This is a lovely place. Tony the owner, and Marco were very helpful. Spoke enough English to assist me quite well. Suggest you travel light and walk from train, or definitely spend the 10 euro each way for taxi to the hotel, then it's very easy to walk up and down the hills to get around, or catch the 1 euro bus to Nice or Monico, right outside the hotel.

Unpretentious accommodation at a good price in an expensive location. Steep hills in the town but quick and easy access to the old town, historic waterfront, eating places and bus stops. Helpful staff. I didn't pick up on the location on a main road and with other roads nearby until after booking - maybe my fault. It would also have been helpful to have had clearer directions on how to reach the hotel on foot from the town's train station.

Excellent location; The sea view room had a great view of the bay. Hotel is rather "tired"; in need of a facelift!

The room keys are attached to pretty prove cal material lavender bags: shame they're grubby and old though. It was conveniently located for the occasion. Air conditioning worked well. Expensive for the very basics. Damp problem on the bedroom wall from the poor bathroom sealant, no shower curtain not really helpful. Staff never really made any effort to offer the facilities (free wifi???) or breakfast, so I didn't bother. The whole place is very tired and worn, but clean and basic.

Location, though very hilly and steep, if steps don't bother you, a very central place to see everything This was our second visit to hotel for our wedding anniversary, thought as we were returning guests we might of been treated a little special. Appreciate its a business, the staff seemed bored and uninterested, even though we recognized them from last year. Room was the size of a shoe box, bathroom was dirty, had to hold shower in your hand as no fixture on wall no soap in holder, mini bar had opened sweet rappers in it, did mention this as didn't want to be charged. Villefranche is an enchanting place, hasn't put me off going back next year, will just spend my money elsewhere.

Te hotel; whilst small and outdated, did possess a certain amount of charm. I must say that a new carpet and a bit of decorating would improve the place greatly. The bedroom was very small but had character, a nice balcony and a pretty, although smelly, en-suite. The staff were friendly and polite. All in all it represented fair value mor the price.

Not a bad location. Air conditioning was new. Helpful friendly staff. Excellent locale to get a bus to Monacco. Go early! Reasonably quiet. No lift for people only luggage. We were three floors up. No extra pillows provided in room. Decor could do with a make over. Not close to the beach.

Its location was convenient and it had a good parking garage. The internet had continous problems. Even in room 503,which was about 20 meters from the router, the signal was very weak and kept dropping. This is very frustrating when trying to relax and enjoy the stay.

Hotel is old but had a nice and modern decoration. Rooms are spacey and comfortable, hotel stuff very friendly and helpful. Good location too. No elevator for guests but only a tiny one for your luggage, breakfast not included in the price.

Staff was great and helpful (just don't talk to the maid, she's a grumpy one!). :) Great location, conveniently close to old town. We really enjoyed our stay in Villefranche-Sur-Mer. It's a great midway point if you want to go to Nice, Monaco, Eze, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, but without the high priced hotel of these busier areas. The toilet practically didn't flush. The shower head literally came off when I turned on the water. The staff was always willing to help though and tried to make it right.

The location was at the edge of the old town of Villefranche which is beautiful and so this suited us well. The reception area does not make a great impression, it is grubby and the old carpets are a real turn off. The room was better and the balcony and aircon was its saving grace.
