When we arrived it was a very hot day. We had booked two rooms, for two nights, and neither room had been prepared so that it was cool for our arrival (the drapes were open and it was a very, very hot day), with no air-conditioning activated. Perhaps this was because we found out after we arrived that the air-conditioning in our rooms was very sub-standard. It was turned up to the coldest temperature on the controller, but the rooms were still very hot, to the point where it made our stay quite uncomfortable, and sleeping difficult. The general foyer areas of the hotel were like a sauna. The coolest area of the hotel was reception, which was at the right temperature, but a very small area reserved for staff, and not possible for us to sleep there! The rooms were both quite small. In our room, there was no room for the ironing board, which was standing up against the wall next to the bathroom. There was no air-conditioning in the bathrooms. There were no suit case frames for place our suitcases on, so they had to be accessed on the floor. The water for our showers had very low pressure and was not hot. Our room had a white shower curtain, which had orange mildew growing on the bottom of it, as well as around the edges of the grout on the shower floor - this was not hygienic. There were no benches or cupboards in the bathrooms to store any toiletries, so we had to put them in plastic bags on the floor, which was an issue as it was also the shower floor because the shower sprayed water all over the bathroom floor. The toilet paper was one ply, so it was fortunate that we bought our own with us. There was no wardrobe, and just a small hanging hutch in the corner. We were told on check in that it would be so busy the morning that we were to check out, that it would be better for us to pay the evening before departure.... We were very surprised that the reception was unmanned when we left at check out time, with no clients waiting.
