La Mère Poulard    

This hotel was, I am sure, amazing 40 years ago. Since the ocean no longer comes in around the Mont, our room overlooked a construction site where they are building the new bridge. We were awakened at 6am when they started unloading supplies for the Mont under our window. We would have been much better off to book into one of the hotels off the Mont that has a view towards the Mont. The hotel is extremely worn and not updated, which is surprising considering the amount of traffic this hotel has. Lastly, they work very hard to book you into their restaurant, which is ridiculously expensive.

The staff is well educated but so arrogant. Coming in this place to taste the famous "omelette" we have been shocked by the poor quality of the dinner and the very high price: a tasteless starter, an omelette without any taste served on a cold plate for 45 Euros!!! Definitively a shame for the French Cuisine... La reputation de cet endroit est surfaite et infondee. A eviter.

Excellent location, fantastic views, loaded with character.

Overpriced breakfast, 20 euros for a continetal breakfast that a travel lodge or ibis charges 8 euros for. Parking was not on site as descibed by the write up, you had to park in a carpark a mile away and get a shuttle bus. However I was not give a code for the car park and had telephone the hotel to get it.

Really good location! Like the view although only has a small window in my room, feeling good to stay inside the mountain!

With no heater in the room, properly my countries are pretty warm, so I felt a bit cold inside the room during late Oct. As I had a long trip, it's tough for me to carry the big case without lift there, the stairs are pretty narrow and not easy for this part.

Our room was a four floor walk-up with our luggage, the cost exorbitant . The restaurant was very over-priced, the food mediocre, their signature omelette was raw inside and inedible, the price outrageous. Overall a very disappointing and exasperating stay.

You can't beat the location and the amazing "magic" that Mont Saint Michel offers. The hotel was very rustic and cool and the views could have not been more wonderful. Of course, the Omlette's at the restaurant are the real reason to visit. Wonderful.

It was very, very expensive; however the room was a 4-star and the amenities offered were excellent.

The position of the hotel is great, the staff is friendly.

We booked a twin/double room and we got a queen size bed for two people. The room was quite small, old furniture and not so clean. Everything is overpriced but you have the position...It would be a good rate if the bus from parking would stop at night. Restaurant is higly overpriced compared to the french standard.

No doubt about the location, the proximity to the Mont St Michel Church, and the omelette served in this hotel. We stayed in the room at the Annex, which was roomy and big.

The room in the Annex is big and comfortable, but the view from the room is not what we expected compared to the room in the main building.

Maybe the price would be a little less expensive, but I understand that it is a very nice hotel located on an breath-taking place.

Location cannot be beat, in the heart of Le Mont St. Michel.

Way overpriced. Twenty-two euros for breakfast is an outrageous amount of money for a breakfast that was not that good. Our croissants were stale and hard. At one point, the employee behind the desk was someone who could not speak English. We were most frustrated with parking. We were sent a parking code the day we arrived, but it was not clear (it was in French, not English) as to where to park, and waiting until the day of arrival, for people on a week-long holiday, makes no sense. So we ended up paying 17 eur instead of 5 eur.

It seems to be with a history of famous people staying. You can see a lot of famous autographs and photos. The rooms are decorative however, they are not accessible with luggage.

The rooms are decorative however, they are not accessible with luggage. Further more, it is close to the construction site --- hope it is finished by the time of your booking--- it was quite noisy and the scene doesn't look pleasant as you would dream about Mont Saint Michel.

The location was excellent

Extremely dusty. Hit the bedspread to kill a fly and there was a cloud of dust. The food was extremely expensive and not good at all . At reception they said breakfast was included in our tarif so we had breakfast there only to be charged $44 euros. Other than location not a good experence.

The hotel was in need of some work. The carpets were stained, the walls were beat up, the bedding was old. For the price and rating of the hotel, I expected much higher quality. I quess, I paid for the location and nothing else.

The hotel is very run down and needs renovations. No lift and stairs are narrow and steep. Breakfast is 22 Euros per person, so we visited a nearby boulangerie instead.

Old world charm in an historic setting

The lobby staff was very helpful and kind. The room we have chosen has nice view of the road to continent and enough wide as it had second room also.

We know it cannot be avoided because of Mont Saint Micheal's geometric situation, but the staits are too sharp.
