Friendly staff helped with bags and when I had problems getting to the hotel before check in time closed
No warning of stairs, check in time closes at 8 so no welcome on arrival.
Great value for a short stay. Very easy to find by car, we parked on the open air free parking lot (apparently it was the only free one) right outside of the city wall, and then walked to the hotel with our luggages, it was nice that the hotel was not far! Easy to walk to the town center and the Palais de Pope.
Receptionist is a bit cold. Bathroom a bit shabby.
facility (Toilette out of my room)
Breakfast was simple but nice. Owners were very nice and helpful!
Had trouble with WiFi at times.
I loved being on the ground floor for once and having my bike in the room with me. Hotel man was very friendly.
My window opened onto tiny courtyard/room area for smoking. People kept leaving on the light.
Staff very hospitable and obliging. Close to Avignon Centre. Quiet location. Good for one night only.
Shower and toilet in a very small space.
The staff are very helpful. Even though the building and facilities are one star they make the most of it by keeping it clean and going the extra mile by putting silk petals and candies on the bed.
The bathroom was so small you could not actually use the facility and close the door at the same time.
Small but it seems the hotel tried to make it good when they put on the bed some decoration with chocolate. I like it!
Very tiny bathroom and sharing toilet.
Cheap room Decent wifi Good location
Surly owner Having to climb over the toilet to reach the shower. Having to sit at right angles on the toilet seat as no room for your legs!
Room was charming and the staff were friendly enough
Toilet was tiny and dirty outside of room. Also, the room was incredibly stuffy and the mold got into my mothers chest and gave her a cold.
price is good, staff is very good, friendly, and with good english skills. Location is good, minutes walk to everywhere.
room is small and facility is common
I had an ok stay here, but if I ever go back to Avignon I might look for a different hotel. The location is great though, it's a quick walk to the main train station (not the tgv station).
Very small bathroom.
First thoughts were quaint .convenient for town centre
Finding a hole under the shower with mice poison in it .I hate mice and this made me uncomfortable and put me off the place .I didn't sleep well at all.
This hotel was well placed in the old part of town gIving easy access to several tourist attractions.
The bathroom and toilet facilities were appalling. They were so cramped you could not even sit on the toilet without the door open to the bedroom. The shower was camping ground quality and was falling apart. Sorry but not a stay we want to remember!
Good central location
The hotel was shut at 8:30pm when we arrived. If we hadn't brought the phone number with us, we wouldn't have got in. That said, they had saved a room for us and gave us the access code to the hotel. The breakfast was very basic. A room on the ground floor was decorated with pictures of women getting undressed - we got the strong sense that it was used by the local prostitutes.
location, staff, onsite dog, cleanliness
slightly weird pillow configuration
Good location close to the train station and city centre
Limited possibilities to commmunicate in English. This caused major problems during the night when the door of our room would not open anymore. Calling the service/emergancy number did not solve anything as the recipient could not understand our problem. At the end, no one showed up to help us, and we had to solve the problem ourselves. Small toilets, which was leaking as well. Black hairs on the blankets.
Room was comfortable and quiet. Everything you need was there. Location was excellent. Breakfast was well served for the price. We didn't manage to eat what was on the table. My daughter was sick and the staff were extremely helpful.
As solo I stayed in double room (french bed). The bed/room size was for me good but for two people a little bit too small. The location of the hotel is excelent (ten minutes walking from the train station) inside the walls of the old city. The room was quiet so I slept very well.
Hotel is in the old building so the installations are not elegant. The bathroom is very narrow, the layout of the sanitary is not practical: you can't sit normaly on WC and you have to jump WC or to wriggle when you go out from the shower. There is no wall between the bath and the room, only paravane. The furniture is old and helter skelter, so the cleaness of it is questionable. Nevertheless, the bedclothes were clean. In front of the window of the room is the window of the restaurant and reception. So the privacy is not completly assured. The breakfast is simple (bred, butter, honey and jam). For one person it is definetly very low value/cost. To me it seems that in France the value/cost is much lower compared to Austria, Germany, even Italy, not to mention ex socilistic country.
Location is very close to railway stations
It is located along the road so it is too noisy to sleep at night
Located inside the wall and close to all major attractions as well as an easy walk or bus ride to Villeneuve. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and we did not have any noise problems. Bathroom was a little small but not unusual for French hotels in older parts of cities which have been retrofitted. Would stay here again as it was very good value for money.
Location was great
Understood no parking on site but was so disappointed when reception was unable to advise of a secure parking garage nearby - surely they get this question all the time??? Jean Jures and you enter it from next city gate not the road where the P is on map. Note no elevator, and just standing fan - our room was stifling no breeze that night (June) baby didn't sleep due to heat so either did we, wouldn't be my first choice with again family again
Location is great! Staff is very nice. Everything is very cheerful.
