In the center of the historic town of Nîmes is Hôtel La Baume. It is a stunning, 17th-century town house that offers contemporary rooms with an LCD TV.
Score from 630 reviews Good
Le Cheval Blanc is in the historic heart of Nimes, across from the Roman Arena and a 5-minute walk from Nimes Train Station. It has rooms with private bathrooms with air conditioning.
Score from 1010 reviews Very good
Location fine, easy to locate. Room adequately sized and confortable, though no bathroom door. Garage parking. Service friendly and helpful.
Ubicación, trato del personal, limpieza
Precio un poco alto
Handy to main centre, friendly obliging staff, value for money breakfast. Gorgeous posters n art throughout hotel!
Plastic shower curtain. Flat pillows. Plastic cups for hot drinks. No instructions for wall mounted hair dryer.
Good room and location. If no car, perfect.
Parking lot not really spacious and therefore watch ou where exactly ou place the car. We had to get up early to make space for other travellers to leave. Just very tiny.
It was clean and located in the centre.
The area is not safe, we saw two fights and lots of broken glass from car break-ins. Lack of space in the garage had to park on the street. The member of staff that checked us in was rude. The room we had did not have blackout curtains so we could not sleep.
Value, just what one would expect for a low cost hotel. Just perfect. Staff were more than helpful, very friendly and knowledgable, good all rounder, would recommend
It's a low cost hotel what is there not too like,,,, it was perfect adequate, no negitive at all.
the pokey room we were put in. asked to be moved to a better room but was refused.
Excellent setting for a visit to Nimes.
Very difficult to find...the people we asked were really helpful but it was still very difficult to find the hotel by car. Room was "compact"
The location was ideal for the arena and the old town etc and was at the junction of two relatively quiet streets. The staff were very friendly and all spoke good english. The buffet breakfast was adequate but lacked variety.
The room was quite small and did not lend itself to relaxing in but was adequate as a base.
The location was unbeatable, just a minute's walk from the old centre. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast, at 9,50 euros, was typically French.
Wifi seemed a bit temperamental.
The staff is fabulous. The location is great - close to train station, main roads and the historic center of NImes. The breakfast was good and glad there is parking under the hotel. I liked the bullfighting art.
The rooms need to be kept up better. Light bulbs were out. No good reading lamps. Too few bath tubs. Chipped, worn, old, furniture.
Good location, friendly staff, garage
The door of garage is controled from reciption only and there is no any communication except camera. We made a short pause before leaving, suddenly the door was closed and we spend up to ten minutes trying to get out before the man on the reciption saw us in his camera and opened the door:)
I stayed her for three nights from the 14th October to the 17th October 2013 (a twin room). The stay was entirely unproblematic and the hotel was able to accommodate me arriving four hours prior to check in. My room was clean, there was clean towels provided and the bathroom was also clean. There was a small desk, free wi-fi connection, a large tv with international channels, a kettle with coffee and tea sachets, sugar and milk, and in the bathroom there was a hairdryer and a couple of small bottles of mineral water. The hotel is literally a five to six minute walk - (down the same road that the hotel is based on) to the railway station, taxi rank and the bus station which is especially handy if you choose to take the 5.5 euro airport shuttle bus which stops outside of the railway station. Finally, I found the gentleman behind reception (when I arrived) to be amiable and very helpful even providing me with a map of Nimes with the major attractions encircled.
No bath in the bathroom just a shower Temperamental wi-fi connection Bathrooms are clean but need to be re-grouted.
Central location. 5 minutes walk from the old part of the city and the Roman temple. Private parking. English speaking staff
Difficult to find without up to date sat nav.
city location, but hard to find
noisy.room rather poor and dowdy.
missing room equipment (kettle, closet door, lamp didn't work) expensive breakfast and parking small room (nearly couldn't fit a child bed)
Shower a walk in shower would be better it was hard for elderly people to get in and out of shower
