meals in the evening were excellent
shower not fixed to wall
The evening meal with choices of well prepared typical local dishes was great. And the small but smart modern shower room was very acceptable.
The twin beds were past their best and being very close to the floor presented some difficulties when getting out of them, even for an agile and active senior. The hotel has no grounds other than an attractive garden at the rear. Its entrance is directly onto the pavement of the main village thoroughfare, with parking some 100 metres away.
Look and feel: cosy and authentic Nice big room at good rate Foix is close and worth a 1-day visit
Bathroom a bit outdated and toilet made a lot of noise. Breakfast cheap, but bit disappointing. For us rather charge more and give wider choice.
The room was adequate clean and quiet. The restaurant and food was excellent and good value.
The shower was tiny if you dropped the soap you had to get out pick up the soap and then get back in again.
Landlady very friendly and helpful, especially if your French isn't that good. Excellent kitchen with set menu or a la carte and great wines at affordable price (make a reservation early - the place seems to be treasured also by locals).
Rooms are clean and o.k.ish, but somewhat antiquated. Especially bathroom really needs a refurbishment (rundown bathtub surface, mirror at belly's height, shaky toilet bowl).
We very much enjoyed our stay at La Barguillere - the room was comfortable, very clean, and had a lovely view of the gardens. Anne was a sweet and gracious hostess - she made us feel welcome and comfortable. The restaurant was absolutely fantastic - we ate there both nights of our stay and loved both meals. The food was fresh and impeccably prepared. Breakfast was also delicious. We would definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend to anyone traveling in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Good , helpful , friendly staff.Lovely gardens.Good beds. Nice village and lovely walks near by. Good food when restaurant opened on Sat evening. Ecological awareness: towels not changed every day unless specifically requested.
Price of breakfast , 10 euros, far too much. Restaurant closed on Sunday, as advertised but unlike advertised impossibility to book a meal if done 2 days in advance.
Everything. Staff friendly, food good, good value
Wonderfully quiet location with fantastic garden to sit in wuth a cold glass of wine
Very friendly staff, with useful suggestion on where to eat when they were not open. Very pleasant area on the terrace behind the hotel with shade from the sun. Their meals were very good too.
Nothing. Everything was excellent.
The food is great value for money and very tasty. The room was large and comfortable.
the lady who owns and runs the place could not have been more helpful and friendly. She really goes the extra mile. There is a nice garden with a seating area for use in fine weather. The food is of very high quality and of remarkable value. People from the locality come to dine there. It must be the best eating for miles around.
The room was a little on the small side, but there is nothing can be done about that; the building is as it is. There is nothing to see or do in the village itself, but plenty in the surrounding area, so it has to be seen as a base for exploration.
Very pleasant room and decent restaurant
Friendly and helpful staff.
Parking can be a problem.
Anne was most charming and made us feel at home right away. Their restaurant serves some very tasty dishes. We enjoyed our stay.
Nice quirky place with good food
Public parking was quite a distance
Clean, comfortable, well designed accommodation with bike storage. Welcoming host.
Unfortunately the restaurant is closed Sundays, but Foix is only 5km away.
A quaint Auberge, very good location and facilities. Anne Landes, the owner made us very welcome! Food was excellent in the evening and also the breakfast! Will definitely use the Auberge again and recommend it highly!
No negative points.
Anne is a wonderful host in a beautiful setting with a lovely garden and excellent restaurant.
My experience of the Auberge was very good. The owner even phoned me in advance to let me know that the restaurant would not be open on the evening we arrived. We were greeted and told that should we want anything just to ring the buzzer, which we did and were brought drinks into the garden, each with a piece of cake; made with honey from next door. My husband and I had a room at the back overlooking the garden which was very peaceful. indeed we enjoyed a drink here after coming back from a meal in Foix. The breakfast was copious and had lots of local products to try, as well as the usual fayre. I only wish we had arrived on a different day so we could have tried the restaurant
Restaurant not open on the day we stayed.
