Hôtel La Flore  

My wife and I were transitioning from the language school, L'Institut de Francais, and needed a hotel room in Villefranche before leaving the next day.

We have two somewhat minor complaints, but in a hotel such as La Flore these should not have been/happened. The first is that there are no kleenex/tissues/mouchoirs in the chambres. Every other hotel at this level we have stayed in has them. An inconvenience without them. The second is that they forgot to call a taxi for us in the morning when we had asked for one at check-in the previous afternoon. It was even entered in the book, but someone dropped the ball. Luckily we flagged down a taxi as it drove by and made it to Nice train station on time.

The room was nice and clean with a beautiful terrace that had a fantastic view of the Mediterranean sea. It was just a short walk to all the sights, shops, and restaurants.

Good location - sea front restaurants in walking distance. Good view from balcony. Rooms very clean.

The bar and restaurant weren't open in the evenings, which was a shame, because it looked a nice area. Also, the hotel is a little jaded, but kept very clean.

Location and view...price/performance

In general, the La Flore offers good price/performance and the location/view compensates for any other shortcomings the traveler may experience. The breakfast - although in a nice setting and friendly staff - did not impress us too much and sometimes the road near buy can be noisy.

The hotel wasnt' too far from the harbour and restaurants.

I had imagined, from the website, that the view would have been better and not have been obscured by buildings in front and construction works. The swimming pool was not heated but I suspect this was the season.

Die Zimmer sind sauber. Der Meerblick ist super. Auf jeden Fall mit Balkon und Meerblick buchen. Das Personal ist familiär und sehr hilfsbereit.

Das Hotel hat die besten Zeiten hinter sich und ist ein wennig renvierungsbedürftig. Es bröckelt der Putz

ontbijt was uitgebreider dan in veel andere gelegenheden. Ik reis de helft van het jaar en heb meer dan 25 jaar met fransen samen gewerkt. Vrolijke dame, die laat zien dat ze fijn vind wat ze doet en 'smorgens heerlijk eieren bakt. Daarnaast heerlijk verse croissants, jus en grapefruit juice, ham en salami maar ook hard gekookte eieren en yoghurt. vlak aan zee, wij zijn van kamer 11 geswitched naar 46 omdat we een korte huwelijksreis maakten. Niets op aan te merken. Kamer 11 was wel wat klein en aparte bedden tijdens zo'n trip nemen, lijkt me minder verstandig..... Hotel remarquablement situé sur la rade de Villefranche, calme, bien insonorisé, avec parking très pratique pour visiter la ville, petit déjeuner avec vue imprenable. Ambiance agréable Dans la réservation de booking, il y a une catégorie de chambres mansardées qui apparaît juste après le paiement. Heureusement, sur place le personnel a fait le nécessaire pour que nous ayons une chambre avec vue. Pour l'été un frigo dans les chambres peut s'avérer utile.
