Cadenet, the nearest village - we never would have had 2 delicious meals there if we hadn't stayed here. Lovely grounds, but likely much better in warmer, sunnier weather. We couldn't take advantage of them, including the pool area or outdoor eating due to weather while we were there. Breakfast was fine for me, though my husband would have liked some eggs (not hard boiled). Very tasty home-made breads baked by Sylvane.
Host (Sylvane) was not warm and welcoming as we had expected from online reviews. Plus, she was far from forthcoming with info unless probed - she could have tried in French, which I could understand well enough. Few really useful maps and limited tourist info in a pile in dining room. Room could have used a luggage stand.
Beautiful proveçal-style mansion located just outside Cadnet, only a few minutes drive into the village. The property features a stunning garden and a great swimmingpool. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, with a lot of attention to every single detail. There's a good selection of toiletries in the bathroom, in case you forget something. The matress on our bed was a little soft - although it didn't bother me. Great wifi connection in the room. Good selection of sweet and savory options for breakfast in the morning.
We arrived at 1.30 and there seem to be no one on the property. We rang the bell several times and no one answered. After a few minutes, I eventually called the mobile number displayed on the doorbell and the lady picked up the phone. She was in the house but said check-in was at 4 and I was too early so the rooms weren't ready. She seemed quite bothered by our early arrival and I felt that was a little abrupt. But eventually she turned nice all of a sudden and let us drop our luggage in the room, so we went into town for a meal while the room was being cleaned. A part from this little incident, everything else was perfect. I would recommend to make an apppointment for the check-in. Also, be aware that no English is spoken here.
Very big room Very nice and big bathroom The breakfast buffet
Decor, lovely restoration, friendly people, excellent breakfast.
Lovely accommodation and peaceful rural setting.
We had advised the owners in writing that we would have our dog with us. On arrival they said he was too big, they would only accept a small dog, and we could not stay. After much discussion, we were allowed to stay. We had booked an evening meal but this was not offered.
