excellent hotel, fabulous location on the Lake Annecy. he perfect place to relax and take in the amazing views

The hotel is well located right to the lake. I really love the place and if you want to enjoy a sunset, you must do it from there. Staff was very friendly and answer to all our questions.

The bed was very small, I felt in a budget hotel, for a 4 stars hotel. I would have expected a better bed, higher flat screen and a new generation of handline phone.

Couple of minor points Internet was inconsistent Decor is very dated We were surprised the day we left that ther were no cabs available from the contracted supplier to take us to the station. We were basically left to catch the bus at the last minute so it was a bit of a rush

We had been upgraded into a room with lake view; free car park; luxurious room, nice panorama from inside and outside the hotel

We had to change of room at midnight because the curtain wasn't closing. I was with a broken arm and nobody offered to help me to take the luggage from the car to the room (just in front of the reception desk!)

Price of breakfast

This is a lovely nice hotel for a romantic weekend trip. Nice running path and access to ville by a nice walk along the lake. The village is small but pretty. I would not make a big journey to go Annecy but it is a lovely village to visit if you are in the area.

We have stayed here before and have always been pleased to return. The hotel is in a beautiful location on the lake and Annecy is as beautiful a town as any.A wonderful holiday.

The breakfast is over-priced.

L'Imperial is overall a very good hotel where I would stay again. Our room at the top floor was not too large but very comfortable, the bed was excellent, the furnishings were stylish; there was a huge closet, safe and minibar with nice glassware. The WiFi was excellent in the room; the shower strong and the bathtub great. Our room had an oval window on the lake, the view was beautiful although the window was too small for the room which made it somewhat dark but the room was still cozy. We stayed one night and were very happy with it; check-out is at noon, which is a big plus these days. Parking is plentiful and free. The hotel has a large lakeside park surrounding it, and it could be a nice promenade to the center of Annecy. It takes 3 min to drive to the center of Annecy, if you wish to save time. All in all, I liked that the hotel had everything it advertised, not less.

The price of the breakfast repelled the whole idea of taking it at the hotel; we took a look at it, though, and it did not seem anything special or worth the exorbitant price tag. The hotel offers a complimentary drink at the casino and I wish we did not use it - the drink was awful and the atmosphere at the casino was cheap and dilapidated. Otherwise, the hotel is quite nice, built in the style of the grand hotels of the past but I think it is a modern building. The service is to match, which is ok but not gracious or especially courteous in the old tradition - when you pass the front desk, they would not acknowledge you. Thus the elegance is somewhat limited. But the basics - great sleep, WiFi, comforts of the room - are all there. Recommended.

Very friendly and accomodating staff

It looks like and old palace from the outside but the interior is charmless mid range French.

The location and views were by far the hotel's strong point. The staff were very consciencous and the rooms had a very pleasant design with a lot of storage for your clothes and persoanal items. The food was also very good, both the breakfast buffet and the supper. The parking situation became a problem when the hotel rented out the space to a sporting event, therefore not leaving any room for the hotel patrons to park. It was all roped off. They did try to make amends when we complained however so it did work out in the end, although inconvenient at the time.

The mattress on the bed was very uncomforable, not very good quality. I expected much better sleeping conditions from a hotel of this stature and therefore had very little sleep in the 4 nights we stayed. If it weren't for the poor quality mattress, it would have been a wonderful stay.

As we came via booking.com and with a 4 year old child we were told we would have a room with an "oeil de boeuf" on the 8th floor, the top floor, with a bed for our daughter We feared a rather poor quality room, "banished" to the 8th floor! The truth was the opposite, the room was huge, very attractive and comfortable with a fantastic view over the lake of Annecy and the mountains Probably a room on a lower floor would not have had such a fine view in fact! I ran the 10kms race at Annecy on the Sunday morning and we then ate the excellent Brunch back at the hotel. Altogether a wonderful weekend

The Saturday evening we ate dinner at the hotel and after leaving the table and waiting for the lift in the lobby up to our room, the "maître d'hotel" came striding after us and rather menacingly asked if we had paid! It was like an accusation This was an unpleasant moment and totally unnecessary You might like to have a word with this man The only thing to spoil a fine weekend in Annecy

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and service-oriented. We will return to L'Imperial Palace on that basis. The snack bar was very pleasant with an excellent menu.

My only suggestion would be to have blankets in addition to the comforters in the rooms and how to activate the heating.

The Location and the scenery

Not as modern as one expected, especially given the rates

The attitude of some staff in both the hotel restaurant and the casino restaurant was exceedingly 'couldn't-care-less'. The free 'cocktail' turned out to be pineapple juice with two drips of grenadine to provide the alcohol content. Reception pleasantly unhelpful - no offer of town map, assistance with luggage etc. Poor shower - difficult to control water temperature, weak flow. 25 euro for breakfast (one)

Location is absolutely amazing with spectacular scenary and Lake Views if you book a room at the front of the hotel. The standout hotel of Annecy

The breakfast buffet was overpriced at 25 euros per person although if taken on the terrace the location is spectacular.

Luxurious hotel, gorgeous lakeside location. We were given a free upgrade to a lakeview room, which was lovely, spacious and luxurious, although it had a stale smell, particularly in the bathroom. We didn't eat in the hotel, except for breakfast, as it was too expensive, and even the breakfast was not worth the 25 euros charged per person.

The staff, except for the female reception staff, were unfriendly, particularly the male staff, not one of whom acknowledged us at any time during our 3 day stay in the hotel. Although there were two members of staff on reception when we arrived, no-one offered any help in getting our bags from the car to our room. There was no courtesy transport to and from the town, which was a good 20-25 minute walk, not a problem for us as we walk a lot, but too far for a lot of elderly people, I would think, who would probably have to use taxis.
