La Villa Eugene82-84 Avenue De Champagne, 51200 Épernay (Show map) Excellent, Score from 114 reviews“The hotel and my room was very stylish and perfectly matching the atmosphere of Champagne region. I especially liked dark wooden decor and black girandole on the ceiling. The pool area (even the pool is small) was also very comfortable and giving the feeling of privacy. Beautiful very old olive trees in the garden around the pool.”

This 19-century residence is set in a park planted with trees in the outskirts of Epernay, the capital of the Champagne region. It offers an outdoor swimming pool and a solarium. La Villa Eugene features air-conditioned and soundproofed rooms and suites, each with a unique décor following a Louis XVI or Colonial style. They blend classic design and modern facilities like satellite channels on a flat-screen TV, and a modern bathroom with bathrobe and slippers. La Villa Eugene works in partnership with different restaurants and their chefs, allowing guests to sample an array of local flavors. The restaurants are situated less than 5 minutes away, in the center of the city. Some of the largest and most famous champagne houses are located within walking distance, on the Avenue de Champagne. The Côte des Blancs Vineyard, the Marne Valley and its famous champagne vineyards are easily accessible by car. Hotel Rooms: 15

Spacious bedroom and bathroom.Well furnished; large bed. Excellent breakfast Its only problem is that its about 1 mile from the town centre. However, in good weather this is a positive advantage as it's a lovely walk (especially after a 4 course dinner!)

This was the second time we'd visited Villa Eugene and as before the standard of accommodation was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. We do feel that the hotel is quite expensive and considering this, the extra 17 euros per person for breakfast was, we felt, excessive for what was on offer.

Fair value for money. Character property - freshly updated. Breakfast didn't cater for dairy or wheat intollerances - it should be possible to at least have some longlife soya milk available. No tissanes were available either.

The pool and hotel luxury and decoration. At 35 degrees celsius, air conditioning is a must in a luxury hotel. But at this one, the air conditioning was out of order. After I checked in and unpacked, the receptionist called with the detail, saying "at the moment we don't have air conditioning, but the technician is working on it. Worse case you will get a ventilator." By the time I came back from dinner and learned that we wouldn't have ac, I asked for my ventilator and she told me they only had 4 fans but 15 rooms, so I wouldn't have a fan. So, at 11pm you don't have alternatives, I left the hotel in the following morning.

The hotel and my room was very stylish and perfectly matching the atmosphere of Champagne region. I especially liked dark wooden decor and black girandole on the ceiling. The pool area (even the pool is small) was also very comfortable and giving the feeling of privacy. Beautiful very old olive trees in the garden around the pool. I had a room with a terrace and on the day of checkout a man came quite early in the morning to water the plants and also the terrace itself, so I could not use it any more. Also it took him nearly 1 hour and over that time I had no privacy in the room and felt uneasy. Would be good for hotel staff to arrange such activities during normal cleaning time when guests are out of the room and after checkout.

The restored Villa was lovely. I found the Reception Manager very condescending when dealing with a complaint regarding an item missing from our room after the room was serviced. There was no hot water one morning and despite enquiries, no reason was given and no apology was offered. We enquired if room service was available on a particular night and advised that it was; when we went to order we were advised that there was no food available that night after all.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and after walking around Epernay & the champagne cellars it was good to get a good nigh sleep. We had room 14 which had its own private terrace, a good place to sit and unwind Breakfast should have been included. When they turned the beds down at night they should have emptied the waste bins in the room, and they should have refreshed any empty or nearly empty toileteries in the bathroom

We loved the renovated residence, it was beautiful. This location offers those who love champagne to visit Epernay but also have very close access to numerous other locations and champagne houses all over the champagne region. Highly recommend staying out in the area vs the big city of Reims, you cannot appreciate the beauty of the vineyards nor the incredible numbers of fine champagne, much of which never leaves France, let alone Europe. This makes it all the more special. The Villa has a beautiful pool, terrace and garden that also takes you away from the hustle/bustle of the main street, the rooms were sound proof, moreover airconditioned which is an absolute luxury during this hot summer.

La Villa Eugene is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Epernay. Within walking distance of everything. The staff are welcoming and the rooms extremely comfortable and clean. The beds are amazing you wont want to get up. Very good breakfast selection, served in an old orangerie overlooking the pool. The pool is heated so we went for a swim even though it was raining. It is perfectly located for Champagne tasting around Epernay and is right next to Mercier Champagne. Approx a 15 minute walk to the main centre where there are lots of restaurants and bars.

Beautifully presented villa hotel with high quality fittings and decor. Everything tastefully done with excellent service. A few blocks stroll into Epernay and free parking. A slightly higher rate than usual but definitelty worth it.
