Modern gestylte Räume in Altstadthaus, grosszügige Zimmer mit grossem Flat-TV. Lage des Hotels inmitten der Altstadt. Der alte Hafen von La Rochelle mit seinem grossen Angebot an Restaurants ist wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Gutes Shopping-Angebot unter Arkaden. Parking in Tiefgarage gegen Gebühr zu empfehlen, da Parkplätze in der näheren Umgebung rar sind.

Die Zimmer hinteren "moderneren" Gebäude. Das Hotel ist im Grunde zweigeteilt. Die uns zunächst angebotenen Zimmer im hinteren 70er Jahre Gebäude haben bzg Mobiliar, sanitärer Anlagen, Fenster und Sauberkeit das Niveau einer schlechten Jugendherberge. Das sind allenfalls zwei Sterne. Die danach getauschten renovierten (deutlich teureren Zimmer) im Haupthaus waren dagegen sehr ansprechend und den 4 Sternen entsprechend. Kaum zu glauben, dass diese unterschiedlichen Kategorien in einem Haus verkauft werden. Frühstücksraum und Frühstück sind in Ordnung. Die Lage des Hotels zentral genug um die Innenstadt zu erlaufen.

Zentrale Lage ermöglicht die Erkundung der Stadt und ihrer Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuss. Auch die Ile de Re ist mit dem PKW sehr leicht zu erreichen. Die Hotelmitarbeiter sind höflich und sehr hilfsbereit.Der Aufenthalt kann insgesamt ohne Abstriche als gelungen bezeichnet werden.

It was a beautiful hotel, there are two parts to it, one is the very luxurious part and although I didn't see the rooms the main body of the building was gorgeous. We stayed in the more budget bit which is still very much part of the hotel but in a purposes built block. The rooms were very clean and large and comfortable and we had a lovely view of the courtyard. The staff were very helpful too. We were going to have a drink in the bar as it looked very very nice but it always seemed empty so we went out for food and drinks. The hotel was very centrally located and there were lots of shops, bars, restuarants, coffee shops and markets nearby. The port was a 5min walk through the stunning looking town. In fact the only time we needed to take a bus was to/from the airport.

Not really a complaint but it would have been good to have a hairdryer in the room and also access to an iron as if you're flying handluggage only its difficult to bring these yourself. I would also recommend that there is no need for the housekeeping staff to change the towels every day. I purposefully hung ours up every day so they wouldn't think they were dirty but they changed them daily. Definately not a complaint though, just more of an observation about keeping costs down and the obvious environmental issues.

Not worth four stars, needs upgrading. The pool was a joke, and you did not feel welcome to use the outdoor areas as a garden, but rather as part of the bar.

Public rooms were excellent but seldom used. The hotel was very central and the staff welcoming. The breakfast was good value for this standard of hotel.

The rroms, especially the bathroom, were cleaned to a poor standard. The furnishings were spartan and not to the standard expected compared to the rooms advertised. If anything the decor could do with a refurbishment. Disappointing and overpriced.

we liked the siuation in the old city of La Rouchelle, 15 min walk to the harbour, very nice hotel, hotel staff very kind and helpful , the kids loved the pool. Breakfast should be included, otherwise too expensive. Cafe Paris is 5 min walk from the hotel and offers a good french breakfast in a very beautiful old house.

No air-conditioning. One reception staff member was unhelpful e.g. I asked for a call to be put through to another room and the receptionist said he didn't know how to to do it!! Lots of noise in hotel corridors late at night. This hotel is not suitable for young children. This hotel is not 4-star grade (it is a 3-star, at best).

Very pleasant room with good city views. Helpful staff,always pleasant on approach. Quiet environment; spacious lounge with log fire.

No particular dislikes at all, but could be improved perhaps by the bar being manned more regularly, and a daily snack / light meal menu.

Location and private parking which is a must in La Rochelle with very narrow roads and a complex one way system.

There is no air conditioning in this hotel and whilst it was not a problem for our visit in October, I could well imagine it may be during the height of the summer.

Very good

The hotel location is city centred, within few minutes of Place de Verdun with buses to airport and Ile de Re, It was surrounded by boutique shops, lovely arcaded pavements and easy walk to a lively market. We walked every where and the hotel is not far from the port and its famous fish restaurants. It's perfectly safe for women to walk at night. The Residence staff and everyone in the shops and cafes were friendly and helpful. Supermarket is open near the hotel.

The only downside was that everywhere shuts on Sunday. No shops or bars are open, and even the hotel bar was closed. We asked for hair dryer and it was provided, but an iron was not. We also had to borrow a bottle opener from reception. Maybe the hotel staff should warn people about Sunday closing, because there's nowhere to eat at all near to Hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation.
