nice rooms/bathroom/good breakfast/pool distant to any city attractions - MUST use car or taxi; rooms from the road side are noisy due to local but heavy traffic |

The staff were friendly and courteous without being intrusive. The hotel had a very French atmosphere, was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We found La Bastide to be the perfect place to relax, whilst being close to all the attractions of the Cote D'Azur in one direction and the mountains in the other. It is an ideal hotel for couples, within a mile of the centre of Valbonne with its many quality restaurants and attractive shops. Both the Friday morning market and Sunday morning 'flea' market are well worth a visit. We would strongly recommend to anyone considering staying at La Bastide to go to the extra expense of booking a first floor pool side room. Perfect! We couldn't fault the hotel itself. The only slight downside is that it was not possible to safely walk into Valbonne because of the lack of a footpath. |

This is a lovely hotel with a small pool and a terrace on wich they serve breakfast. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotle is not really within walking distance of restaurants as other reviews have suggested. It is about 1.5km to Valbonne (whch is lovely) but the road is winding and there are no pavements - a definite drive I would say. |

Comfort of rooms, friendliness if staff, location and cleanliness. Homely feeling. Peace of surroundings. Noisy children - not their fault. |

The setting was lovely. The extensive gardens with copious rock walls, sculptures and fountains and a pool were meticulously kept. The owner was friendly and gracious and spoke English well. The French Provincial decor was also a treat to observe. |

Beautiful beautiful hotel, staff were exceptionally lovely and helpful, pool and gardens were gorgeous, breakfast available was lovely and even though there was no on site restaurant the staff were always more than willing to rustle you up some fruit or a salad plate.. highly recommended. Nothing bad to say but probably best to hire a car if you are planning on using this hotel as a base to visit the surrounding areas, we didnt and found the bus service a little complicated.. |

All of the staff spoke English and were very helpful. The facilities were very chaming, close enough for day trips to the coast and medieval villages by car. Breakfast was not included, but was a very nice buffett. Very good restaurants within walking distance. |

The hotel was an extremely well run comfortable hotel , the family and co workers could not have made you more welcome, the fresh pain au chocolat, croissants and bread etc were delicious, nothing seemed to be to much trouble. only one small thing i would say that i didn`t like, was the closeness of the toilet in our room to the wall. |

A very well appointed hotel, in lovely grounds & with very helpful staff. It is near to a road but in the rooms overlooking the swimming pool there is no noise at all from traffic. There is no restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat in the town which is only a kilometer away. |

Warm welcome, attentive helpful staff. Lovely grounds with utterly clean, very comfortable room. Very relaxed, and superb position for the coast and inland exploration. Could have done with a bigger safe in the room. |

The warm and friendly feel of the place and people. The facilities were very good for us, room, pool, grounds, breakfast. Convenient for bus into Cannes which we found more convenient and less stressful than using the car, Once in Cannes you can take the train, the bus drops you outside the railway station. The hotel was fine but there are some dangerous stretches on the road from the hotel into Valbonne if you choose to walk there!!! |

My sister & I had a car and went to Grasse to the train station. When we returned that evening (late) our train to Grasse was cancelled. We took the wrong bus to Grasse and were stuck at the bus station there with no way to call a taxi, although a few people tried to help us. I finally called our hotel and the night man Mousse was kind enough to arrange for a taxi to pick us up. |
