The hotel was in the centre of the historical part of the city. The staff at reception were helpful.
The room we had was slightly larger than a shoebox. We had to take turns sitting on the bed while the other got dressed. There was no air extractor in the toilet or the bathroom. The mildew in the shower was so thick that you could scrape it off with your finger. The walls were so thin that you could almost hear the other guests conversations. This hotel probably got its three stars off the back of a Kellog's cornflake packet. We will not be back.
The Hotel is very centrally located. Accommodation is clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful in assisting with arrangements, tours or directions or any requests you might have. Highly recommend to anyone and would definitely stay there again
Location, comfortable and quiet room.
Ineptitude of staff. They were friendly and courteous but lacked basic knowledge regarding the hotel. We had a problem programming the in room safe and no one knew where the master key was. There was no wifi for at least 36 hours of our stay and our requests to try to solve the problem were met with a shrug of shoulders and "I don't know what's wrong".
The hotel was quaint, well maintained clean and comfortable and a fantastic location. Staff were really helpful and friendly
Location&building. Cosy. Clean.
The location was central but just off the beaten track to be quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Cleanliness excellent throughout. Concept of hotel decor was good.
Badly designed blackout blinds allowing much light into the room while sleeping. Bath and sink plug did not prevent water from draining away when inserted but staff were made aware of this and fixed it same day. Hair dryer did not work. Staff attempted to fix it but made it more dangerous with smoke coming out on use. Shower screen on bath did not seal to bath correctly thus letting water flow onto bathroom floor. The toilet seat had come away from the fixing but staff were made aware of this and fixed it same day. Blind in bathroom did not cover the entirety of the window potentially exposing the bathroom to external onlookers. Parquet flooring was advertised as part of the deal but we were presented with deep blue shagpile carpet. The cupboard door mirror had 2 large cracks which looked unsightly. The breakfast presented was very limited for €12 per day.
Decor Staff Cleanliness Location
Noise from outside at night but to be fair I had the option of air-conditioning and chose open windows instead. So really I disliked very little.
Location is excellent - a block from several bus stops (Place Gambetta) and the tram () - can get anywhere pretty easily. The hotel is located at the end of Rue Ponte Dijeaux, a pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants. The picturesque Place de la Bourse is only a few minutes walk. Lots of other attractions are nearby. My room was not in the main building, but around the corner - I actually liked this arrangement as I had a private entrance that did not require me to go in and out through the hotel lobby. The room was small (typical European single), but it was clean, comfortable, and pretty quiet. The hotel has a lot of character.
The shower was a bit small and did not have a full curtain.
Central position in Bordeaux. Quaint old atmosphere of building. Staff helpful. They gave us an electric fan when we complained about air conditioning being set too high.
Very little storage space in room. Bathroom very small. The door to the shower enclosure only covered half of the shower. Air conditioning set too high so room too hot at night. Cold not keep window open due to occasional loud noises in street below e.g. skateboarders at 2 am.
Interesting old building.
Not a proper shower in the room
I couldn't fault this hotel. Excellent location. Few mins walk from bus stop from airport to hotel. Down a little lane so quiet but in the centre of things. Loads of character. Little gem .
It was clean, comfortable and well located, but...
Too noisy due to poor insulation.
Location, the staff were fantastic, very clean hotel, would recommend for any age group.. We did not have to take a taxi anywhere, we travelled by train to st.Emilion tickets cost 7e return pp and we walked around this beautiful area and then enjoyed a lovely lunch, a little tip if you like dry wines stick with the Rose from the south of France, it is much lighter in colour and the 5 of us preferred it to the local Rose..
This hotel can be a little noisy if you take a room at the front,I would also ask not to have a room where the door opens onto stairs, its quite dark..in this area of the bedrooms, also this is a hotel where the rooms are for couples, you could not share with a friend..no privacy what so ever as the 'bathroom' is in the room with just a glass sliding door..
Location and decoration are great. Rooms are a little tight, but otherwise clean.
No bathroom privacy.
