The hotel is in a fantastic location close to the train station, metro and any supermarkets and restaurants. It is down a side street that does not feel unsafe and staff were friendly. For the price it was ideal for us. The only downside is the small room and tight shower but for price and location this did not concern us. Also it was a bit noisy one night as there is a nigh-club next door, but it was nothing outrageous, but you could hear it. Our two year old had no trouble getting to sleep.

the room was small but clean. It was space enough for a short stay. If you would stay longer maybe it's a little bit to small. The employees are very kind and always tried to give us the best advises. It's located in a nice area and also the neighbors ( Internetshop around the corner) are really helpful. We really enjoyed the stay and for sure we will come back there is no A/C, as it has been really hot ( 30 degrees) we had to sleep with open window at night, which was sometimes pretty loud even the hotel is not located on a main street.

Great location, near metro... Very easy to get to and from places. Staff was helpful with directions... Our power was shut off at 10am, but we were ready to check out anyway, so it wasn't a big deal.

We liked the hotel. Staff is very helpful. I was afraid that it will be cold at night and even gave me a heater, even though it was already quite warm - the end of March.

Quiet location - no traffic noise No noise from neighbouring rooms Friendly & helpful English speaking staff. Clean Good breakfast including juice, cereal, croissant & bread Only 15mins max walk from Gare Du Nord Walking distance from Centre and most major tourist sites - (but also close to the Republique main line Metro station if you need it) Beds rather firm (easily solved by putting a folded blanket under the bottom sheet)

Convenient location, just a few minutes walk from underground metro station. Quiet place. Good wireless internet connection. There were some things I did not like, but generaly it is good place for the budget. Small rooms (as most of hotels in Downtown Paris). Really did not understand why breakfast is called buffet, while you get only a breads or croissants with jam, juice, coffe and yogurt. Colleague got room, which was not serviced with some stuff of previous guests, but ofcource got it replaced. There was a watter kettle in the room, but no tea, coffee, sugar or anything you could use for preparing the drinks.

- Good value for money - friendly staff - cleaniness - good location as to the Gare de l'Est (and Gare du Nord as well) and multi-line metro station Republique - best price-quality ratio for breakfast (comparing to 'formules' of the cafes in the city - 7 euro for the room, i.e. 3,5 a person) - free baggage lock The room was good enough, but it smelt cigarette smoke!

The hotel seemed to be well run and with helpful and friendly staff. It is an ideal hotel for a short visit to Paris for 2 to 4 nights on a budget but for anything longer a hotel with more facilities would probably be better. For Gare Nord and Gare Est the hotel is well located (good for Eurostar travellers from London). the nearby Jaque Bonsargent Metro station is very useful location and there are various shops nearby for buying the essential items that always seem to have been forgotten when packing the suitcase at home. The only mirror in the room was in the shower room above the hand-basin. Fine for a man needing a shave. But what does a lady need? There should be a tall mirror fitted on the bedroom wall. Though our room (No. 44) is small, there are two possible locations on the wall to fit a tall mirror. When a lady is dressing to attend the theatre, she needs to see herself in a tall mirror. So, Mr Proprietor of Hotel Bel Oranger Republic, be gallant and enable the ladies to view themselves when they make themselves beautiful for the men.

Very good staff, nicest of all the hotels i've stayed at in paris. Attentive and very kind and natural make you feel at home...love their warmth and smile. Such a contrast from impersonal people in chain hotels. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and the bed so comfy and large. Love the laid back atmosphere and an off license shop right next to the hotel very nice owners...restaurants, shops everyting within 30 sec walk and also a metro. I used to hate Paris after coming previously in 3rd, 7th and 13th as well as 19th arrondissements and meeting some rude people but this area was abslutely "normal" and nice. I have decided to get a fllat there in a few months thanks to this experience. I like how in Paris its so laid back and not like in a frenzy like in London... Not very wel soundproofed but in my case I like this as I am a solo traveler and hearing people talk, laugh or even outside work makes me relaxed and go to seep...i know weird but I just don't like total silence except on some rare occasions and depends when, where why. Still the noises were not that bad and not all night...just when ppl were coming in and out of rooms and talking but then you hear nothing so mostly from hallways.
