The location is perfect, right in the middle of the city, and 15 minutes walk from the station.
The bathroom/toilette smelled of sewer. room 204.
Great location. Allowed to check in early as the room was available. Despite negative points, it was a cheap room, so still value for money.
Exceptionally thin walls, and floorboards. We were woken by the room above being hoovered quite early. Check in staff quite unfriendly. One coffee capsule, one tea bag, no milk in the room for two people. Very uncomfortable bed.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. I was impressed with the Nespresso machine and free coffee in the room plus the good supply of toiletries!
The room is a little small but for the price, I won't complain.
The location of the hotel is superb, right in the middle of town. The room was tiny but the bed was quite big and comfortable and the bathroom was comparatively speaking quite spacious. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. Breakfast was good. Complimentary coffee in the room + WiFi speed was good (and free). Really great value for money!
No parking at the hotel itself - this is normal in all of central Lille. However, there are parking garages nearby (note: car height max 1.90 m in all of them. If you have a higher car, there's a park&metro option, costs only whatever you pay for the metro ticket)
The breakfasts were excellent, all fresh produce with great croissants. Having decent coffee in your room was a perk.
We were in room 100 and the corridor door was adjacent to our room door.everytime someone open a door downstairs the corridoe door opened and closed due to suction. It sounded like someone knocking at OUr door.Disturbed our first night sleep there badly
Very close to Lille Europe & Lille Flandres station. Staff also spoke English which was a bonus in helping us with directions.
No lift, but staff very willing to help with luggage.
Perfect value for money (with even that little bit of 'extra' that can't be put in money...) - all hail to the perfect, very tasteful breakfast buffet (with loads of local ingredients), served in the small but very enjoyable breakfastroom. A big "Thank you!" to all staff that has been very 'stylishly' gentle; really an 'A'-class service!
Just one thing: a (genuine) 'double bed' is NOT two twin beds with seperate matrasses put together. A true 'double bed' has 1 (óne) large matras. (It really IS important for the sleeping comfort of the couple that shares that bed...)
Very friendly staff, excellent location, rooms small but comfortable.
This boutique hotel has a location that would be hard to beat. Our room, on the top (3rd) floor, was a corner room (302), actually a pie shaped room, looking out on 3 pedestrian streets. A real panorama.
As the reception was one floor up from street level, and as our room (worth reserving if you can) was up 3 more floors, the lack of an elevator was a minus, but in overall terms, price/value outweighed that 'minus'.
I booked this hotel due to the location, I wanted it to be close to the Christmas Market and I wasn't disappointed! The market was right on the doorstep-perfect! The hotel was clean and the room was a lovely size with everything we needed!
I was ready to leave a 100% positive review, however, as I was due to leave I was advised by the receptionist, who had been perfectly pleasant up to this point, that my bill was unpaid. I informed him that the money had come out of my bank, I had already spoken to my bank regarding this as the money had come out the previous night even though the website said it wouldn't come out till the night of the stay. The gentleman then proceeded to tell me that the hotel had blocked the payment and I should make the payment to him, then money taken out of my bank would be refunded. I told him I was unable to do this. I also had to contact my bank to confirm the money had been taken out and I was given an authorisation code. At this point his manner became less pleasant and only after 15 minutes of him trying to persuade me to make another payment was I able to leave, still refusing to make the payment. I am very disappointed with how my visit ended as prior to this I really had no complaints. If the hotel policy is to request the money from the bank the day before a stay this should be stated on the website and also if they then want payment made at the end of the stay, this should also be advised. I wish I didn't have to leave a negative comment but felt that this matter needed to be addressed. I would be reluctant to stay at the hotel again which is a shame as my friend and I had been planning another visit in the spring.
The staff were amazing, very helpful, informative and generally couldn't do enough for you.
Bathroom is quite small
Perfect stay. Large and comfortable room with 3 windows opening on a pedestrian street, excellent situation, polite and smiling people at reception.
The hotel was well located and the staff were absolutely superb, very friendly and helpful. Comfort was excellent and the room well equipped. Hardly any noise from the street on a busy Saturday night.......
An overall pleasant stay in a very lovely town. The location was perfect and facilities were adequate for a double room, with the exception that there wasn't a bathroom door when it faces the window, overlooking the opposite room. Perhaps this is just an exception to room 212 but a bathroom door instalment would be more of a necessity.
Great location, friendly staff, and very nice room.
no fridge, a little noise
Staff available, very competent gorgious breakfast Very quiet room on demand
Soaps not replaced
the location and the rooms
a bit noisy as its on the main shopping road .depending on which room you have.
We were delighted to find this boutique hotel in old Lille, and within walking distance of the train station. We had travelled on the Eurostar from England, and were on our way by train the next day to fly out from cdg airport. The hotel provided exactly the kind of stopover we needed; with a lovely breakfast, helpful staff, and very good facilities. We loved being able to explore old Lille on foot too after we arrived, by just walking out the door.
The only difficulty are the stairs - but staff helped with our luggage so that was no problem.
Very central, fantastic breakfast, cosy rooms, nice and forthcoming personnel
Small wardrobe, no water in the room.
You couldn't beat the location of this hotel so close to the heart of the Old Lille. Short walk from the train station too. The staff was marvelous. They went out of their way whether it was getting us an iron and inroning board or recommending good restaurants. While this is a three star hotel, it has a five star staff.
Location was great. Staff friendly. Clean room & bathroom.
No lift. We were on the 2nd floor. Our room was the size of a matchbox! It was almost impossible for 2 average size people, to move from the bed to the bathroom, let alone have 2 large suitcases in the room. It's by far the smallest bedroom we have ever been in & we travel extensively! Therefore, it's hard to say it was value for money.
location was good, bed was comfortable
carpets were worn and stained. wallpaper was scuffed and peeling off wall. settee had stain on of dubious origin. Suite we had was strange. sitting room area was very depressing with no natural light.
Excellent location near Rihour Metro, 5 minutes from the main square, 3 minutes from central restaurants and about 15 min walk from Eurostar station. Friendly staff, good bed, breakfast fine. Shower, air con, tv all worked as intended. We were on the third floor and suspect that the rooms there may be a little smaller than the lower floors.
The trudge up to the third floor. Reception is on the first floor and the building has no lift. The stairs are steep and will test your fitness - so accept the staff's offer of help with your luggage!
