Mercure Honfleur hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Honfleur Harbour and the center of town. It offers most rooms with views of the impressive Pont de Normandy, and free Wi-Fi access.
Score from 337 reviews Very good
The breakfast and the decor were delightful. We especially liked the focus on local organic foods.
Lack of car parking was a big problem for us. It was also a shame that the little courtyard was untidy when the rooms were so nice.
Perfect place !
Honfleur is lovely. This B&B hasn't been open too long. The proprietress has renovated the building and it is very different. If you are looking for a conventional luxury B&B This is not the place for you. But if you are 'arty' and like a 'cluttered' feel to your accommodation with lots of interesting features (including the electric wiring!) you may love this place. It is within walking distance of the Vieux Bassin so is convenient for the town which is the reason to be in Honfleur.
It was very pricey at E136 per night. But compared to others in Honfleur that is perhaps what you have to pay.
Hosts very helpful & friendly . location great as close to old town & still quiet. Lovely breakfast.
Very steep & narrow stairs to rooms.
Location was great. Aline, the landlord and host, was charming, very helpful, made excellent breakfasts...and conversation. Access to the kitchen at all hours was a plus. Enjoyed the charm of staying in an original 17th century house. Would stay there again..
Parking was a problem, patience and walking were requisite parking problem resolutions. (Parking is very scarce in all of the Normandie towns) Some travelers may be put off by staying in a very old house.
Madame was charming and helpful. Her home has been beautifully restored with great style and attention to detail. It has a bohemian air to it. Our room, in the garden section, was gorgeous. Luxurious and quirky, with beautiful reclaimed pieces of wood and glass. The bed was as good as we've ever slept in. Massive and unbelievably comfortable. The bathroom was chic and luxurious. Perfect for a romantic break any time of the year. Many thanks. Rob and Louise - Cheltenham.
Only stayed a night on a stopover, absolutely loved this place, would definitely stay again.
Put simply..............this place is awesome!! Our host was extremely accommodating and friendly. Within walking distance of harbour and all local restaurants. Excellent value and have plans to call for a longer stay next time. The room was very comfortable and quirky with our own little veranda. Nothing was too much trouble for our host whose English was, fortunately, much better than our French!!!
We stayed in the garden room. Very special decoration, either you love it or you hate it. We though it was quite cosy and warm. The room itself was comfortable, clean and up to modern standards. It had a small terrace equipped with a small table and two chairs. When we returned to our room late in the evening, the owner had lightened candles and enchantingly Christmas like lights in the garden...Wonderful! Breakfast was ok. I would definitely recommend this genuine B&B for everyone visiting Honfleur!
The rooms were excellent, the staff extremely helpful and having breakfast in the garden was a lovely surprise. Stars all round.
The upper room was beautiful but more information regarding limitations for less mobile visitors would have been good.
The owner was friendly and helpful The room was decorated niceyl
Parking was hard to get. The owner was very helpfull to get parking place
This a comfortable cosy little guest house full of character & charm. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The building is very old but the facilities are all up to date and clean. Walking distance to the centre of town.
Parking near by could be an issue, town car parks are within walking distance though. Stairs could be an issue for some.
Location, staff, breakfast,
Steep spiral stairs
Very limited parking space
We loved everything about Honfleur and our amazing accommodation. Steep stairs though so travel light, but well worth the effort. Beautiful old building that has been lovingly restored with modern facilities including wifi available. Do not hesitate to stay here you will be amazed.
Convenient for the center of Honfleur, old building lot of charachter
Junkyard furnishing and decoration ruined the atmosphere. Unimpressive attempt at breakfast
Boutique, quirky, stylish, yet traditional guesthouse. Close to centre & lovely owner. We loved it all, thank you!
Situated in the Old Town, the house is situated over three floors, each as quirky as the next. Furnishings are excellent, very comfortable! Located just one street away from the harbour area, which boasts hundreds or restaurants and bars. The owner of the B&B gave us a map and listed all the good places to visit - and she wasn't wrong!
The rooms have been made quirky with various lighting in different areas of the room, which I loved, however to use them, you have to find the relevant switches which are located al around the room. Make's it interesting when trying to go to bed. Still works well though.
The owner was very friendly and attentive and put on a simple fresh breakfast each day which was perfect. Room was excellent with plenty of charm. Although the terrace was small, it was a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day. Great location for the town....we could walk everywhere.
Characterful and quirky. Centrally located with easy parking close by. Help with baggage up the narrow winding staircases was much appreciated.
Very traditional classic French Comfortable room tastefully decorated Good location for the harbour and restaurants Very friendly host
Minor point, have a word with your joiner who put the wall cladding up in bed / bathrooms spoiled it with the visable line of screws
A typical French house. Superb ambience, soft lights in breakfast room and bedroom (bedroom was large) and on first floor. 5 mins walk to centre of Honfleur. Loved the concrete spiral staircase to bedroom, with rope bannister. However you need to be agile to cope with it.
It was expensive but a lovely experience. Honfleur is expensive all round. Two large beers were 17 euros.
This is a charming and delightful place to visit in an ideal spot close to the town centre. Free parking is very close by and the wi-fi connection is excellent. Tucked away in a small street it is quiet and cooling after a long day of sightseeing. As others have stated Aline is delightful and looked after ourselves and my elderly mother (plus wheelchair) in a very personal and gentle way. Always happy to spend time with you to talk about anything that comes to mind, she makes you feel as if you are staying with her as against staying in a property not your own. Breakfast (in the form of bread and pastries) comes from about 50 yards away so couldn't be fresher if it tried. My wife and I stayed in the room on the top floor whilst my mother went into the Garden Room which, barring a small set of steps, is essentially at ground level and therefore easier to negotiate. All three rooms were fabulously quirky and eclectic in their decoration and simply added to the fun of the stay. You will not find a more fun, enjoyable and characterful house in which to stay - highly recommended.
Basically nothing. Be aware however that if you don't fancy some very steep stairs to the upper floors of the main house you might prefer to ask for the Garden Room which is far easier to reach.
Every thing was great position bedroom, breakfast and the lady who owned and ran it was a loverly person Really old building with lots of character,
Nothing but some people may find the very steep narrow stair case a challenge
Unique place to stay, kind host, and feels as historic as the town. The stairs might be daunting for some, but we're not a problem for us.
