Whilst the hotel is outside of the old city, it is close to a metro station, which is only 2 minutes ride from Lyon center. we did not try the hotel dining facilities but one evening ate at the Italian next door which was OK. Our bedroom was a good size and comfortable.
The price and the pillows.the rate charged for the special weekend was almost double!!
I had to cancell 1night (2 rooms) due to medical reason of my friends who accompanied me at the annual "Fête des Lumières " in Lyon France. All hotels were booked and I am sure that there was a possibility to reassign these 2 rooms. I did no find any understanding or assistance of the hotel staff for cancelling this night (2 rooms). I will never use Best Western any more!
I liked the large bedroom, and excellent shower.Good to have tea making facilities.Great television.Great double bed for chilling out on,Nice and peaceful. Not noisy.
That the Safety deposit box was awkward to use.The internet WiFi wasn't easy to set up.Breakfast was bland, and I thought expensive for €15 Euros. The staff weren't that friendly,or helpful when asking for Breakfast stuff.Wished I had the buffet Breakfast.
The hotel had a secure car park which was important to us. The room was a good size and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is a short walk to the metro which was only two stops to the city centre.
We arrived on a Sunday night and checked in around 6pm, we went for a walk around the area and there was not much in the way of restaurants open so we opted for dinner at the hotel. It was OK but I felt very sorry for the person waitress as she was on her own and also had to man the bar. Even the receptionist helped out in the restaurant. On our second night we went to a wonderful Italian restaurant next door and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. When we came back we saw that the same waitress was again on her own. The issue was that people, had to wait quite a while to place their order and then bring in the food. It was more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. But at least if you do not wish to leave the hotel at night you have the option to eat there.
Friendly staff Clean rooms Close to public transport Good wi fi Great pizza place next door
Poor continental breakfast Lack restraunts in area on weekend
- this hotel is far from to be on standard level of Best Western group - hotel garage dark and full of rubbish and bad smell (how could you let hotel guests to enter hotel through corridor full or old pneu, carpets and bags with strange content?!!!! This is far from to be representative. - just basic quality of breakfast, not a french standard - hotel rooms having paper cups instead of normal glass? Strange! - rooms smelling somehow suspicious :-/
The bathroom shower. Size of the room.
No small fridge in the room. Too far from the airport.
Easy to find, very close to the motorway Easy to get into the historic city centre , just a couple of stops on the metro. Comfy family rooms Good breakfast buffet Friendly staff Safe underground parking
No negatives. Some people have complained about the underground car parks but we stayed twice, once on a Friday and once on a Saturday , in August, and both times the car park was empty
Comfortable beds, great shower, very helpful staff, good location outside if town, but really close to a subway stop.
Wifi needs to be reset every 4 hours. A pain in the neck.
We visited Lyon on two seperate occasions recently and stayed at the Best Western Saphir Hotel on both occasions. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lyon. It has close access to the motorway system and having arrived we discovered parking was free in the street during the month of August! The hotel is a modern, efficient hotel, helpful friendly staff and an excellent restaurant and bar. We had dinner there on our return from the south and can testify that the food is superb. On our outward and return holiday journey, our room/s were both spotlessly clean and we can honestly say the most comfortable we have ever stayed in.
Staff at the bar and in the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast, very efficient, friendly and accommodating. Food at dinner extremely good. Easy access from motorway A6.
Would have been tricky getting into garage if no one had been in front of us. Staff at reception were not very welcoming at either check in or check out.
We stayed at the Best Western Hotel Lyon on our outward journey to Provence and on the return. We can honestly say this was the best hotel we've ever stayed in. Both our rooms were immaculately clean and the bed was the fabulously comfortable. We also had a meal at the restaurant and breakfast both mornings. The food and service were first class. The reception staff were most helpful and we were delighted to discover the parking was free outside the hotel on the road, all through August!
The room was superb as was the food in the restaurant. I would offer one caution for those thinking of staying here. It is a good 20 minutes walk from the old town, although very close to the metro.
Easy to find from the Autoroute Comfortable rooms Goodie bags for kids Close to the metro for a trip to the city centre Friendly staff Secure parking Good continental breakfast
Everything was ok, in previous reviews people have complained about the parking spaces and some were definitely quite small, however the car park was empty when we arrived. Some have also complained about the area where the hotel was located, we didn't notice any unsavoury characters so it seemed fine to us.
After a long drive from Calais on our way further south the room was clean and the bed for my wife and i was huge and very very comfortable as were the beds in the room for our 2 teenage sons
Quick check in and rooms were excellent, they were comfortable and clean
The bar closing at 10.10pm when it was meant to stay open until 11.00pm
lovely comfortable beds wide range of breakfast foods
setting. lack of places to eat and hotel restaurant closed
Had a secure parking garage.
Difficult to find.
The staff were very good and the hotel was clean. The restaurant was reasonable.
Parking was a pain and there were no spaces available when I arrived - this was an unwelcome surprise
Near the old town so a good base to visit.
The hotel needs definitely refurbishment with the rusty shower we have had and the single bed was not a proper bed
that i found the place (had trouble in that respect in May 2012) an efficient friendly helpful desk, a very comfortable room,spotlessly-clean.had an evening meal there and a breakfast and they were good.Enjoyed my overnight stay.
staff, esp. the young male manager, very good
internet was horrible
