Everything about this hotel! The location is very convenient for us and we enjoy our brief stays each year. La Glycine is always our first choice when we come to France twice a year if it isn't booked up.
There is nothing we dislike with your hotel.
Clean and comfortable
Nothing really. Service in the restaurant was a little disjointed.
Brilliant restaurant - really absolutely first rate Convenience of location Good modern room - Number 7
This hotel really needs a bar area where you can relax with a drink. Because of its evident popularity for dinner, most of the principal areas have been turned into restaurant space.
Good food, good atmosphere, convenient, good price for the value.
The bedroom was a bit small for a family of 4.
The location's great with easy access. The food was very good.
A smell of humidity/dampness in our room which come from standing water in the wet room from previous customers/cleaner and lack of ventilation. Waiting time in the restaurant, from arriving-first customer of the evening to the time member of my party got their food, one hour which is not acceptable. Lack of coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
Everything! We have stayed at La Glycine many times over the years, and the standard is always the same - excellent! Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, and fab restaurant! We love it.
Close proximity to Ferry, good restaurant and friendly staff.
Accommodation was very good with recently refurbished and decorated room, excellent Wi-Fi reception in bedroom. Excellent location and plenty or car parking. Very high standard restaurant with good choice of menus.
Some of the restaurant staff need extra training, removing aperitifs before they were finished and stretching across one diner to serve another, was not expected in this standard of restaurant.
Quick to check in and out
Ease of access to ferryport
Room rather hot
Rooms were furnished recently, so everything was clean and new. Staff (outside restaurant) were nice and helpful. The food in the restaurant tasted excellent.
Rooms were small and double bed narrow. The service in the restaurant was e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y slow: even thou we were the first ones to arrive, it took 50 minutes to get the first plate. the food tasted excellent, but next night we suffered from the food poisoning and had to cut short our holiday. the noice from restaurant was quite well blocked, but not when the quests were paying and leaving. Not so pleasant stay...
Restaurant excellent. Room satisfactory.
No tea and coffee in room. Receptionist (male) did not speak English which is unusual these days and was less than helpful with our attempts to speak French
excellent cuisine and very helpful, bright staff.
bedroom a little small and as bed was put against wall there was no room to access it from each side. a shame that this aspect spoils what is otherwise an excellent hotel.
Could not facilitate us as residents for dinner on arrival night
Friendly staff, superb restaurant, comfortable bed, great venue to spoil yourself. Ideal location for visiting Pegasus Bridge and museum.
Comfortable accommodation, high standard restaurant with a good choice of menu.
Had double room in purpose built block away from main hotel. Room spacious clean, with good bathroom.
Parking is limited if there is enough room, you can park in walled yard area you must park at an angle to get in and out very very tight for a larger car.
The closeness to and the ease of getting to the ferry port. The closeness to Pegasus Bridge. The availability of off street parking. We appreciated the restaurant as there didn't appear to be many other eating places in the area.
The parking area was rather narrow and it could have been difficult to get the car in a space had there been more vehicles in the car park.
having to pay extra for breakfast did not go down to well ie £100. the shower needed painting damp marks on ceiling.speaking English a problem at reception at times
Location to the ferry port.
Been to this hotel three times before.Room very hot, asked for fan to cool it down refused and told I only paid 9euros for my stay. I paid 100 euros plus 63 euros in the restaurant. Asked by the manager to prove it. Got my receipt and he backed down a bit. Swapped to room on ground floor which I had pre booked a month previously via email and phone, neither were responded to by the staff there. On check in we were told the pre ordered room was unavailable. This was the room we were swapped to at the end of the evening. I do not expect a "non" from the manger when asking for a simple request such as a fan for the room, he was angry and unapproachable. No wifi at all, asked why, same response , "non" . Won't be staying again, felt very uncomfortable with this situation.
Staff made good job helping non French speaking English couple feel welcome. Food was very good as was the service
Nothing to not like
Excellent food and drinks with cocktails and they must be used to the English as they even bought butter with the bread. Nice staff too. Would go there again
We were on a Normandy 'D day' visit & this hotel was 500m from Pegasus Bridge - a great start. Also perfectly positioned for a lot of the other significant D Day sites. Hotel was clean, modern & the staff were so friendly. Great service.
