The staff were very helpful in all our needs especially the reception personal. The coffee prepared for me by the receptionist was exact to my liking and i like the way sugar is served. i will make sure that next year I am given a room on the first floor with balcony.
Our room was in the lobby of the hotel close to the reception, the bar, and the back of the lift almost in side our room which room number was 40. Very poor lighting my wife could not do her make up for the dancing competition. The breakfast was very pour, fresh if you have it before 8. after it depends how long it has been displayed on the table. Bread rolls very good but at times not very well baked or burnt top.
5 min walk to city center, 24h recaption
Breakfast is included (!) without hot drinks: simple set of bread and confiture + orange juice is included, all other is for money. It's not good because nobody tells about non-included hot drinks...
Comfortable hotel in a Good location Close to the town and the ski lift. The staff are v friendly although it may take a day or 2.
Too many notices from the management dictating what not to do
The location was pretty good.
The concierge was so unhelpful and sometimes rude. He possesses no understanding of costumer service, negatively impacted on the overall experience.
For the ability to book a long weekend La Prairie was one of the few options available at this price point. Accommodation is comfortable and worked well
Breakfast is limited and a bit of a disappointment. We also had an issue on price as when we came to check out the owner produced a bill somewhat in excess of the booking.com price/contract and refused to acknowledge the booking.com price. Given we needed to leave our bags in the hotel and use the basement shower in order to ski the last day before an evening taxi to the airport, we didn’t feel able to argue but this seems in breach of contract and we will be taking this up with booking.com.
Location was good
Staff and Quality of Hotel was Poor
The central location.
Everything is quite old. Electric heaters in room and bathroom that do not really work well. Very old TV of which the working is completely not understandable. Quite noisy because close to central route. Very expensive compared to similar hotels in Megève.
It's a five minute walk on the flat to the main town of Megeve. Very comfortable and quiet.
There is not a kettle in the room to make tea.
Very clean Super located for ski trips Comfort -Value for money rooms
Having read the reviews we can't say that we weren't ready for what we got but the owner managed to surpass himself in his ridiculous ill-mannered behaviour! Four days of his rudeness and we didn't know whether to laugh or cry but the cherry on the cake was him rather blatant attempt to overcharge us at the end of our stay. A grotty man in his grotty expensive hotel. If you have ANY choice go elsewhere.....
The location of the hotel was excellent. Close to ski lifts, supermarkets and the many restaurants in Megeve. The rooms were quite large and comfortable and the breakfast was adequate. The sauna is new, clean and private. It's very easy to find on entering Megeve and if you get a room with a balcony the views are fantastic. Good lockers in the basement for ski gear with direct access to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again for another ski trip.
This is not a warm friendly hotel - they stand and look at you when you are trying to carry your bags. Everything previously said about the owner is true however he doesn't really bother you at all. The staff seem like they hate working there. Yes everything is extra but the €10 for the sauna was worth it so spend time in it to get the your money's worth. It's a hotel that ticks all boxes without the smiles and welcoming feeling. Sadly for them the reviews could be so much better if they were nice.
close to center
All facilities with Extra charge.(ex. Sauna, Wi-Fi) Poor breakfast. No good heating in the room. Announcement behind the door of the room: All food/drinks coming from outside of the hotel will be charged inclusively 20€/day!
The location, very cental in what is otherwise a v. expensive town, a pleasant sunny hotel. The rooms in the Chalet Grillot opposite are very nice and warm, perfect for drying stuff. stuff.
The rooms in the main hotel are a bit chilly for drying wet ski. The food. The restaurant is rarely used in the evenings. However plenty of restaurants nearby.
The place is nice with nice view very close to the center. The hotel was very cleanliness. The young new staff was really nice and poly. We could have a shower when we leave the hotel after skiing at 5pm prior to go to the airport.
- Very unfriendly welcoming on our arrival by the old men. - Wifi available for extra cost (It is not clear the information provided by the hotel on booking.com) - Mini breakfast ''free'' not clear when we book neither as you have to pay load of extra cost for a eggs or anything else then bread and jam. - We wait 10 min to get our breakfast and ask 4 times to get some milk with the coffee. - food in the hotel available to ''order in advance'' only not clear neither! - Cold atmosphere on ground floor/ bar area (light and no music)
Location is good, not really near the busy area and not far from everything. There is a young guy at the recaption who was very proffesional and helpful
Limited variety at the breakfast and a very unfriendly older man at the reception. He seemed to be really pissed off by any question and barely wanted to help
Great access to Megeve village centre. Helpful waiting staff.
Price / location.
Very convenient location from the main road. 5-7 min to the Megeve center and ski lifts by walk, no need car. Flexible parking. The rooms are large enough and clean. Breakfast is nice and fresh.
The attidude of the owner was not very welcoming, and disrespectful rather rude to the guests. The wi-fi was not easily accessible from the rooms- poor connection. Poor quality dinner.
Location, value, staff help,cleanliness
wi-fi a bit erratic..but almost free...TV hard to manage(but then we didn't ask either) Bfast basic.
Terrible service by staff and hotel owner. Ruined the experience.
Hotel Management absolutely shocking. Thieves. Trying to make money at every corner & not even openly. Towels barely fit around ones body. Manager a despicable individual... first time I ever blog my dissatisfaction. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
Location was great, a short walk to the town centre. Staff were friendly and accommodating and we just asked what was and was not included at breakfast. It seems reasonable to charge extra for more than the basic breakfast. Wifi cost is 5 euro for the whole stay so not much when there for a week. Staff spoke English and there was covered and uncovered parking available (covered at extra cost)
We stayed in peak ski season so room cost was over 200 euro per day but there were signs in room noting that would be charged 20 euro extra per day to eat external food in your room. Whilst this was not an issue for us as we ate out each night, it seemed like something you would find only in a very budget priced hotel
