This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and, like the first time, found the staff extremely helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the view over the Bay is fabulous.
The location and Marie at the front desk who gave excellent advise. The hike up the hill to the hilltop park was fabulous. The hotel sits at the base of the hill. Strolling the streets of old town and listening to mass being sung in several old churches. The flower and vegetable market is very close.
Without a doubt the best view over Nice from the end of the promenade. Room not huge but everything you need. Very helpful staff throughout. Wi-fi included
lift way to small, in summer could prove to be a pain if your on a high floor. No real facilities. i.e. pool , lounge
The location is very good with amazing view over the beach, the rooms are clean and the staff is polite and friendly.
The rooms and elevator are very small.
staff nice and the view is good ,but it depends on the higher floor.
the breakfast is expensive,in my opinion
-location to old Nice ville and beach was very convenient -view was amazing (5th floor)
-reception staff were arguing amongst themselves when we arrived -parking to bring in luggage is not convenient -the elevator only fits a small amount of luggage in it so multiple trips are required
We loved the superb view from both windows, the staff was particularly helpful find Marie if you need any information. But Bahia and Jennifer are also very obliging.
Sadly as we like to sleep with the windows/French doors open, there is quite a bit of noise of street traffic, particularly on weekends.
Fantastic location, great view, easy wslk to Old Nice or port
Almost all rooms face the sea...mine was quite small. Unfortunately the hotel is right on the road at the end of the Promenade Anglais...very heavy traffic round to the port. Also has pesestrian crossing , motorbikes and mopeds roar away all night. Room double glazed but made little difference. Public areas very small, cant see how this hotel has 4 star rating
Boutique style hotel with lots of charm. Room spacious with a large balcony to sit on and watch the world go by. Walking distance to the old town.
Charging €3 for extra coffee pod for the coffee machine excessive.
No restaurant and receptionist had to run back and forward to the bar.Drinks were VERY expensive and not a great selection
The view from the balcony is incredible. Good prices off season.
wonderful setting, with balcony overlooking the bay of Nice and the Promenade right across the road.
Great location for the old town. Wonderful views of the bay at any time of day
Parking - impossible. Elevetor - old. broke during our ride I had to jump out of it (I am 66 years old and it was almost 1.5 meter gap!) The staff said this happens almost every day. The room very very small. Breakfast was very unsatisfactory.
Location View incredible
Reception staff not very accommodating Needs Car Parking included
The ocation, nice room with balcony and new bathroom, delicious breakfast room with tasty breakfast, short walk to the beach, short walk to the old town, within easy reach of most.
When a hotel advertises its own beach, this should be included in the price
The front desk personnel are not interested in assisting clients. The rooms on the first floor, especially those near the elevator and stairs are extremely noisy. When the morning shift arrives (5:30 am), you will hear all the comings and goings. Same for any evening activities.
The location near Nice Old Town is fantastic. Our room had a veranda with an exceptional view over the bay and along the Promenade des Anglais - as do the majority of rooms. Not a huge room for the 'superior' description but okay with usual amenities flat screen TV and free wifi.
It has a touch of Fawlty Towers about it. When we arrived at 9am the staff were brusque and stressed with a queue of people checking out. The lift is miniscule (room for two persons only!) but when those two persons are big like the two guests arriving ahead of us the lift jams. Our checking in process was delayed for ten minutes while a desk manager shouted platitudes to the two unfortunate guests before going into an adjoining cupboard for the tool to rectify the problem. (We took the proportion of travelling in the lift with one person, one suitcase). The cramped reception area is next to the breakfast restaurant which looks like an internet cafe and tucked round the corner is a tiny bar with two tiny sofas and a tiny selection of drinks. The whole area resembles the reception of a beauty parlour decked out with pink doll's house furniture. On leaving the staff had forgotten to book our taxi at the appointed hour so we had to wait 20 minutes for one to arrive.
beach right across street
have to pay for sun beds!!
Fabulous location with a beautiful view. Hotel staff very polite and helpful and the maids were excellent. Wonderful holiday !
Traffic noise Lift is so small everyone uses stairs which is stone and noisy Room very small - had to crawl over bed to open window Bar closed because barman did not turn up
Proximity to the old town of Nice. Views of the coast from the room.
There is no parking provided by the hotel and public parking is quite a distance away. Also access into hotel awkward with many steps. The overall impression on entering is that the hotel is rundown, which it is not however once you're in. Elevator also in need of improvement.
Hotel Suisse is in the perfect location to enjoy the beautiful French Riviera and Old Town. I booked a Superior Double Room with Sea View and highly recommend it. The air conditioning was excellent and the balcony provided a wonderful area to enjoy the view early in the morning and late in the afternoon before heading out. The room service is exceptional, and we always returned from our travels to a clean room. The staff are always pleasant and eager to help. I highly recommend Hotel Suisse particularly for its close proximity to Old Town, the highlight of Nice. It is less than a five minute walk away from the hotel.
Sea view was good even though coconut trees blocked our sight.. The room was bigger than I thought. The luggage staff and cleaner were very kind and we were moved. Perfect location.
Toilet was not clean at all. And the telephone in the room was not working. Same as the key card sometimes. We expected a better hair dryer. And the reception was bad. They didn't provide any information.(particularly the middle age guy with a dead face) A madam with a pony tail hair was great but others were way too bad. Its just not a 4 stars level.
