We stayed at the St. Martin for the Christmas Market and requested a room with a view that overlooked the street. They were very accommodating and the room was cozy with a wonderful view of part of the market.
They have one of the smallest elevators we have ever see. Two people and a suitcase is about all that would fit. But it does the trick. We never had their breakfast. It seemed way too pricey. We walked to a wonderful little bakery a few door down for coffee and pastry for a fraction of the cost.
Location, old hotel building
night staff (one guy) not very helpful
Very cute little hotel in the heart of the old town Colmar. Location better than you can imagine - all Christmas markets, the main attractions and restaurants within walking distance. Around beautifully decorated half-timbered houses. Quiet, clean, cozy, comfortable, warm room. Excellent wi fi signal. Friendly staff.
Location, friendly staff.
Breakfast could have been a bit more varied.
Location, room, breakfast - everything
Bed a bit soft for me but that is all
This hotel is absolutely fantastic. An old hotel with the "Alsace- feel", it was great for me and my wife. One of the cleanest hotels that we have ever stayed, excellent service and perfect central location since we were there for the Christmas Market (Les Marchés de Noël). My view was the inner courtyard, which was perfect since a real "view" would have been to the Grand Rue and probably would have been noisy (or maybe not who knows). We did not experimented the breakfast (12 euros), but we literally went to the place next door for breakfast, which was fantastic. Highly recommended, especially for those planning on doing the Les Marchés de Noël.
Excellent location. Quiet from outside with tight windows.(rather bit sounded indoor). Small elevator. #102 room facing awesome yard & streets of Colmar. Fridge in room. Bathtub! Lovely down pillows. Courtyard with tower with beautiful spiral stone stairs. PCs in Lobby. Candies and Postcard can be picked up:)
Smell of bathroom( noxious..) & bleach from bed sheets. Old trad bed-makings(prefer duvet). I really don't mind slightly dated conditions at all but sensitive for odour even it's fragrance..
Very nice hotel, spacious and beautiful room and bathroom, excellent location in the old town.
Breakfast was good, but breakfast room sometimes very crowded. Breakfast did not include into the price and was rather pricey.
Helpful staff Good standard in nice old building Wifi in order Good bathroom Reasonable price in october at least Really central to reach all other interesting places in the city
This hotel was close to everything in beautiful Colmar. Hotel staff was very friendly and gave wonderful recommendations for dinner. The beds were hard, but room was spacious and very clean. Idealic hotel with the traditional German influence.
Off site parking was slightly inconvenient. Breakfast was not included and expensive, but a great bakery was next door.
expensive not working air conditioning
Best location possible! In the heart of historic Colmar. Great rooms and service.
the location is perfect, just in the city center
Charming old-world hotel right in the heart of Colmar. Great location for sight seeing in the old town. Schwendi winestube right across the street serves all kinds of Alsatian specialties. Appreicated the free wifi. 15 minute walk to the train station, which we found invigorating.
Staff seemed a little overrun by so many faces to really make a personal connection. Understandable I guess, but there were times we'd come in and they'd be more involved in studying their finances (or whatever it was) than greeting us. A little impersonal, but nevertheless everyting else was in order so guess that's all that matters.
Everything about this hotel was superb. location, individuality of the rooms, the staff, the cleanliness. The warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble, so much better than the impersonal nature of the large chain hotels. Loved it and have recommended it to family and friends.
Easy access to old town, good breakfast selection, interesting decor
Some of front staff not friendly nor helpful with questions, eg directions, facilities
Staff friendly and helpful, promptly dealing with our requests plus providing basic tourist information. Excellent breakfast. While the bedroom was small, the modern bathroom made up for it. Fantastic location.
Could not get better location, servicean or ambience, try to get rooms 15 or 16 for a fabulous balcony.
Could do with better pillows.
location, location, location ...
The bed was a bit too soft, the pillow a bit too thick. My MacBook Air failed to connect to the web (iPad did fine).
Expensive for the room and breakfast
The location is superb, right in the centre, the car park worked well enough for a public park, staff were friendly, breakfast good if expensive, well fitted out, we liked the decor. A most comfortable and clean room.
Breakfast was expensive at 12 euros. We had a room right by the door at top so stairs and every entrance through the door we noticed (room 14) the noise and door closing. Otherwise a good visit
I arrived after 21h30 and was welcomed by a young man at the reception desk. Before going to my room,I asked him if there were tea facilities in my room. He said no but a while later he brought me a kettle,a cup and saucer on a little tray, and a little basket filled with a selection of teas.I was very grateful and really appreciated his kindness. I found that every member of staff was very helpful and pleasant. Of course the hotel is very well situated in the old town and very convenient wherever one wants to go. I enjoyed the breakfast, the coffee was good and there was no shortage of any food. Being in Alsace,I had been hoping to find pretzels for breakfast but there was a good selection of breads, croissants, pains au chocolat and so on. I will stay in that hotel again and I recommend it strongly.
The locality of the hotel and the hotel itself are very beautiful. The hotel is very clean, the facilities are excellent. We even had a flowery terras we could go out from the room.
Great location in central Colmar close to restaurants and shops. The covered market is in walking distance and there is a bakery next door with coffee to go if you want to find your own breakfast. We had a very pleasant stay in the wonderful old building.
Rooms were small, but in France all rooms are small. Breakfast was extra cost, but again, this is France. Parking was a few blocks away but free and reasonably close.
