We had the room at the top of the house it was comfortable and en suite. The shower was a little hit and miss but we managed. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and served by the owners.
Super interior design bedroom Super comfortable bed Easy walking distance to champagne houses Lovely food and generous host
Outdoor area a bit noisy We parked on street but at busy times of year that might be more difficult
the staff, the room, breakfast
Wonderful room and very nice staff. Breakfast was excellent great way to start the day!
very friendly and attentive.
street parking a little probmematic
The Hotel has that homely feel to it a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff were fantastic, highly recommend the food which was absolutely fantastic ! Overall a wonderful experience will definitely be going back !
The staff were very friendly & helpful. Our attic suite (jeroboam) was qauint, clean, light and had an excellent comfortable bed.
It was a bit tight on space with an awkward & dark staircase. You need to be fit to make it to the top floor with a heavy case. Also the tiniest toilet you've ever seen.
Lots of breakfast for 8E. Centre of town 5 mins walk, place had lots of character. Comfy beds.
A charming slightly old fashioned bed and breakfast hotel. Convenient for our short visit to Epernay. The proprietors were helpful with storing our bikes overnight within the hotel. Made a characterful change from the modern chains of hotels we often stay in en route.
No parking with the hotel which could be an inconvenience. Our bathroom needed considerable updating though this was not true of the room our children were in.
Breakfast, friendliness, location. Parking was easy on public places (free).
room a bit small, odd layout with interesting toilet/shower. Shower head fitting broken and couldn't be repaired. No ad hoc catering on day we were there.
Great breakfast excellent value for money
A small friendly hotel handy for the centre of Epernay. I picked it because the photo showed the owners' dogs; they were friendly too.The room was large and comfortable with a beautifully lit bathroom.
After a long drive a lift would have been handy. (The drive was longer than need be as Google Maps put the Rue Jean d'Arc 6 kilometres away.) The aesthetically pleasing handbasin delivered a horizontal hip level stream at the temperature of your choice.
charming Friendly Excellent breakfast very comfortable bed Excellent shower
Hotel is in a good location just a few minutes walk from town. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was good.
We arrived at around 1pm but found the front door locked and a notice saying that you couldn't check in until between 5.30 and 9 pm. Luckily we had driven so could leave our luggage in the car while we went into town. However if you had come by public transport you would have to drag your luggage around with you all afternoon. I have never come across any other hotel that is locked during the day so you can't check in. The bedroom was very small and the bathroom was on a small raised platform in the corner and had an 'electronic' toilet which was very noisy to operate. The walls were very thin so you had to contend with not just the noise from your own toilet operating but everybody else's as well.
We didn't stay here as Pierre the owner became aggressive and accused us of breaking into his hotel.
The check in time was apparently 5.30pm, our paper work showed 3.30 pm and it was 4.30pm when we tried to access the hotel. He accused my husband of climbing over the gate, which he did not and pushed him in the chest in his fit of rage and then called the police. After the police eventually calmed him down he offered an apology. Too late for us, there is no way we could stay at this Hotel and could definitely not recommend it either.
The quadruple room was much smaller than expected, actually seemed to be converted from a double room and no space to move around. No facilities and No exhaust fan in bathroom. Building very old.
The location, staff, atmosphere and food at this hotel were all fantastic! The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. It was excellent value for money.
Friendly staff, central location,
lovely clean room friendly service delicious breakfast
Location short walk to town and the champagne caves, staff were helpful
Friendly and helpful staff. Good quality breakfast selection. Good free internet.
Steep stairs to rooms on upper floor (difficult with large bags) Very cramped toilet and shower area.
Hotel was in walking distance to Avenue de Champagne and restaurants Hotel was very cheap but nice and clean Breakfast was ok and cheap
The room was clean and the internet was fairly reliable.
We attempted to check in at 3pm (which was the check-in time given in our email confirmation). We were met with a sign that said check-in was at 5:30pm (front door locked, no one in sight). So, we were stranded with our luggage, with nothing to do in the intense heat waiting for a 5:30pm check-in time - ridiculously late for a respectable hotel. When we finally were able to check in, the staff was not apologetic at all. We also reserved a double room but were placed in a room with 2 twin beds...not very romantic for this young couple.
Friendly owners although spoken English limited but better than our French ! Lovely dinner and continental breakfast. The dogs are well behaved and cute and add to the family house environment. We had a refurbed room on the top floor which was very contemporary and comfortable beds. Pierre and his wife made us most welcome.
It rained for the three days we were there ! Taxi's were the order of the day.Good job really in a Champagne town.
