Reception staff were excellent from our first contact - before we arrived they had already made contact to welcome us and ask if there was anything spacial they could do for our arrival - once we arrived they could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The room was excellent - it was an upgrade - but it had to have one of the best views in Nice and extremely comfortable. The journey through the lifts was interesting but we quickly got used to it and treated it a pleaseant quirkieness! Restaurant staff, particularly the females were poorly dressed and somewhat unhelpful

The hotel has a superb location! most of the staff is polite and helpful, specially the young man who drives the cars to the parking and takes care of the luggage. Our room had a very nice balcony with plants where we could hear birds all day long. The only negative thing about this hotel is the odd arrangement of floors: to our room we had to take three elevators!

Without doubt, this is the best located hotel in Nice, situated on the site of an ancient defense. The views offered from the second floor and above are spectacular, sea to the east, beach & city to the south, while all around behind is a lush historic park. faultless.

Comfortable, attentive staff, good location, good facilities. Restaurant adequate though expensive, better value meals elsewhere in Nice. Excessive cost of breakfast (24 euro).

It was very clean and the staff could do nothing more as they were warm and helpful ,we had a sea veiw room on a deal,it was minutes from the old part and meant that the hotel is very quite. To be honest the bed pillows were a bit harder than we would have liked and if we had asked they would have changed them .

The hotel is in a good location for walking into the old town. The staff were in the most part courteous and helpful. The rooftop jaccuzi and sun terrace was very pleasant and in the summer I am sure this is a major plus. The bathroom was a good size. The hotel was clad in scaffolding during our stay which obviously did not enhance the overall first impression. The room was very small and quite cramped; it was quite claustraphobic as the view was literally a sheer rock face! We did phone down to reception to ask for an additional robs and slippers as we were a party of 3 and only 2 of each were supplied and although we were promised these would be brought up immediately, they did not arrive, even after 2 days! Breakfast was good, but at 25 euro's pp, quite expensive.

The Location of the hotel is excellent for visiting Nice. I liked the friendleness of the staff, the room with a sea view are just short of brialliant and any food I had in the hotel was excellent. I did not like the fact that the hotel was being refurbished during my stay there, the dust and inconvienence but mostly the noise was very annoying. I had to complain about the noise on two occaisions. I did not like that the hotel has a very small entrance and access to the floors above is via two very small lifts but if this can be ignored the hotel is excellent.

Excellently located beside the old town. Unusual setup with a lot of lifts needed to get to ones room but given the unique build into a 'face rock' it adds a bit of character to the setup. Had one of the cheaper rooms on the 4th floor 415 with a partial sea view. Would recommend it. Breakfast poor and it really is only a continental. It badly needs an option for fresh scramble egg / omellete given the €21 price which we treated ourselves to on the 'last day'. They would greatly benefit if they were to re-look at this - it might give them extra business in the evening particularily if they could add some music / entertainment to add a bit of spice. Overall I would recommend it - it was a very nice hotel. Be careful of the jaccuzi - you can be seen overhead ! Breakfast - poor value for money and they should offer a cheaper continental option.

Not value for money. The hotel room is a lot smaller than it looks in photos. There was left over food in the fridge from the prior guests staying in our room. We asked for it to be cleaned out twice, yet it was left in the fridge never the less. The room view was of the eating patio, not sea. Great location, but not worth the money. Swiss Hotel, which is literally next door, is a 1/3 of the price. And if you are looking to stay at a luxury hotel, this one was not worth it. The pool was tiny, and the jacuzzi only fit four people, which is not big enough for this hotel. It was an ok stay, but the way it looks on photos vs the reality is quite different.

We paid the supplement for a sea view room, and it was well worth it, especially as the room (407, if you want something similar) overlooked not just the sea but, to the right, the full length of the Promenade des Anglais. Moreover, the room looked out on to an unused flat roof with some lower-level houses or apartments in the front that totally concealed the noise of the 24-hour traffic that roars along the Promenade des Anglais. The bed was very comfortable and the towels delightfully soft (changed every day, too). The Provencal wines in the restaurant are first class. It's not all that convenient to have to go from one lift to another on the way up to the 4th floor: one lift from Reception to the First Floor, and then (after a long corridor walk) another, smaller lift to the 4th. However, you can get used to this, and it does give a lovely feel of isolation to the upper floors. The restaurant is not as delightful as it appears in the hotel literature, even if the food and wine are quite special (and priced to match).

Conclusion, à consommer sans modération.
