The lovely swimming-pool in the garden offers a beautiful view of the Alpilles. Bicycles are available for hire at the hotel. Please contact the reception for rates and availability. The reception is open from 8am to 8pm. Situated right in the heart of Provence, this old Provencal house was drawn by Vincent Van Gogh during his stay in St Remy de Provence, and Alphonse Daudet, a famous 19th century French novelist, lived there. We loved the location of Villa Glanum to the ancient Roman Glanum ruins and the town of St. Remy-de-Provence, which is why we selected this Villa. In our opinion, the value for the price was just right. The staff spoke some English and all were very helpful. Our room was located in the midst of olive trees, which brought singing birds nearby each day (pleasant and enjoyable). We had wonderful light breakfasts (continental) (11 euros each) in the enchanting dining salon adjoining the gardens each morning. We literally stepped out the back of the garden and were just steps to the Roman ruins, a brief and pleasant walk to the ancient village of Glanum. While strolling back from Glanum, we discovered directly across from Villa was the Maison de santé Saint-Paul (where Van Gogh painted and spent some of his last days). We determined that staying at Villa Glanum did require a rental car (from Avignon), which allowed us to visit St. Remy-de-Provence. Our room was cool, clean, and comfortable and had the pertinent necessities. The pool looked very inviting but we did not partake. Due to some dietary restrictions, we did not have dinner at the Villa. The Villa is typically French/European style (which is not considered luxurious by American standards) with smaller rooms with private bathroom with a shower. We determined that it was integral to our having a wonderfully French experience during our time in France, and would most decidedly return.

The garden and swimming pool were stunning. The location is right next to the Asylum where Van Gogh painted an amazing number of pictures and I would recommend visiting it and looking at the same views he painted in one of the most productive periods of his life. Also the Glanum Roman remains are next door to the Van Gogh asylum and they are really interesting too. San Remy is a lovely town with very good and reasonably- priced restaurants, so La Villa Glanum is brilliantly located, a lovely hotel in enchanting gardens with friendly and helpful staff. Loved it!

lovely hotel next to the archeological site of Glanum, at walking distance of one of the most fascinating little towns of the area, st. remy de provence. beautiful setting, good bed, good bathroom, nice people. something that is not at all their fault: people drive like mad people on the road next to the hotel.. you don't hear the cars in the hotel, but walking on the road can be challenging

We spent the week between Christmas and New Year at this wonderful smallish hotel. We found the hotel to be everything that we expected - quiet, clean, fantastic location. The owner and staff did everything they could to make our stay as good as it coild be - from breakfast, to recommendations ffor dinner. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a feel for life in Provence, and we would go there again.

Reception staff when checking in had poor knowledge of points of interest and could not indicate on map. Local festival began on this day and it would have been nice to know the centre of the town had many road diversions.

The location to the Roman ruins was great. It's a little out of town (but still a comfortable walk), which actually makes it better as their property is spacious. A very relaxing stay. Friendly, accommodating staff.

Pleasant staff, largish clean rooms, nice pool, quiet, unfussy. Near interesting Roman ruins and places you can walk, and very near busy and picturesque St Remy. No serious complaints at all - minor points: Restaurant closed on the day we went (not a serious inconvenience since there are dozens of restaurants 15 mins walk away in St Remy de Provence - but we didn't know beforehand). No staff at night (again this was not a serious inconvenience to us, but it might have been in different circumstances).

It's certainly a villa in St-Remy-de-Provence suburb. Garden, swimming pool surrounded by olive trees, well maintained room make this hotel memorable. It's located next to Roman ruins and facility (asylum) where Van Gogh spent some time recovering after his mental break. St-Remy-de- Provence is in few minutes, Les Baux de Provence and Pont du Gard, both in about half an hour of driving distance. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Angenehmer Zugang, ähnlich wie bei Motels (Jedes Zimmer hat eigene "Haustür" zur Terrasse hin). Recht einfache, knapp geschnittene Zimmer. Alles vorhanden, was man so braucht.
