The staff was very nice and spoke enough english to get by. They held our bags for us with no problem before and after our check out. That was a life saver! Room is small, but bed is comfortable and we were only there to sleep. We were in rm. 51 and the wifi was good. Breakfast was small, but included. It was something to start the day with until you found something more filling.
They were doing construction and hammering all day. There was also drywall dust all over the stairs which of course tracked into our room. Someone in a room next to us was smoking and the bathroom stunk bad the second night. Like others have said, the neighborhood is a little shady, but there is a metro station VERY close, so you don't have to walk too far. I was with my husband and felt ok, but would not feel safe by myself.
Hotel was located near to Gare du Nord where we arrived. Clean rooms, perfect free breakfast with fresh baguettes, and good coffee. Staff was so helpful and accomodating when we needed information or help. Church was only a block away. Good wine shop and grocery in the neighborhood.
Hotel is located on a little side street with almost no traffic, but there is a bar on the corner where the patrons are very loud until very late.
Staff gave advice and were helpful. 24 hr staffing. Close to major Train Stations. Close to shops.
No lift. Dodgy magnetic key cards. Shower above my room leaked into my shower. No lock on the window. Dark rooms.
near to metro line
- great location - fresh linen
- poor wifi
convenient for station
five flights NO Lift Very small room Bathroom not restored Entrance in course of repair Very unattractive Should be off the list No fire escape!!!!!!!!
The staff was very, very helpful and friendly to all the guests. It was very clean. The petit déjeuner was better than that of many hotels I've stayed in in Paris. The location was convenient for getting around.
The building itself seemed to amplify sound, so it was a little difficult getting to sleep as long as other guests were still going up the stairs at night.
The room was updated and clean. Very close to the metro.
The neighborhood doesn't seem very safe. The bathroom update was unfinished. The ceiling in our bathroom collapsed because of a leak from the bathroom above us. They were going to move us to a different room but they just did a quick fix involving duct tape a caulk. We only had 1 more night left so we didn't feel like moving rooms, anyway. You have to walk up a lot of stairs to get to your room.
Hotel was quite a quirky set-up with a bit of character thrown in. Triple room on 3rd floor was quite comfortable with good wifi reception. . Plenty of plugs to charge your devices. Clean bedding and towels and comfortable mattresses. Basic breakfast included in price. Situated in a culturally diverse area. Plenty of mini-markets and bars / restaurants nearby. Local street drinkers were a source of entertainment with their squabbling and petty fights, but we were left alone throughout our time there.
Bathroom was small, but did the job Some people may find the locality somewhat intimidating at night.
Location nearby main stations, shops and some restaurants. Friendly staff at the reception.
Big noise from the street all through the night (immigration area) and noisy cleaning staff in the morning.
Only the breakfast. All have trays to put your cup and your piece of bread.
No shower curtain. The tap is always moving. The environment is not friendly at night. Beware night walk. When u speak french the answer is in english. I came from a UK hotel far more better for less price.
Allowed to eat own food in the hotel's breakfast area
Bathrooms are really tiny
The beds were fantastic - really good mattresses. The rooms were clean. Staff friendly. Although very close to a noisy road, the room was remarkably free from traffic noise.
It would be nice to have a plastic tooth mug in the room.
Very nice staff. Clean. Big and very comfortable bed
The bed very confirtibel.
the staff is friendly, Gare D'est is in walking distance
large chunks of plasters in the room that needs to be fixed, the bathroom is the same, bathrom curtain needs to be replaced, no necessities except for the built in soap in the shower area, stairs need to be repainted, area of hotel is seedy
helpfull staff price
Staff was nice
Bad area, didn't feel comfortable at all there..
The location was very close to the metro station
The room was not clean, the door was broken and the location was not very safe, especially at night.
The room, breakfast included, bed, clean
Noisy neiborhood, kind of agresive with drunks on weekends.
1 Near metro
1 You have to carry your suitcase to upper floor by narrow upstair. No elevator!!! 2 Locate in danger zone
The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was included.
Poorly renovated hotel. No elevator and the bathroom had a hole.
Hotel very centrally located, just off of the Rue du Faubourg St Denis. Minutes from two Metros. Full of bars and bistro's etc. Not really a touristic zone, more native Parisiens which I prefer. I found the staff, particularly the female staff, really friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast provisions; as much coffee as you like! A nice wide comfortable modern bed, which you don't always get in Paris.
Room was somewhat cramped with nowhwere to hang clothes etc. The bathroom toilet section is badly designed, with really limited space to use the loo. Everytime I had a shower water leaked onto the floor outside, despite the plastic rail-curtain. I reported this, but nothing was done to rectify the problem. The hotel really needs to install a lift. Stairwell quite narrow. And quite a lot of noise penetrates through the walls with guests arriving home at night. I got used to this but could have done without. Tv connection ok but only limited French channels. Male staff ok but not as friendly/helpful as female staff. They really need to learn better English in the context of a hotel in a major euro-City!
Poor services and uncomfortable enviroment and smoking room provided.
