The carpeting in the room was torn and needs to be replaced. It appears shabby....
World class boutique hotel World class fine dining restaurant Beautiful rooms Excellent location Very good staff
The Kitchen restaurant provided very challenging regional dishes for the Australian palate
The room was really lovely. It was a generous size and the decoration was both thoughtful and tasteful.
The restaurant was disappointing. It was run efficiently and the staff were certainly trying their best but the food was not up to expected quality and overpriced for the offering.
Great location, old world, classy hotel.
It was a perfect stay from beginning to end. All the staff are amazing and the rooms beautiful and well appointed. Dinner (twice) on the terrace was just perfect too. We will be back (as soon as possible).
The location, the comfortable rooms, the building and gardens.
Firstly, they didn't appear to have our booking, which wasn't very good. When we checked out the next day, we enquired about staying the following Saturday night. They said they had 1 room left and would hold it until noon the following day. We emailed the nx day to confirm then phoned and were told that the hotel was fully booked and had been for some time!! I'm sorry, but a hotel of this standard should not be making these sorts of errors. There is no excuse. It caused us considerable inconvenience.
Incredibly beautiful hotel. Location doesn't get better than this one in Avignon. Excellent staff.
La Mirande is an oasis of calm in the centre of bustling Avignon. Our rooms were comfortable and elegant and overlooked the beautiful garden and the Palais des Papes beyond the garden wall. The staff at La Mirande are friendly and welcoming while being thoroughly professional at all times. Jean-Claude Aubertin's menus and M. Jacques' wine recommendations are so delicious that we rarely ate elsewhere.
First off, it's a spectacular, comfortable setting. And it's right next to the Palais du Papes, which I'm sure they said, but we didn't realize - you literally walk out of the gift shop and onto the street and the entrance to the hotel. Which means it's very convenient to the city's largest attraction, but also that you have these amazing views of the Palais from your room, the garden, the dining rooms, etc. And the staff - so helpful, so friendly. A perfect stay.
La Mirande was spectacular in every way and far exceed our expectations. We had no idea there were walls from Roman baths in the cellar which is also the location of their cooking school. No wonder the dinner we had in the garden was so finely prepared. Tea in the inner courtyard was delightful followed by a view of the beautifully decorated dining room and lounge dating from the time this hotel was a palace. Avignon was a favorite and La Mirande the jewel.
An elegant, historic hotel. Attentive, friendly staff, wonderfully located. Parking is tricky the first time, but after that relatively easy. The table d'hote experience was a highlight of our trip!
Pricey... Small. It would not be good for groups beyond 6 or 8, I think.
Fabulous hotel! Excellent interiors and restaurant.
Beautiful location. Dinner in the chef's kitchen downstairs was fantastic.
Lovely old building set right behind the Palais des Papes. Very helpful staff, rooms beautifully furnished. Restaurant fantastic though pricey but worth it for a treat.
Limited snack menu. Shower over the bath.
A beautful well located hotel with an excellent restaurant.
Expensive but great for a special occasion. Some orders placed at the reception desk, in the bar and in the breakfast room did not appear and the orders had to be repeated. Difficult to access by car.
Position, deco, the charming chef who took us round his kitchen. Its a superb hotel you should be proud. This is a hotel I shall return to all my life on my road trips between Sicily and London. It reminded me of a Fellini set.
Hellish to find by car. Wish there had been more help with this on the website. When you have been travelling and tired it is an added hassle. You need to look at your menu for snacks at the bar. They should be more traditional, home cooked and cheaper. We did not want a huge meal on our second night and that menu was expensive and dull. Lighting in our bedroom was confusing and too dark on the reading lights
We loved the small warm comfort of home. Wonderful atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. The location was Golden! We will return.
Their wasn't anything we did not like! Thank you
The location is spectacular, literally right next to the Palais des Papes. Rooms and furnishings are beautiful. Service is spot on, and they make a decent martini, which is often hard to find in France
Wonderful ambiance, filled with beautiful furniture and superb food
Great location right next to the Pope's palace but very hard to locate for a tourist driving a rental car
Wonderful ambience throughout with friendly competent staff and perfect attention to detail. Dinner at the Chef's Table was a highlight. One of our top 5 hotel experiences ever. If you stay in Avignon...this is the place!!!
All positive...no dislikes.
The dinner in the restaurant is great! The view to Palais de Papes! The best location ever!
Wonderful, 5 star luxury hotel achieved within the confines of a historic building. Staff, food and service all excellent. Happy to return and stay again.
Lots of public spaces that were beautifully decorated - we had access to them all. It was like being invited to relax in a friend`s stately home. Excellent restaurant and wine list - even got to tour the wine cellars
They dont know how to make a Manhattten cocktail - a minor quibble
Great location and room lovely
