Surprised not to find any marmalade, jams or jelly at an otherwise breakfast.
The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. The rooms were delightfully furnished despite being quite small. The breakfast is well worth the extra payment in a charming, well laid out breakfast room and if the sun smiles on you in a quaint courtyard and the situation in the town is perfect. It is also well signed posted from the free centre of town parking area - the Vielle Ville (spelling might be a little out!) which is very close by.
Nothing- Highly recommended
we wanted a big, spacius and silent room but they gived us a roof-room that's it was too small and low ceiling.
Excellent location, clean generally and nice bathroom also clean. Parking only payable in 2 mins walk distance, but payable only during the day (free from 8pm till 9am, if I remember correctly).
The trade for the location was the size of the room (I would expect if to be a bit bigger for the price we payed, unless this is what 'traditional' means) and the loud church bells every hour during the night. Only bath in the bathroom and no shower holder.
Location. The room with 4 poster bed was very spacious. Fabulous view on to Main Street.
Difficulty to find from station
Some room s without lift, no hot water for a while but suggestion to change room
the room was beautiful
-the staff were extremely rude -the cost of breakfast was not noted anywhere except on the final bill - that cost being 12 euro per person, per day for bread and fruit -the entire town with the exception of two places, seemed to drip disdain for tourists all the while having their postcard and nicknack displays -we had been to Paris and were treated with respect and a friendly attitude but Colmar was quite the opposite -if you''re looking for a small wine area forget Colmar, stick to the German Weinstrasse: authentic, genuine, and very welcoming!
- location! - friendly personnel - lovely old building
- price a bit high ... but that´s owed to the location - shower a bit small, but what to expect from such an old building
Lovely comfortable room with an amazing bathroom! The hotel was right in the middle of town and made exploring easy and fun.
Really noisy although to be honest thats not the fault of the hotel.
Excellent location right in centre - we had a wonderful view over the square toward the tannery quarter. Excellent shower and refurbished bathroom. Hair dryer was a bit old fashioned, but not a problem. Breakfast was quite pricey but of very good quality. Free parking within easy walking distance. Would stay here again and recommend to others.
Very central location
On a four-night stay, towels only changed once and bedding not at all Difficulty in finding space in public car parks
The location in the Grande Rue was very good and central to the town, everything within easy walking distance. It is a lovely old building and while this makes for somewhat quirky layout, the room was both pleasant and quaint. We could see the storks nesting on top of the cathedral from the window.
We always need more table/desk space.
This hotel is housed in a mediaeval building which retains many of its original features including stone spiral staircases and an atmospheric inner courtyard. The furnishings have been selected to enhance this atmosphere. All the facilities you would expect of a modern hotel are here but sympathetically incorporated into the fabric of the building.
You cannot match the location of this hotel. Step out your door and you are in the center of one of the more beautiful towns in France. Our room was quiet since it opened to a courtyard. I would imagine that street facing rooms would be a little noisy. The breakfast was great. The rooms were large enough for a boutique hotel. There were so many places to eat and drink within steps of the hotel it was hard to choose. Parking is off site but free and was no problem.
Carpets and furnishings were a little worn and dated. WIFI was a little slow
We thought that The St Martin Hotel was Classy Classic Hotel in the perfect place to explore Colmar which is a very pretty historic Alsace Town, the hotel was efficiently run by a very helpful, professional and friendly staff
Location is excellent - right in the heart of the old town. Hotel has period charm and character, but also the convenience of a lift and air conditioning. We were very happy with both the rooms we booked.
We were in chamber 27 which was a standard double. Spacious bathroom and it was good to have simple things like clothes hooks, plenty of towel rails and enclosed shower. Fabulous position.
Only one person could be on the Internet at a time and it kept dropping off.
Clean comfortable rooms good wi fi excellent buffet breakfast.Polite and helpful staff.
We love the location. This is our third stay here.
Finding our way there on oneway streets.
The staff was do friendly and helpful and the location was outstanding.
The location can't be beat. You are pretty much in the center of everything. Plus there are wonderful cafes, restaurants, and a rather nice grocery store all very nearby. The staff was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much and have made our reservations to stay at the Hotel Saint-Martin for the Christmas Market in late November.
Parking can be a little bit of a problem. There is no onsite parking. There is a free outdoor parking lot very close, but getting a spot there can be difficult. Once you're able to park, you don't have to worry since Colmar is best seen on foot. So you don't need your car until you're ready to leave.
Lucky to get parking close by but I am sure the local parking would be close if required.
Great location, clean hotel, very friendly staff and reception, free wi-fi.
No elevator, high pillows
LOCATION. ok for one night
Small room. noise from patio in morning
