Have noticed improvements each time we have stayed - and the decking area at the front entrance is a lovely addition.

It's location. It's in the green area of the village/ town and away from the hustle and bustle of the Centre. It has a good restaurant nearby. The room fittings. Very cheap. Gave the impression that they could come off any minute. Shower/ bathroom facilities also not practical.

Easy access, close to center, quiet environment, ample parking space, polite staff Wifi is only available in the lobby and cuts the active connection every 5 minutes asking you to log in again. Wifi needs a login and password which is handed out at reception, the login is only valid for a day so you have to request a new one the next day. Room is comfortable but misses a lounge chair or couch to read a book or watch tv. Beds were a bit less comfortable but that's a personal observation.

The location and setting were fantastic. Even though next to stables and airport, we didn't get disturbed by either. Where to start: bed rock hard, pillows were a cloth stuffed into a case, kitchen didn't have microwave (this was reserved for the French guests), shower flooded into children's sleep area, exposed rotting around floor areas in toilet etc. Not a very pleasant place to stay with children.

We very much liked the room, like a tiny apartment, and the fact that staff did not interfere. We could come and go as we liked. The reception staff were all very nice and helpful. On the whole, I would stay here again. The situation is pleasantly countrylike. Negatives: The floors in the room, especially the shower-room and wc, were very dirty. I don't think the cleaner knows about corners and proper cleaning. We would have liked a bath mat. The breakfast was abysmal and the staff in the dining-room rushing about and unfriendly.

The beds were comfortable. It was in a great, quiet location. It was comparatively cheap. A room was available on Friday and Saturday. (Most other Le Touquet hotels were full on Saturday) It is a tired hotel which looks as though it hasn't been modernised for several years. The bath/ shower plughole was blocked which meant the waste water backed up into the bath. I asked for it to be cleared the first night we were there. Nothing was done about it during our stay. There were two coach loads of British schoolchildren at the hotel during our stay. At times the reception area etc was crowded and noisy. We were handed a tray of cutlery by the reception staff when we arrived. The self- catering facilites are an absolute minimum.

Leaving it. Room was small and cramped. Noise from outside kept us awake. Breakfast was ok but expensive. No parking facillities, had to park on the road which was pay-and -display.

The staff were friendly and spoke good English, although with one question about parking in the town seemed confused. Handed leaflets that for most part were in French, which I could partly understand. Room was very clean, though sparse and dated, The beds were good but the facilities very basic, but compared to the price offered value for money. A nice cheap stopover for a break not too far from all the towns and facilities nearby. We had the breakfast first morning at 8 euros per person which I would not recommend. Again very basic and found better to buy in supplies. Supermarkets not too far. If you plan to cook you will need to take basic items and there is no oven or microwave, just rings to cook on. In summary, what you pay for is what you get. All was good, except breakfast, which for 8 euros could have been a lot better, and we weren't made to feel very welcome when we went in for it, more like a nuisance!

The staff were polite and freindly and always available when we needed them. The family room was basic but clean and tidy and for the monmey was excellent value for money in our opinion. The children especially liked having their own seperate bedroom area. Only that we did not have a kettle to boil hot water or utensils and had to go down to the reception which whilst that wasn't a real problem it would have been nice to have had those items in the room on our arrival. However, maybe guests have been stealing these item in the past and therefore they are kept at reception to try and limit this.
