Location The pillows and it was expoensive for what it was, however one pays for the location. Parking is difficult unless you are very familiar with Lille and study the immediate location on "Street View". We stayed here because I was working mornings for a week and my partner came for a holiday which worked well because the hotel is right in the middle of the shopping area with plenty of nice cafes close by. We were able to enjoy the rest of the day and the evenings together in the thick of things without having to walk. We chose a city centre location as I am very familiar with Lille, however my partner had never been before. We had a great time and the hotel was absolutely fine for what was needed. next time wwe might stay again hoiwever we may pay a bit more for a higher star rating or quite a lot less and a 20 minute brisk walk to the Grand Place or a few stops on the Citadines bus.

Friendly reception staff and central location in old Lille, close to shops and restaurants. Room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is in a pedestrianised area but this makes it surprisingly noisy at night, especially at the weekend, as groups of people wander past in high spirits! Rooms at the back are probably quieter.

Excellent location, nice room. Friendly staff. Hotel Kanai needs to urgently get Wifi spread throughout the hotel. The 'Wifi only works in reception/lounge' simply doesn't cut in this day and age. It is is so 20th century to still use cables for internet in the rooms. Doesn't work for phones & iPads! A couple of other things that would make it an even better hotel; they should provide coffee making facilities in the rooms. Especially since there is not a 'proper' restaurant / bar area. And the bar doesn't serve Alcohol!!! First time I have ever seen that!

Excellent location, right in the centre. Very close to restaurants, bars, and the big Euralille shopping centre. Parking nearby. Small rooms, but very clean and comfy. If you need an escalator (e.g. disabled people): Kanai doesn't have one.

A small hotel- very good location. 2 min from the metro station. Very poor breakfast no elevator Poor breakfast very small room

Position in centre Parking espensive. 3Rd floor difficult for luggage-no lift. Noisy at night. Room very small-chair unusable. Nowhere to store large case. Sitting area by reception smells of stale socks.

Location brilliant. Just few metres from Xmas market and Grand Place. Typical 2 star hotel. Booked a superior room. Would have been interested to see a standard room as there was nothing really superior about it. Not even a kettle. However room and bathroom were very clean, which is the main thing and as we only stayed one night, it was fine. Would recommend it for the location, but apart from that, may be better getting a more expensive hotel with more facilities. On check out the receptionist didnt speak English and couldnt explain why we were charged more that the 90 euros on the booking. She asked for 190, but a cleaner walked past and explained it was an additional amount of a couple of euros for some tax or another. It would have been very difficult to settle if the cleaner had not been there.

Excellent location within the town center of Lille.Very friendly and helpful staff.Good quality of breakfast.It is possible to reach the train stations by foot provided you do not carry too much luggage. There is no elevator in the hotel.

A nice hotel, in the city center. Friendly staff, great location, clean rooms. Perfect for a short stay in Lille. The breakfast is ok (I only missed freshly squized orange juice).

Excellent location for everything. Front desk staff very friendly. Nice lounge to sit in and use wi-fi after you've checked out. B/fast served until 12, but see comment. Breakfast (8 Euros) had a good selection of different things on the first morning but the staff were caught short the next day because 'everyone' decided to eat breakfast at the same time! Ok, there was an international rugby game on the tv at 10am but surely they knew this and should have planned for it They had to defrost bagettes (ugh!) and didn't replenish the ham and cheese.

The location of the hotel was right in the heart of the City making it easy to get around. The staff were very helpful and obliging - letting us leave our baggage on their premises even though we had to check out. The rooms were very compact - there really wasn't room to hang up clothes as the wardrobe was small in height. There wasn't much room to maneouvre around the room as the bed took up all the space. I would only recommend this hotel if people were staying for a couple of night.

great location on the pedestrian shopping street, easy acces on foot to train station(s) No elevetor, three floor hotel, top floor access by stairs. Do not leave your laptop/luggage with concierge ..not very safe as it is kept in a room accessible to all....they mean well but do have to leave this area and at that time anything can be taken..not safe. Bathroom is great, shower wonderful...but..if you are overweight, the entry into the shower area is small...so you may not be able to sqeeze in...just a warning for the heavier travellers.

Leaving When you open a window its to noisy the breakfast erea is to cramped I am disabled there is no lift no english channels on tv no kettle to make any drinks sunday evening I could not get any sleep it was like sleeping next to a council lorry depot when departing no members of staff spoke english the shower cubicles are not very disabled friendly

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we were given our key we asked if it was a quiet room as some of the rooms overlook the street, they immediately changed the room for one at the back 207, it was one of the best nights sleep we have had in a hotel. The room although small had a lovely large bed and was spotlessly clean. The lounge area and dining room were very nicely decorated.

Great location in the centre of town, staff were really helpful and couldn't of done more. Great park close by and zoo. Parking. £12 euros a day at discount. Best option was to head out for the day and park for free from 7pm - 9am.

Good value for money, good location for centre of town It wasn't the easiest to find as it was actually located on Rue de Bethune butvery near it. So made it difficult to find if using a Tom Tom or street signs

We were most impressed by the hotel & the young polite staff, who all spoke excellent English. We were "upgraded" as the hotel was not full, so are not sure how the "basic" room would have differed. The hotel was not easy to find but that was because we did not have a detailed map of Lille until we located the tourist office. Once we did find it , it was ideally situated for everything we needed. We would certainly stay at Hotel Kanai again if we return to Lille & would recommend it to our friends.Thank you!
