The location and car park are the greatest plus points. Lovely lobby too opening onto a spacious courtyard with open air dining and jazz concerts Thursday nights in season. Friendly sevice.
The room and bathroom were pokey and the restaurant although not bad is overpriced.
good location comfortable bed easy access to airport
quite expensive for hotel of this type bathroom very tired
Excellent bed and modern room.
Wonderful place. We will be returning. Excellent location. Beautiful and calm. Thank you for everything.
That we had to leave.
Very friendly staff. Great location.
Rooms are a little dated and shabby around the edges.
Great location, close to all of the sites, friendly staff
The bed was extremely comfortable. Good location.
We had originally planned to see Ennio Morricone at the Roman Arena, but because of ill-health, the show was put back a week. We couldn't change our plans, so decided to stay here for the weekend anyway on our way back from Italy. This is a fading shadow of what once may have been quite a palatial edifice. Today, it is shabby and falling apart. Let's start with the lift (elevator). It is a temperamental ridiculous apparatus from the end of the 19th century and has no place in a four star hotel.. The preposterous decor of our room (No. 110), which was supposed to be the best in the hotel is designed for the amateur designer who "planned it". He/she certainly did not have the client in mind! . It has a huge chaise-longue which may or may not be a massage chair which takes up half the room. There is absolutely NOWHERE to make up or PUT anything. The huge tv hidden behind a mirror has the speakers (when at 100%) barely audible because they are in the dressing room BEHIND the tv! There is nowhere to hang dresses as the height of the wardrobe is too short. The bathroom shower has nowhere even to put the soap! There are two porters. One has a personal hygiene problem, and I would not let him take my car to park after the first occasion as his B.O. made my wife wretch. Good luck with the ancient keys in the bedroom locks! I could go on, but I think that's enough. The pleasure staying there cost me 383 Euros a night (plus taxes, breakfast...)! Yes, 385 Euros a night. That's like for a decent room at the Georges V in Paris. NOT for a hotel that is well past its sell-by date in a provincial French town. They need to sell it to Mercure who I'm sure will spend the money it so desperately needs to bring it into the 21st century. FOUR STARS! You can see them through the ceiling in the hall which was flooding after the rain...
The whole package
Excellent staff. Remembered our names straight away and always had the key ready, with a smile, when we returned to the hotel. Gave us a chance to speak french as well, which was welcome, though staff did speak excellent English if it were needed.
Furniture in bedrooms is old and no longer fit for purpose. The furniture didn't feel antique or classic, it just felt old and crumbly. Beds also very dated and not as comfortable as I had hoped. I would rather pay 50€ more for a better quality room experience but that's just my opinion. Will definitely star there again though. Downstairs space was far more modern and overall an impressive hotel for the price.
the location was perfect downtown with everything at grasp. They took care of our car without us getting crazy searching for a spot or overpaying as had happened in other towns
the bathroom was rather small and had seen better times, but it was still reasonable
Location. Quiet room.
Lack of a bedside light (Only 1 for 2 people!) Single antiquated lift - queuing for its use when coach parties arrived.
Good location . Staff mostly very helpful
Lift didn't work for most of our stay. Sound proofing of rooms very bad- could hear people snoring/ coughing/talking / showering. This was especially annoying at 6 am when it seems our whole corridor got up and were very noisy till 8.30am - this was a tour group who were apparently not aware that the hotel had other guests! The decor was very shabby - paint peeling off the ceiling- cracks in the toilet and washbasin and dirty wallpaper .really don't know how it got a 4 star rating.
Location & staff
Mold In shower. Bathroom in poor condition
Old world charm, the beautiful and peaceful courtyard. Our room was big, airy and well equipped and the windows opened!. Excellent beds. The staff were extremely helpful. The location could not have been better for visiting the city.We had one superb dinner in the restaurant (best risotto ever, said my friend)
Nothing really, but this is not a hotel for those who prefer the sterile and anonymous atmosphere of the smart chain hotels. Bits of the hotel are tired.
Tea coffee facilities required in bedroom
The room was large ad comfortable with a balcony. We had lunch-expensive, but our most delicious meal on our trip to Provance. Had two English TV stations.
The bathroom shower leaked on the floor even being very careful.
Everything was of excellent quality. Breakfast superb. Interesting art work. Lots of attention to detail. Cleanliness of the highest standard.
Wi fi reception was poor
Attractive building in a good position with an attractive bar area and courtyard. We ordered room service of foie gras and a salad - the foie gras was a very small slither with a slice of toast - 18 Euros and the salad was less than a handful - 8 Euros. Unimpressive and excessive even for the convenience of having it in the room.
The breakfast staff were unhelpful to the point of rudeness when we asked for rolls, croissants or bread - none of which remained on the buffet after other guests had taken a selection. We weren't offered any alternative, so although there was cheese and ham there was nothing to eat it on or with. With had a small child with us and there was nothing to give him to eat. Eventually we ordered eggs & bacon when we spoke to a second waitress, although we weren't shown any menu and only eggs arrived some time later. I was told pancakes would be made, but then another waitress said they didn't have the ingredients to make them. This was woeful for a hotel of this supposed calibre. Nonetheless we were charged 18 Euros each for what was in essence a glass of juice and tea and coffee. When I complained on leaving I didn't get the feeling anyone was bothered. On balance a very disappointing stay.
Bathroom very old and poorly cared Small room Needs urgent renovation
No tea or coffee in room, sometimes could not get help from staff. The towel warmer in our bathroom did not seem to work and I had to ask 3 times before someone would come and deal with it. The porter came and fiddled with switch and said should work now but did not. The front desk said maybe I did not pay to have towel heater work!!
Size of the room. Very clean. Nice and romantic hotel.
Drapes were not enough dense so the light during the night and the morning was too high.
Very old, cute and a lot of works of art to see, Very attentive staff, big rooms close yo restaurants and bars.
Parking expensive and so was breakfast at $19 but the breakfast was top freshly prepared dishes, i guess you get what you pay for. you wou.d have to be really hungry to pay that, they should have a cheap option too foy those who are npt so hungry.
Luxury hotel with beautiful features, especially the inner courtyard and fireplace. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Friendly, attentive staff.
There was nothing not to like.
Staff , location, Nice old Hotel.
In desperate need of renovation. Very small room
