Ideal for our purpose which was to have a meal at La Gris Nez

La Griz Nez was closed!

Happend to be a day with snow and cold. But was nice and the view arround, specially on top the coast were is so much history from the second world war was very impressive. We saw english coast and snow stoped. Was very nice. Later , weather was nice and view very clear. And everything was white.

Nice staff, very clean and comfortable.

Perfect location near the beach. Lovely big living room and kitchen. Nice bathroom.

The only problem was that in the studio, the roof sloped so severely that getting in and out of the bed was very difficult to do without banging your head on the ceiling - and I am only 5ft 1 in tall. Also, we were charged for a breakfast even though the person who was to have eaten it was ill, which wasn't good and the breakfast was quite expensive for what it was.

Proximity to other settlements and the beach

You will need a car to explore the surrounding area the village itself was not the best

Spacious studio with comfortable furnishings and well laid. Safe gardens and car-park area,with beach access across the road. Well located for Calais.

We had a studio apartment that was fairly clean and stocked. We were at the end of the small beachside town, so it was quiet and close to the beach with ample free parking. There is a large garden with picnic tables and lawn chairs, boules, swings, etc.

There was a lot of mold in the shower and no bathtub. While it had been advertised as having a "view," we were disappointed that the view did not include the beach or the ocean, but rather the parking lot. Also the balcony was not private but rather the walkway and seating area for each apartment on the floor, so there was no privacy. It was also not clear in the advertisement that it was a self-cleaning gite, otherwise a charge of 35 euros. However given that we were only there for two nights, the manager stated that we would not be charged for it if we did minor cleaning, removal of linens, dishes washed, fridge/stovetop cleaned if necessary. I'm waiting to check my credit card to see if indeed he waived the cleaning fee.

The location was ideal as it was just across the road from the beach ans literally a 10 minute drive to the eurotunnel. The facilities in the room were excellent with a fridge and cooking facilities and all the necessary equipment. The room was very clean and the water for the shower was very hot. The beds were very comfortable.

I did not like the fact that i was expectede to clean the room myself and strip down the beds etc before i left. There was an option to have the room cleaned by he hotel staff but the cost was 35 euro which was far too expensive. We luckily only stayed one night on our way home to england so we did not get it very dirty. also the cost of the continental brekfast was expensive at 10 euro per person.

The bathroom was extremely small, with a minute shower. The stairs (there is no lift) were very narrow and winding. Difficult for mature people to ascend or descend especially with luggage. Breakfast was not particularly good, although sufficient. Definitely not value for money compared to other hotels used during this trip.

Convenient location

As a mature couple we were allocated a room on the second floor - no lift and very narrow/steep stairs to second floor, quite difficult to negotiate with suit bag etc. basic room, light blew in bathroom when we arrived and we had gone out for dinner before it was fixed. Ad hoc reception staffing arrangements.

Personnel was nice. Good Breakfast (to be paid separately). Close to Cap Blanc Nez. Nice environment

It was clean, quiet and a convenient distance from the Eurotunnel

Not sure if this is a problem with my satnav but my TomTom couldn't find the road on which the hotel is located.I Think the naming convention is different between TomTom and The Hotel. It would be useful if the satellite coordinates were provided as part of the hotel details. This was not a big problem as the hotel is easy to find.

We stayed for one night.The owner was very nice on arrival.app is dated but clean it was 1min walk to the beach and my daughter loved is and 5min drive to tunnel. Plenty of space.

No elevator so had to carry bags up two flights including our travel cot.app is dated but clean be warned if you stay in the app even for one night you have to service the room yourself ie. Make bed sweep floors clean down bathroom wash up and wipe down everything.your not told this on booking or when checking in.we found a note on the kitchen table and if you don't clean up and take out your rubbish defrost fridgeTHEY charge you an extra 35 EURO.we wont be staying here again. It was just what we needed but I dont want to be mopping floors whilst on holiday.

Great location. We arrived a bit late as part of a Cycling Tour. The owner, 'Renault', could not have been more helpful. We had an apartment style room that that was well furnished and very clean. We had to leave early in the morning and Renault provided an early full Breakfast for us and made himself available to help and attend to us. Very attentive. Would definitely recommend and return.

Good beds and easy to find.

Breakfast was skimpy not good value for money. Beware that if you do not clean your room before leaving they can charge you 35 euro. Beware that asking for twinbeds they charge you 7 euro extra. All this was not advertised before arrivning.

We had booked a room for 4 people, it turned out to be a little appartment, which was very well equipped. The location is great, with the beach just opposite the road and only a 5 minute drive to the Eurotunnel Sation. The free parking facilities are very practical as well. The owners are very nice people, they even arranged a little surprise for my mums 60th birthday, which we highly appreciated. We will surely stay there again as you get good value for money.

The sofa (can be used as sofa bed) in our living room was not very comfy and could barely seat the three of us. A radio/CD player would have been welcome as well. But these are of course minor details.

Easy to get to from Calasi . Friendly staff , good breakfast .Good parking , quiet location .

The doublebed was a bit too small .

This is a 2 star gem - friendly, comfortable and convenient for the tunnel. The room was nice and the breakfast was excellent value - thus will be our channel tunnel overnighter from now on - such a welcome change from the impersonal hotel chains... See you again!
