Very good position, nice terasse Is incredible that a 4 stars hotel has no personal for helipng/carrying the lagagge !!!......the rooms are large but very ugly decorated (like in very cheap motel), there is no stylish design as in this historical hotel..I Expected more glamour but I had the bad surprise to see people coming at breakfast in short pants.....about the facilities, there is no hair-style salon.......very pitty for this beautiful and classsical hotel

The view. In the main, friendly efficient staff. Complimentary soft drinks mini bar and free secure parking. Large wardrobe space. Free wi- fi. Generally clean but see comments about bathrooms. Liked the art deco touches but it needs a bit of pizazz. Its all grey, cream, browns and whites and needs splashes of colour in both public areas and bedrooms.A Few bright cushions would be a start. We had booked for 7 nights. This is a 4 star hotel, with 3 star food and 2 star bathrooms. Our first room had plaster peeling off the walls in the bathroom. It was poorly laid out and had no shelf space to speak of. Example; lift the toilet lid and it rests against the hand towel hung on the wall behind it. Not very hygenic! Bedroom oddly arranged too. A swinging side table on the bed blocked the bathroom door when pushed to one side. Staff moved us the next day to a slightly better room, but the bathrooms are well out of date. Reception advised there are no walk-in showers throughout the hotel - poor. Showers over the bath feel cramped as the base of the bath is narrow and balance is an issue. Food in the restaurant was ok, but value for money it was not; we used it once. Breakfast is 25 euro pp - ridiculous. One day, room not serviced by 3pm - housekeeper was very rude when we asked for it to be done straight away. Reception had to intervene on our behalf. Due to poor weather had to use taxis a few times. Hotel arranged them. Metered taxi the cheapest but still 10 euro to go into town - about a mile at best. One company didn't have meters and charged between 12 & 15 euro. No area to lie on sunbeds. Gardens can be accessed by the public .All in all our stay was disappointing as we thought this was Annecy's jewel in the crown. It is a Grand Dame well dressed on the outside with faded skirts underneath. We've stayed at other hotels in Annecy previously and always admired this hotel, so we decided to try it this time. Unless refurbished we won't be staying here again.

Location was beautiful, only to be spoilt the public having access to the grounds. It need to have loungers for the guests in the grounds. Lots! Lack of service in the restaurant. As British we were made to feel like second class citizens. |The bed was small and uncomfortable. the room was not what was expected of a hotel charging 200 Euros a night. Lack of drawer space. Hotel car park not secure enough as our Mercedes CLS had chewing gum smeared down the driver's door. We had booked for 3 nights and left after 2. The worst hotel out of 6 that we stayed in during our trip to France. We will also post commets on Trip Advisor.

The location on the lake, the view from our room and the general luxury of the place. We had a balcony but it wasn't really big enough to sit out on and there were no other facilities for just lazing around. There was a public park by the hotel but there were no chairs available there either. Also, the basin was cracked in the bathroom but apart from that the bathroom facilities were good. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel because of the exorbitant charge, but we did eat in the restaurant where the food was good, but the maitre d' had a real attitude problem.

We returned to the Imperial Palace that we have stayed at several times before because of the setting and the brilliant lakeside stroll into Annecy. We also love the Art Deco interior. The hotel still has huge potential but we thought it was taking its core values for granted. The front of house was disappointing. We can understand why you can't park guests' cars anymore but a bellboy and a receptionist would have been apprecieated. Turning the lido into a pleasure park was a big disappointment for us. It dumbed down the whole place along with its darned bedware. "Our grounds" on a sunny day is misleading and when functions are taking place the only private area is your room.

It's a very nice place. Splendid location. Friendly personnel. Great breakfast and large room. Looks a bit weared down, but nice. Teapot in the room feels very welcomming too. Price is a bit too high, not to the level of service and room.

The location was without doubt the main attraction. However, we did not eat breakfast or dinner at the Hotel as it was way too expensive. Take a twenty minute walk to the old town and you will find excellent restaurants for half the price of the Hotel. How the Hotel can justify charging 25euro for breakfast (30 euro if you want meat) is beyond me.

Superb Location and very helpful staff. Decor! Just travelled from Locarno in Switzerland where we stayed at The Esplanade and (apart from position) this hotel was far superior. Also no Swimming Pool!

The view of the lake is lovely Given it's grand location and grand title, it was hugely disappointing to find this was more of a " budget" hotel in terms of fittings, services and standards. It had the feel and quality of a Travelodge hotel with very basic fittings and fixtures, very ordinary restaurant menu (laminated plastic menus?!) and a shockingly overpriced and poor quality breakfast buffet. The service in the bar and restaurant (for the one meal we tried to have but walked out of) was dreadful. Very overpriced for what it is.

Beautiful hotel, although the decor dates itself to the early 90's. The rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. The bathrooms are also nice. They have a snack bar and a free mini bar. Room service food is good. The staff is very helpful and super nice. Surrounding area is beautiful. Although the hotel is not located in the center of Anncey, it is close enough to walk easily along the lake front. It was a lovely stay. Hotel restaurant is not good and expensive. The room service food was much better.

Staff was nice, location is great. We didn't have access to the beach and the earliest we could check-in was at 4 p.m but we were there at 1 p.m, so 3 hours of doing nothing, just waiting for the room to be available...

Excellent staff, quiet location, fabulous views, good dining. The hotel could do with an update. Room was not huge and although spotlessly clean was a bit shabby; the furniture was dented & outdated.
