Ideally located along the Royal Canal, this 19th century edifice welcomes you in a typical Hausmannian building near the center of the city. Blending antique charm, a host of facilities and an inviting atmosphere, Hôtel L'orque Bleue features 30 comfortable rooms with private bathrooms; some even have a king size bed. Location was good. We enjoyed walking around the city with a nice view of the canal. Parking is too small. Have to pay 9 euros and the hotel staff told us to park 20cm close to the other cars. Cannot get out of the car without hitting the door to the others. Finding the entrance of the garage is complicated too. Would not recommend to stay at this place if travelling by car. Breakfast costs 9 euros even for a 4 year old child.

Hotel location was excellent, especially for the views of the harbour, central position and restaurants. The staff were all extremely helpful and courteous and thankfully spoke very good English. If you are in a car, try to find parking along the street 50m away from the hotel to avoid paying parking charges. Our car battery went flat overnight and the hotel receptionist was very helpful in calling the breakdown service who came within 30 minutes. There was also one English news channel available to keep you informed of world events. We did not eat in the hotel. This is purely because there are many cafes and restaurants surrounding the hotel. The hotel is an excellent place to stay and we would certainly go back again. Room decoration was a little bland.

The hotel and room were clean and very suitable for our purposes. The location in Sete was superb with a very short walk to all the restaurants/shops in the harbour and to the town centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was 9 euros and probably value for money however there are other establishments nearby that you can use instead if you just want a quick/small breakfast. Dinner is not available at the hotel but this did not matter as there are so many local restaurants nearby that are priced relatively cheaply that we wanted to try anyway.

Large room with separate bathroom and toilet. Convenient for the centre of the town. For the price - compared to other French hotels visited - the breakfast wasn't that sparkling - considering fruit and bread locally available. Unlimited sugar should also be made available. 2 packs really isn't sufficient - especially for use with very strong coffee, naturel yoghourt etc.

I loved the city of Sete and the hotel was placed in an excellent location for covering everything on foot. Lots of excellent places to eat close by. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We stayed just one night on our way to our next location and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The hotel only five minutes taxi ride to the railway station. Be careful booking your taxi - he arrived earlier than we had booked so we were not quite ready when he arrived, but charged us for the five minutes he waited for us. Bit cheeky! But what a cunning way to make more money.

Ensure you book a room with a canal view- a little noisy but worth it to overlook the canal. Stunning both by night and early morning. Parking a problem.I left the hire car parked in a busy area alongside the canal and found the door dented in the morning. The hotel has it's own garage but it is difficult to access and charges 9 euros a night.

Comfortable beds and canal-side view (we moved there for our last night and it was worth the extra payment). Breakfast was very poor value - better to eat out.

“I found the staff very welcoming and attentive. They were also helpful in respect to advice about getting around Sete and places to visit. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, with good use of colour and design features. It is also just ten minutes easy walking from the train station, next to the theatre, and on the main bus route.” Anne, London |
