The position of the hotel was terrific for convenience of access to the Old Port and shops. Staff, when present, were helpful. The downside to the great position was that it was very noisy and it was impossible to sleep with the window open (which is what I like to do), especially in stuffy rooms, which this was. The actual rooms was clean and neat, but the hallways and stairs and entry all pretty rundown look about them, with torn carpet, dingy, narrow halls etc. |

The entrance lobby and reception looked fresh and inviting. The bed was comfortable - we like reasonably hard beds. Having breakfast in the room was good! The noisy masher in the toilet. The poor decor in the stairways and passages once you were past reception. The very small bathroom. |

Excellent location, spotlessly clean, very pleasant staff, airy room I was too late to get a room overlooking the port but the room looking onto the courtyard was still fine |

The view was magnificent, the harbour, the boats and the Chain Tower and lighthouses, all light up at night - stunning. Location was fantastic. What was also a nice surprise was to find out that they don't have a breakfast room, instead they deliver breakfast to your room perfect, breakfast in bed looking at the view. Lady on reception was wonderful, so helpful and helped to provide cleaning rags for our bikes, no probs with storage of our bikes either. Room was beautifully decorated and fitted with the location, bed was really large and comfy, bathroom was nice and roomy too. The only thing was the noise at night as the hotel is on the main harbour frontage and we love to sleep with the doors open but were unable due to noises such as 'happy' people (at 3am) and then 'service' noises which started quite early. The hotel did have 2 lots of double glazing which when closed was fantastic, and it had Air Con - only being New Zealanders we prefer fresh air - but the view wow! |

it's charming and in the centre of the town. After driving a whole day, it's not pleasant to search for the parking of the hotel! |

Well located for The Old Port. Very helpful Receptionist who spoke very good English. Quiet yard room despite being very busy outside. There was airconditioning in the room. Lack of drinkmaking facilities. Several flights of steep stairs - 2 flights to Reception. |

Stayed at La Marine with a friend on 3 July 2009. Rooms are simple, but clean and well kept. Hotel location is very central and allows easy access to all main attractions/restaurants. Definitely recommended. |

Good design. Excellent view of the harbour (but the room was pricier than others looking in on the courtyard). Good French breakfast brought to the room at reasonable price (Euros 6.20 as I recall). Not suitable for those unable to climb stairs. No lift & Reception is up 2 flights. |

It was a quiet room in the back of the hotel. The air conditioner worked well. I did not like that there was no elevator and you had to carry your bags up two flights of stairs just to get to the reception desk, I did not like that then I had to carry the bags up another two flights to my room. I did not like that in separating the toilet from the shower in it's own closet, it was so small that you became clostrophobic if you went to the bathroom. |

Beautiful view of harbor. When we arrived, we were told we were mistaken about the price guaranteed to us by bookings.com. In the end, we did receive the booked price. |
