The proprietor was most charming and staff were very friendly and helpful. It was ideal for our group. The rooms were clean and tidy accommodation was good. Breakfast good. We thought the price of drinks in the bar rather expensive |

We liked the staff and also great environment & location (in the middle of the beautiful Normandie countryside). The room facilities very correct, clean and with a clear attention from the owners for decor and facilities. Excellent breakfast. Big parking space. Location conveniently close to both Bayeux and Arromanches. Fair value for money, both lodging and breakfast. Not really dislikes, but indeed the tiled floor gives more of a summery cool feeling - not what you'd wish to come back to in cool autumn Normandie evenings. Room walls sound isolation not very soundproof - at least not in the room we stayed (would hear neighbors coughing). Accessible only by car, though this was not a problem for us, since we went there by car. |

Situated in the countryside just north of Bayeux, hotel La Rosiere is centrally located and ideal for visiting all of the D Day Landing sites, the picturesque town of Bayeux and its tapestry, or for shopping in the bustling city of Caen. The challet-style rooms were spotlessly clean and our towels were changed daily. The breakfast was typically French and wholesome with specialities such as 'pains perdus' and 'far aux mures'. The hotel management was particularly welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed 5 nights and have nothing but praise for the hotel. |

Convenient for Cherbourg ferry Booked separate beds for 2 persons and was told I should have booked a twin and was charged extra for another bed. As we had to catch a ferry next morning, breakfast was not available till 8.00am. No restaurant open for evening meal and subsequently had to travel to the nearest town for our evening meal |

Easy to find. Pleasant situation.Very quiet. Easy parking. Table and chairs outside rooms. Good breakfast. Rooms cramped. No comfortable chairs. Booked twin but room contained double bed and child bed - not very comfortable. Although able to speak French I did not find owners particularly friendly. The son(?) who greeted us was pleasant and helpful but the mother(?) was not and made us feel uncomfortable. |

The hotel was very quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful offering tips on where to visit. Given that we were in France we would have expected the quality of the coffee at breakfast to have been better. |

Very clean, basic room. It had excellent water pressure in the shower. Staff was very nice and offered up suggestions of places to go and see. The hotel sits atop a hill and has a lovely view of the countryside. It was outside of the town of Bayeux, but not too far as to be inconvienant. You must have your own car to get anywhere. The waterproof matress cover was a bit uncomfortable and noisey to sleep on. The plastic would crinkle and the lumps that formed (since it was not fitted tightly on the bed) everytime you moved could be considered at the very least highly annoying. There are some tables in the room that are great to put luggage on but they stick out quite far. We crashed into them numerous times when we got up to use the restroom at night. Playground is not that much of a playground. There is a large checkerboard and a small house that was locked up tight. |

Hotel La Rosiere is a lovely place with beautiful landscaping. The owners are very helpful and make you feel at home. The breakfast was included and it was great. The location is perfect as it is in the heart of all of the ww11 landmarks and amidst the gorgeous Normandy countryside. Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer! |

Well equiped rooms (kettle, cups, bathroom with shower). This is not hotel but motel. If you look for quick overnight stay, it is ok, otherwise stay away. This hotel is defenitely overmarked in stars and Logis ranks (French hotels network). |
