I liked the fact that it was cheap considering just 1 night of permanence in Paris very late in the night, while we were travelling to Calais. The receptionist was very kind and helpful to sort out a personal problem.
I did not have a bad experience. The fact is that the rooms are very tiny, there is no lift up to the 6th floor, and the location is in a small street, dirty and dangerous. No good for long permanences.
Clean and comfortable, good location!
Isolation is not good, quite noisy during the night!
Good location, buzzy area though some might find too edgy. Friendly helpful staff Cheap
Room smelt, broken fixtures and fittings, dirty bathroom Very tired room No hairdryer, No lift (bad if you have difficulties walking up stairs)
Located in zone 1, between 3 metro stations & very close to Gare du Nord.
I liked the bed= very comfortable really!!! very good wifi-connection. Clean and tidy everyday! We had also free breakfast included in the price! very friendly and helpful staff. next to the Gare de l'est=metro station, the neibourhood it's ok, safe!good choice for the money that you give!
no lift, my room was at the 5th floor..ok for young people
The place is really noisy & there is no airconditioner in the toilet
1) Cheap triple for Paris (i.e very expensive if it was situated elsewhere) 2) Well enough located for Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est 3) An excellent and secure left luggage system - a must if seeing Paris and going back home via the stations later 4) An OK-ish breakfast given the price - count overall cost vs other room only hotels 5) triple room 24 is well designed with a partition wall between the double and the single despite my negative comments about it.
Triple room #24 badly needs a handyman. 1) The shower door is off, 2) the shower rail loose and 3) the extractor fan jammed and unattended to for what looks like ages. The net result is that it is damp enough for tiles to fall off and in a word it frankly - stinks. That is the damp not poor cleaning as that otherwise appeared OK. 4) The heating is set too high, 5) the windows don't lock securely or provide proper noise proofing. Come on guys - will it really hurt to spend those few Euros required to fix a basically good room?
Good thing the hotel was close to the metro station.and the heat in the room was great!
I didn t like the area the hotel was it seemed dangerous and the toilet in the room was really small only for thin people.and although the room was very clean we found a little mouse in it!
good breakfast excellent staff
Good location, clean, good wi-fi, free breakfast
Cold shower in the morning, TV doesn't work, no side lights.
Brand new bed linen and fluffy mattress and duvet. Good shower, very close to the Gare du Est.
Like most cheap hotels, bits of the decor have seen better days. But all in all unusually good value for money.
Room was very clean, Bad was comfortable, shower worked very well.
A lot of electronics didn't work. TV, Phone and the Lamps were there just for show
The room was very very small and not confortable. the hotel was very crumbling, in particular the toilet was a little bit dirty.
Spent the night here for New Years Eve with my wife. It was a nice small French hotel that was very clean and the staff were friendly. The nicest things for this hotel were the free wifi, friendly staff, free small breakfast, and also some snake machines in lobby where you could get some snacks for your room if you got hungry.
The only thing we did not really like was the location. It is close to a major train station which was the nice part of the location as well as the fact it is located in Paris itself but the street to the east of the hotel is a shady street. There were groups of young men just standing in groups talking and shouting things at people walking on the street and they were not selling things. There was also graffiti on the walls of the street. We did not want to think this meant the same thing as in our country but when we saw the hotel had a security door and that you needed a key card to come in we knew it was in a sketchy area. The hotel itself is just fine though and if you come in through the street to the west you skip the sketchy crowd to the east.
The staff was very nice and spoke enough english to get by. They held our bags for us with no problem before and after our check out. That was a life saver! Room is small, but bed is comfortable and we were only there to sleep. We were in rm. 51 and the wifi was good. Breakfast was small, but included. It was something to start the day with until you found something more filling.
They were doing construction and hammering all day. There was also drywall dust all over the stairs which of course tracked into our room. Someone in a room next to us was smoking and the bathroom stunk bad the second night. Like others have said, the neighborhood is a little shady, but there is a metro station VERY close, so you don't have to walk too far. I was with my husband and felt ok, but would not feel safe by myself.
Hotel was located near to Gare du Nord where we arrived. Clean rooms, perfect free breakfast with fresh baguettes, and good coffee. Staff was so helpful and accomodating when we needed information or help. Church was only a block away. Good wine shop and grocery in the neighborhood.
Hotel is located on a little side street with almost no traffic, but there is a bar on the corner where the patrons are very loud until very late.
Staff gave advice and were helpful. 24 hr staffing. Close to major Train Stations. Close to shops.
No lift. Dodgy magnetic key cards. Shower above my room leaked into my shower. No lock on the window. Dark rooms.
near to metro line
- great location - fresh linen
- poor wifi
convenient for station
five flights NO Lift Very small room Bathroom not restored Entrance in course of repair Very unattractive Should be off the list No fire escape!!!!!!!!
The staff was very, very helpful and friendly to all the guests. It was very clean. The petit déjeuner was better than that of many hotels I've stayed in in Paris. The location was convenient for getting around.
The building itself seemed to amplify sound, so it was a little difficult getting to sleep as long as other guests were still going up the stairs at night.
The room was updated and clean. Very close to the metro.
The neighborhood doesn't seem very safe. The bathroom update was unfinished. The ceiling in our bathroom collapsed because of a leak from the bathroom above us. They were going to move us to a different room but they just did a quick fix involving duct tape a caulk. We only had 1 more night left so we didn't feel like moving rooms, anyway. You have to walk up a lot of stairs to get to your room.
Hotel was quite a quirky set-up with a bit of character thrown in. Triple room on 3rd floor was quite comfortable with good wifi reception. . Plenty of plugs to charge your devices. Clean bedding and towels and comfortable mattresses. Basic breakfast included in price. Situated in a culturally diverse area. Plenty of mini-markets and bars / restaurants nearby. Local street drinkers were a source of entertainment with their squabbling and petty fights, but we were left alone throughout our time there.
Bathroom was small, but did the job Some people may find the locality somewhat intimidating at night.
Location nearby main stations, shops and some restaurants. Friendly staff at the reception.
Big noise from the street all through the night (immigration area) and noisy cleaning staff in the morning.
