We were looking for a value for money stopover, after exploring Provence by car and then heading for Lake Como by train. This hotel was perfect with the rental car drop-off next door and the railway station 50 metres away. Comfortable, but small, room gave a good nights rest. We dined in the hotel and the excellent quality of food on offer was a very pleasant surprise.
nice lobby, good location near the gare
some of the staff ,not all are rude
Conveniently located next to the train station, friendly & helpful staff, value for money perfect for the purpose of our stay. Recommended for those that want to explore surrounding towns
Staff is good Clean rooms Very near to station Good quality of sleep.
Bathroom is too small
Good access to station.
Perfect spot to stay if you're using the train as it is right beside the station. We were in a quiet room, you probably have to ask to be. Very comfy bed. We just walked down the main street which has great shopping down to the beach. 10-15min walk.
Small shower. Hotel smelt of cigarette smoke. Parts of hotel modern but room dated.
The room was clean and comfortable.
very near the train station. clean room (the size of room was smaller than the expectation) and good facilities including the swimming pool
if the closing hour of swimming pool is a little bit late, it would be better to use. During my stay, there was a rattling noise which disrupted the sleeping.
the hotel is near the train station. perfect for traveling.
Hotel is next to Train station which makes ideal location. Supermarket and restaurant's are located very close to hotel.
Perfect location for 1 night stay if travelling by train. Swimming pool
Room rate expensive compared to others on the promenade, so price is set due to location at train station. Small Rooms and Bathrooms so not suited to long stays. Apart from shower gel no other amenities provided. Although wifi is free it keeps dropping out and you have to keep logging in. Breakfast overpriced for what was provided.
The hotel is close to the main train station so is very good so don't need to walk far, if you like the morning walk the beach is only about 10minutes don't one the road opposite the hotel apart from that the hotel was ok for a short stay. The staff are helpful and some one them speak multiple languages that helps
No much places to eat you need to walk toward the water is ok to do but if you just want something close by nothing
1.great location for travellers, 2mins away from centre gare station. 2. Few mins away from grocery shops, fastfoods, cafe shops and take aways, so very convenient for budget holidays. 3. Our kids love your outdoor pool, small but safe, and good to cool down on a hot summer day. 4. Friendly staff, especially the night receptionist.
1. No LIFT! Only escalators when entering the main hotel. Very unsafe for families on holidays with kids with buggy. 2. Quite small room. 3. Opening and closing times of the pool area. Very late opening times(10am) and early closing(8pm) even on summer. 4. The sink in our toilet has bad smell coming from drainage. 5. No boiling kettle to use for family with babies/kids. 6. Very limited tv channels, mostly french. Only 1 english channel.
Great location - being just next to nice vile station it was easy travelling to Cannes and Monaco
Though there are controls for the AC in the room it is hardly of any use. The room AC seems to be centrally controlled. Even after request that I want the room to be more cold (as it was very hot) nothing changed.
Location, friendly staff. We even asked to stay a 2nd night and they were fully booked
Tiny rooms, that's all
This hotel did not have some of the basics such as a fridge. It had an air con u it however it didn't work very well at all and I think the open window would have made the room cooler. When I told the staff about it they had simply said this is just the way it is. The location was great but apart from that I wouldn't stay here again
Great location just next to main station if you jump over to nearest sites like monaco, cannes.... Ibis nice stuff and cool enviroment :)
All was nice but as usual the bathroom is a bit small
Location near trainstation.
Breakfast was bad!!
The room was quite small No wardrobe
Close to the beaches and old center by walking. Very close to the train station and car rental services if you plan to visit other places around Nice. It has it's own pool. Great view from the window (at 7th floor). Good restaurant for dinning late with daily offers.
The staff is very very rude, especially the high-rank senior blonde woman (should be the manager). This hotel staff is very irresponsible. She said they sent us email one day before our arrival to say that the Triple Room was not available and requested us to stay at TWO double room or change to anoter hotel. For the first arrangement, we dissatisfied. How can they separate parents and children into two different room? One of my child is just 3 years old and we already stated our family status clearly in the booking one month ago in the booking. Under the hotel child policy, we have read carefully and known this practice, if the kid using the existing bed (share bed wib parents), he/she should be free of charge. Actually we booked the hotel one month in advance. How come the hotel notify us to change hotel in one day?(In fact, we did not know they sent us email because we are on holiday without roaming online service!) We asked why they notified us so late? The manager said they just checked our booking on the day they sent ua email. The hotel manager was not considerate and seemed not to solve problem for customers. She just repeated to say 'you have four persons then you have to book two double room'. We told her we already listed the special requirement in the booking one month ago. I don't know why they check our booking late, then they forced us to pay more money for their inefficient work. To be frank, we are loyal ibis fans because we stayed at different ibis in different cities in Europe whenever we travel to Europe every year. I found that the ibis hotel in Nice Centre Gare is the worst one we have ever been. Compared to other ibis staff, the staff in UK are much more friendly and know how to keep the goodwill of ibis and tried their best to solve problems for their customers, unlike ibis Nice Centre Gare.
The location is excellent. A few steps from the train station and from the tram station that takes you to the city centre The hotel services are good value for money Rooms are comfortable. We had a room in the 8th floor with a sea view from the window. The breakfast spread was good
The hotel reception is situated on the 1st floor and the escalators that lead to the reception were not always working which was a nuisance as we had to move up our baby stroller. There is a lift though which is not very clean
I booked the Ibis because you usually know what you are getting. The bed was comfy and we had everything (basic) that we needed. The pool was a real delight though, its all fairly shallow throughout and was super clean, I was impressed. We ate in the hotel one night and the food was very good, my pasta was just like I've eaten in Italy and my husband really enjoyed his burger :-) The station is very close and we were given a room away from the tracks to minimize noise. There is a shop just down the road selling water and snacks which we found very helpful, also there are plenty of places to eat nearby. There is a taxi rank just outside and it was 40 euros for taxi from the airport at night and then 35 euros back to the airport in the day, the taxi's advise that you don't get the hotel to ring a taxi for you, as they take a charge for themselves (not sure how true this is).
The hotel put 600-odd euros into a 'holding' account off the card that was used at time of booking, this may be in the small print but I didn't notice. I didn't take this card with me as we planned to pay in cash so they made me hand over another card when we arrived and they done the same on that one, 'held' another 600-something euros, the money was released a few days after we got home but I was a bit surprised. Also around 10 euros was added onto our bill for city tax (usual with European countries) but we had to ask what the extra was for. The room was a little dated but nothing to worry about. The WiFi is good but its one of those that makes you keep signing in and that gets a bit annoying. The hotel was a little further than I thought from the attractions of Nice, that is probably my fault for not looking into it but we walked fast to the port and it still took around 35 mins. (Not the hotels fault, but for information) - Going the opposite way, inland, to the Matisse museum, it took even longer then to get to the port and was uphill, the Russian church was covered in scaffolding so that is worth checking before you go. There are some uncomfortable neighborhoods but we didn't have any trouble.
